In 1993 I did my Safari Guide Leader Certification course on a game reserve outside Hoedspruit. So sad to see the citizens of this beautiful town and surrounding farmers and game reserves, being under such pressure to protect themselves. As per usual our government is missing, but still happily scooping up our taxes. With the USA having just issued a travel warning on South Africa our tourist industry will suffer. Everything this government touches is destroyed. The police force is not only understaffed, but most of them are lazy and corrupt - speaking from personal experience here... Kudus to those police officers who still have integrity and shoulder the burden of having to work with little resources. Much gratitude to Afriforum and its community watches for being willing and able to hold the line. Keeping you all in my prayers. God bless and stay safe. 🙏🏻

We were in the Kruger in 2008 driving out towards Phalaborwa gate and 2 guys were brazenly walking along the road about 20km from the gate. I reported it to the gate guards at Phalaborwa and they said it happens all the time. His response indicated that they were not really bothered about it.
