Bambaataa started the Zulu Nation in 1975 not 1973. In 1973 Bronx River was still Black Spades and he used throw Zulu Nation Anniversaries with 1975 as the birth year (6th anniversary jam in 1981 and 7th in 82, both at Bronx River) but sometime in the late 80's or early 90's he changed it to 1973 I believe to encroach on Kool Herc's timeline

In terms others can understand. Zulu nation was the direction of Hip-Hop. But due to white media and the fear of a "black planet"(Black influence which would lead to "black control"[white people problems]) it was destroyed and made to look like some gang culture. How can people claim music to be gang culture? So rock is drug culture? Imagine if Hip-Hop was left to their own especially in a country where people are so critical of outsiders influence on what is or was supposed to be an established culture. White culture did to Hip-Hop what white communities are afraid "immigrants" would do to their culture established laws.

hold up.. he said he didnt go to africa until 1975.. but he says zulu nation was created in 1973??..
@bxdale838 жыл бұрын
That's one of the false narratives that Bambaataa has been telling over the years. Bronx River was still Black Spades in 1973. Zulu Nation didn't exist until 75/76.
