Today we lost a great leader, Kenya's former 3rd President Mwai Kibaki. Please leave a comment on how you will remember him.
@AfrikanTraveller

There are few people who have had such a profound impact on the future direction of Kenya than Mwai Kibaki. His knowledge and wisdom on running an economy undoubtedly enhanced the economic revival and development of our Nation. It is a tribute to His passionate determination that so many of us feel such a deep sense of loss at his passing.

He established many public universities and opened up university education. He also significantly opened up the democratic space in Kenya. Oh ...I forgot to mention that he also promulgated the 2010 Constitution of Kenya that we are currently using. R.I.P President Mwai Kibaki.

I have been to Kitui once and I can say for sure the place is beautiful. I fell in love with the scenery especially the mountains and the hills, I think the place looks more like California in the US, but that in terms of nature. it's a very good setting for a city, Kenya should have one there maybe in the future.

I remember Kitui vividly, in 1990-91 I used to pass by Kitui on my way to Mutomo town where I was studying at Mutomo Primary. Sometimes on my way to Mwingi. It has been 30 years since I left the land of Masaku. I was in an environment where by the Kamba language was dominant. Today I understand Kikamba very well you cannot backbite me. Thanks for the tour. Kabati area (kitui west) is my home. Yes...road is well done but still under construction...the parallel road junctioning from Kabati, goes to Mwingi town. It's part of the South Sudan-Ethiopian road(Cairo-Cape highway also I think). It was supposed to be built a new straight road and they'd put beacons everywhere across people's lands years ago, but it proved expensive for government. Now they're tarmacking and repairing the normal used roads. We in kitui are benefitting very much.

Thanks Afrikaner Traveller for another fine update on Towns in Kenya.It's high time Kenya invested in Carbon capture technology to create rain in Kenya.The water shortage in Kenya will always slow development and continue to create problems like lack of food,clean water for consumption,water for industrial development ..etc.

This is news to me, what does it do exactly, 'Carbon Capture'
@kariuki8
@kariuki8 2 жыл бұрын
@@AfrikanTraveller Carbon capture is new technology that involves direct carbon dioxide capture from air through some collectors the size of shipping container which consist of fans that directs the CO2 to chemical reactor that binds the CO2 and in the process liquefies it and then directed underground to the rocks.Just like trees and plants that capture carbon dioxide and store it inside their leaves ,stems and roots.A full unit of direct carbon captures that captures 1 million tone of CO2 equals 40 million trees.Depending on the unit you want one tone cost $500 - 600 to remove CO2 and the cost is going down due to using modern chemical reactor.It;s worth the cost for Nations like Kenya that face severe water shortages due to global warming

So you think the Chinese give it for free.. a credible government means the ExIm Bank (th lender) can be confident with country's credit-worthiness and that takes work.. put it this way, you got Fuliza from Saf for say 3k and took your love out on a date, bought her kuku, drinks or whatever.. did Safaricom pay for the bill..? I think we ought to learn to pay credit where it's due.. what Uhuru's government has accomplished the past 10 years no other country in Africa can.. not any time soon.. ata uko kwenu if you're Somalian by descent, the government in Mogadishu or the monarchies in Arabia can ever replicate what you blatantly attempt to dismiss off..

I salute Uhuru, unlike other presidents who developed specific parts of Kenya, Uhuru took it as his responsibility to develop every part of this country. He implemented so many projects which had stalled for decades. May God bless our 4th president.

When I look away from the loans (Which we cannot avoid for those like me who understand a little how an economic system works) I thank the post 2002 governments for our main roads. Darn. Kibaki - roads. Importation of motorcycles.
