Last time I was there we tried to buy some tea from 2 guys at the side of the road. The price seemed a bit high so we called another guy over from the other side of the road. We asked him how much his tea was and his exact words were "whatever they have said is also my price". We decided it was a cartell and drove off. We bought some tea from a very sweet lady a bit further up the road. I also remember thinking to buy a live chicken from the side of the road but decided it was too far to Nairobi to have a live animal in the car. Maybe I will do that another time. That day we ended up at a lodge at the foot of Mount Longonot. Great memories.

Kericho is so beautiful and it's ALWAYS raining or just VERY cold and gloomy. Can you imagine that with all that tea plantations you see in that part, Bomet county has more acreage of land under tea plantations than any other county in Kenya? By the way, Next time you are in Kericho town, take the road that goes to James Finlays Flowers/ Kericho golf club and drive to the interior even for about 30 minutes. You'll be amazed with the beauty in that side. Don't worry about the road, they are tarmacked nowadays. Ps: I love the song selection in all your videos.

Currently live in Kericho; it really is as beautiful as they say. The weather is excellent (if you don't mind the rain), the food is fresh, cheap, and organic, the water is super clean (we drink our water straight from the tap without fear of disease), the air is clean and non-polluted, and the people just lovely. Kericho is a haven of tranquillity and one of Kenya's most agreeable towns. Its surrounds are blanketed by a thick patchwork of manicured tea plantations, each seemingly hemmed in by distant stands of evergreens, and even the town center seems as orderly as the tea gardens. With a pleasant climate and a number of things to see and do, Kericho makes for a very calming couple of days.
