I think the “A Nickels Worth Bible” has quite a nice ring to it. Huge missed opportunity on the part of Thomas Nelson.

I love the grain on that one! I just received the brown leathersoft and its a decent imitation leather. Translation aside, I think this is one of my favorite layouts.

I've enjoyed watching for some time. From one "christian nerd" to another, love those frames bro! I know your hats are something alot of the viewers look forward to changing up, but as an optician 🤓, naturally I look forward to the frames.

Thomas Nelson is crushing it with the MacLaren series 😁

That is a nice looking Bible. It appears similar in quality to a Schuyler for a few dollars less. I like the Schuyler font better. But that’s just my opinion.

I think the one big “ball drop” on this design is lumping the translator notes in with the cross references. MANY people use the NKJV because of those brilliant translator notes. Having them lumped in makes it really hard to find. The Quentel hits it out of the park by putting them in their own area of the page separate from the cross references.

So, did you lend or give them one of your premium (Corvette) Bibles?
@AFrischPerspective3 жыл бұрын
😂 I didn't have one to lend him at the house. So I let him use my newest NASB that had been sent for review. Not a Corvette, but still a very nice little Bible.

There's a place on Etsy called "Rusticjournals" great bibles wrapped in leather. i have 2 and i love them.she does custom orders also.I really like these Maclaren bibles,but a little too spendy for me right now. Thanks.Another great vid.

Great video. Awesome bible but that accent color would drive me nuts. Why not black? or if you must a dark color. If I could fine a verse by verse black letter large print NKJV reference without any accent colors Premium leather I would buy it tomorrow. Don't think it exists. I am not picky, LOL God bless.

NEW Thomas Nelson's advertising of their new lines of premium Bibles: "Words of Christ in black for a reading experience that is easy on your eyes throughout Scripture. The black text, improving readability". AT LAST... They did say that! Remember brethrens: Red Letters - AGAINST Word of God...

I think preaching bible said 11.5 FONT. Probably was 10.5. Most Nelson large print is 10.5. But comfort print aids readability. Nelson also has 36 GSM on most PREMIER BIBLES.. but w/o the heft of 36 GSM on previous Quentel. Also different goatskin on different premium bibles. But always a pleasant surprise to me. Almost all Nelson PREMIER has a version of QUENTEL ..2 column layout. Hard to improve on such success.

Spurgeon is a way better known preacher than Mclaren (whom I’ve never heard of before), but I guess they can’t use it since Holman already has the Spurgeon Bibles.

I love the Spurgeon CSB. I've wondered why Everhard hasn't gotten with one of the publishers and put together a Jonathan Edwards SB. That could be cool.

Good point. And maybe they didn't want people to think it contains Spurgeon study notes.

You’d think they’d make Bibles using sheepskin instead of goatskin. Just sayin’

This has nothing to do with Alexander Maclaren. What a rip off and deceptive marketing ploy. I'm very frustrated by this. My wife loves Alexander Maclaren and I was excited to get this for her but it literally has nothing to do with Maclaren.

Chinese made? It's easy to see. Cheaply made. Washy, like TBS premium Bibles made by Printcorp are washy as well. TBS have switched from Jognbloed Netherlands to Printcorp, so the quality is low now. It's not that Princorp is bad. They only fullfiil TBS orders. The paper used is gray and dismally, not cream-ivory (as it is in Jognbloed's). Ink is put a few, and it's even unclear printed with that dribs and drabs. So the Holy text is printed gray and unclear (displeasing). Reviewed Bible's paper and print text is really great! Hey, notes are deceving strongly there (Bros, avoid 100% of the Critic•al text). And remember, is that from China with a pile of chemicals...? More, they harshly persecute our brothers and sisters in faith, worshippers of Jehovah God! They demand to change the Bible in Chinese language there... And Belarussian Printcorps' Bibles is an eco-product. It is an old Soviet school of eco and trustworthy production for a low price for people (there was neither Capitalism, nor egoism×greediness). But they produce Bibles of low quality now (according to the demands of TBS, of cause). For examle, Cambridge and so on produce their Bibles at Printcorp as well. So I would buy neither. Brethren, actually you need only one good regular Bible. And sometimes compact Bible/NT edition. And maybe extra one good special Bible for deep studies (especially for brothers, the real men). But so called Study Bibles aren't needed> $ and distruction with waisting a lot of your precious time (read W.Tyndale's about, please). Jehovah Almighty God will suggest you what you really need, pray for that. Brethren, didn't you notice: premium Bibles simply spoil Christians. All the time they think and meditate about the leather and art-gild of their Bibles, but not about the very Word of God. So stick to the Holy Scriptures, REAL Word, not Critical! That is the base of our faith and our protection...
