The past few months I have been in a gothic mood. And ever since I read Gideon the Ninth, now I am in a skeleton mood. Aka I want dead things and necromancy. And I don't have a lot of books on that. I am currently rereading The Bone Witch, a book I have been meaning to return to for a while and with the intention to actually continue the series. I am also hoping to pick up Harrow the Ninth today to begin after I finish this one. I also ordered in a book called Tea with death which is a poetry collection involving death herself, witches, a blackbird and more. All the best for November!

I have read Vita Nostra. I thought I would love it because it sounded so interesting. Just wait, it got so bizarre, too bizarre and was maddening, to me at least. It was just too weird , too much. Perhaps something was lost in the translation. I actually finished it then threw it away. Just looking at it made me mad. Recently another book invoked the same uncomfortable frustrations, The Starless Sea. I hope you have better luck, interested in seeing what you think.

Summer Sons is already out. It was released at the end of September. I'm currently reading it and it's pretty good. I'm finding the writing to be a bit too dense, though. It's taking me a while to get through. But the story is captivating. If you've read and liked The Raven Cycle, you'll likely enjoy it. Curious to hear your thoughts on it. Addie La Rue is great. I personally really liked it, but I do think it's a bit overhyped. I love her earlier books like This Savage Song way more even though this one is objectively better in a literary sense. Hope you enjoy it!

I didn't like addie larue, but it's good when you want to read a book where nothing is actually happening but you love whimsical, atmospheric scenery and writing. I want to reread the secret history too, and I'm really curious about vita nostra, maybe I'll read that one next after I finish if we were villains!
