Adding What Moves the Dead to the earthy gothic book section ❤ I love that one the most out of the 6 T Kingfisher books I’ve read. Again you’ve done a great job keeping your autumn recommendations fresh and timely with all the newer books you’ve been reading!

One of my favorite books to recommend heading into spooky season: Gideon the Ninth It’s a bit more fantasy/sci-fi than spooky, but it does definitely lean into creepy horror at times. The first book in the series is a murder mystery that takes place in a creepy castle. Book two has a lot more sci-fi horror elements. Be prepared for a little body horror in that one. And then the third book is like slice of life in a dystopian world. The fourth book will be out next year. Fair warning, the books are pretty confusing upon first reading them. But once you figure it all out, you’ll understand it better on a reread.

My spooky autumnal season books so far have been the classics Frankenstein & Dracula, The Hacienda & Mexican Gothic. Next up are Rebecca, Slewfoot, Dark Voyage, Tender is the Flesh & The Turn of the Screw. Those I physically have and will get to, sooooo many more are noted in my TBR. It never ends! 😝

I recommend Thornhedge by T. Kingfisher. It's an earthy feeling and dark (but not too dark ) Sleeping Beauty re-telling with quite a twist, it's not too long either.

Thank you for this great recommendations vid. Love your ghost 👻 mug. I'm looking for paranormal or urban fantasy books, like The Others, Patricia Briggs, or even Dresden Files. I do love ghosts, vamps, werewolves, and long series. They do not need to be 5 🌟 books, Ilona Andrews is a favorite too. I need more! Please 🙏

Every time I hear about the book Morgan Is My Name, it makes me think of a book called I Am Morgan Le Fey by Nancy Springer. I’m curious if the two are similar at all (aside from them being about the same legends and characters). I never read that one, but I did read I Am Mordred by Springer. I remember enjoying it, but it’s been years since I read it. I want to check out Morgan Is My Name. It sounds fantastic
