Sheridan Le Fanu is an Irish writer from the 1800s. Carmilla was first published as a short story/novella in another book called In A Glass Darkly. It has inspired a number of films.

I’ve just started delving into the classics and origins of horror and gothic literature and film and wowowow I mean I’ve always liked and enjoyed the stories of Dracula and Frankenstein, Dr Jekyll, Dorian Gray etc etc and how fascinating it is that they were written literally centuries ago and yet we still adore and recreate and try to bring these stories into current times although the classics are always the best. But also the horror movies and the hammer productions and it’s sooo fascinating. And don’t even get me started on the idea of the devil and dark magic and paranormal and witches!!pagans, witchcraft, the salem trials, Wicca, herbs, crystals, spirits and the legends of Halloween, dead walking the earth. there’s just so much to learn and read and listen to.

I completely agree, i also started reading gothic classics this year. Honestly they are so interesting! I love seeing how much effect they have and making connections with other stories makes me feels like Sherlock 😂

Ooh I am really interested in alls well, of course because of the shakespeare mentions in it. And I have been meaning trying something by that author and think it could be more approachable than bunny for me. I love if we were villains. Not to sound like a broken record but SHAKESPEARE. But the dark academia vibes and complicated friendships are so good in it. Ooh I have the cabin at the end of the world by paul tremblay and want to try it soon. And Carmilla! I need to read it and that edition is beautiful. Clown in a cornfield is on my to try list too. I am also going to be continuing my tbr throughout the rest of the year :D

I honestly think that The Library of the Dead I will be surprised if you read it fully and enjoy it. I read it about 6 months ago and it was not the best book I have read, I hope you do like it, but I will be surprised so I would try it first
