Following the Stokholm syndrome concept in Criminal (Act1), this song is based on Plato’s theory hence the heaven and devil scenes. Nobody does it like Taemin, the inventor of TPop.

TaeMin dancers embody his music and TaeMin's artistry quite perfectly. The sound & choreo of "IDEA:" is a real good contrast to "Criminal". Both songs sound (production wise) dark and visually too. Though "IDEA:'s" lyrics sounds like how the relationship of "Criminal" began cuz of how he says "You are my messiah, You are my (killing me)". And the line "Before I know it I redefined me".

I am so glad you are back Karen 💕 also Idea is based on Plato's theory of Forms and Taemin is trying to find his other form and let go of his previous form/Ego. he wants to redefine himself!! Thats the reason it's pronounced as I-DAE-AH(Greek) instead of the English pronounciation. Criminal was him fighting himself and constantly in denial of all the voices inside him but can't help but love the other side of him because that is still him and Idea is him finally letting it go and completely embracing his other Ego. The line 'the night I cut you out of my heart and I finally open my eyes' that's him saying he no longer tries to push it all down Also criminal set can be interpreted as Hell and from what I read Idea can be interpreted as Heaven and the bar - cafe place is a meeting place in Heaven(confirmed by the Mv director) and all those people have red paint on their faces and Taemin doesn't cuz Taemin is who is not dead has come to heaven!! Okie I think I have rambled enough 🤣🤣 I am happy to be corrected or if people have any other theories please let me know 😊 I hope people appreciate this masterpiece because the concept is quite intricate!!
