Hi! We are Phil and Alex! After leaving California in an RV, traveling full time, and helping our littlest with an open heart surgery, we've settled down in Tennessee. We found our homestead land and are learning each day how to live a more sustainable life. We are a family grown through the miracle of Adoption & Infertility Treatments. Our precious daughters are Kinsley Grace (6 years old), Callie Jo (4 years old), and Cassidy Drew (1). 😭😭😭 We got our first dog this year too. We had been searching and applying and hoping for months. So many applications and so few dogs. Then I happened upon this dog. She was not cute looking but her personality profile was exactly what we were looking for. We adopted her and she is SOOOO cute now that her hair has grown in. She is so kind. So smart. Such perfect energy. I can't believe how much she adds to our family dynamic and I am blown away at how much I love her because I wasn't prepared for that.

I am crying 😢 for Phil right now and your girls. The look on his face 😊 was priceless 🤣 😂. Oh I couldn't be more happy for your family ❤. After all your family has been through it will be wonderful having a dog for your girls to grow up with. My kids never were without a dog from the time they were babies I remember laying them on my St. Bernard they would fall asleep on her. She weighed 140 lbs and never moved a muscle when she had one of my girl's laying on her. She was my gentle giant. Dog's help kids not to get sick as much as families who don't have animals around. Oh I just am so happy that you are getting a dog 🐕 ☺

Me too @Brenda Snider, I'm crying happy the whole video. I'm an American, and lived in America until I was 19. My very first puppy I was only a 2 week old baby when my puppy was born. He was a black labrador standard beagle mix. My mom and dad named him Stinker, because his farts sent everyone gagging🤪😰🤮😂😂😂‼️ But I didn't mind, I feed him my spaghetti, and macaroni & cheese meals all the time from my high chair, so I think it was that causing his gas farts😂😂. He passed away unexpectedly when we went on a summer camping trip, and were away for 1 week when I was 3yrs. old. The neighbor was caring for Stinker during that time when Stinker died from choking on a chicken bone, so be careful please🙏🙏😓💯‼️After that we had 6 dogs at one time from when I was 4 yrs. old, most of those dogs passed away after 10-12 yrs. of life, but our oldest dog, after Stinker, we named Baby Bear. He was a miniature beagle and pekingese mix lived until he was 22yrs. old and I was 26yrs. old. I moved away to Japan to marry my Japanese highschool sweetheart at 19, so my dad was caring for Baby Bear until I was 26. I haven't owned a dog since that, and I'm going on 48yrs. old, and I'm still living in Japan. I've only owned 2 cats after that, 1st cat a male named Oreo Why, because his hair markings was the alphabet letter Y on his back , and now our cat right now being 16yrs. old, and a female I named Oreo Cookie. Still I'd like to own a dog again. They're the Best nap time pals, but even my cats crawl into the covers with me to lay in the crook of my arm🥰😂😂💯‼️ Prayers Emmy dog works out for Phil and Alex family💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏🙏‼️👨‍👩‍👧‍👧🇺🇸🇯🇵🌏🗻🗾

You can't go wrong with a Golden Retriever! Our kids grew up with one and he was the absolute best dog you could ever ask for- I still miss him terribly! A few years ago, we rescued two mixed breed pups that had been fostered together. It was an adjustment for them at first, as they'd been moved around quite a bit, but they have been a wonderful addition to our empty-nest family. It's been good for them to have each other and they've had no problem at all bonding with us. I am excited for you!

We just had to put our Golden Retriever, "Gracie Girl," down last month but she was 15 years old and I can tell you, we've had all kinds of dogs but Golden's are absolutely the best especially with your little one! They are so gentle and loving!

We have always had Border Collies and they are wonderful dogs, our last one standing is 14yrs old now and failing so we wanted a dog but a dog that wasn't so learning obsessed t, we now have a 4mnth old Golden Retriever called Sonny. He is amazing, so clever, intelligent, gentle and loving, he loves everyone and everything. His pal is a kitten of the same age from a cross the way that isn't well looked after and they both love to play with one another . He, Sonny, is a joy. I have 3 rescued dogs (4 total). We got our puppy at the end of May. I am, hands down and no fear, 100% a pit bull person. 3 of my dogs are pit bulls (1 pure, 2 mixes). Puppy is mixed with rottweiler. He tried to eat my house! Watching this video, he tried to smother me because I cried (he's an emotional support and service dog). So glad you guys got a dog! It's going to be such an amazing experience. You won't remember a time without them soon. Take it from someone who has never not had a dog in their life.

How wonderful for your family!! When the theme parks closed down here in Orlando, we got so lucky to adopt a 4 year old yellow lab who had worked at sea world in their pet show. She is the most amazing dog ever and we were so glad that our first family dog was a grown up and a pure bred Lab! Your story is so similar to us, that it just happen to be the perfect scenario and a dog breed that we wanted without having to get a puppy! I can’t wait to see what happens 🥰

I'm so happy for you guys, can't wait to see how it all goes. we've had two rescue dogs and the love they bring is unmatched, our little fur ball is called Tia and she has been a blessing for my daughter as she was diagnosed with anxiety. Without any training she plonks herself on my daughter the first time she saw her having an attack and clamed her down without any prompting from us, and has been at her side ever since. I started crying when I saw Phil's reaction. As someone who wished for a dog my entire life, who finally was able to have that dream come true after I got married and bought a house was the greatest event of my life. I am currently sitting here with our newest puppies, our 3rd and 4th dogs, and cannot imagine life without dogs in it. Starting with an adult dog is a great entry point for your family. You couldn’t pick a more perfect breed for being around children. We have had 3 Golden Retrievers and each one has been wonderful and gentle around children. Obviously all dogs have different temperaments but fingers crossed she is your Forever Dog! What a Lucky Dog xx

Currently on our 16th rescue dog. Four of those 16 are still part of my family. The rest are all in doggy heaven. I have been adopting rescue dogs since I was a teenager (now 53). I will not stop. Unconditional love - the best love there is.

We've had golden retrievers when I was coming up we had four of them we lived out in the country and they are good with kids these were their good nature dogs and my husband also is totally blind he had a Golden Retriever as a guide dog that dog was so smart and when he died I cried my eyes out I love golden retrievers and that's a good pick for these kids train them and love them kiss them hold them and they will love you right back
