I had an older dog as a teenager that survived heartworms. It was a long process and he got so sick for a while. Rice and ground beef was the only thing he would eat, keep down, and keep weight on him. Positive thoughts to Emily while she's getting better ♥

I feel like the only reason Emmy growled when you picked Chloe up was more telling you guys she (Emmy) wasn't going back to the Rescue place. I am so happy Emmy is happier now that Chloe is with her. That is so fun for them both. 💗💗💗 I had a pup who was heartworm positive. We had no clue when we got her. She was an amazing pupper for 15+ years with us. We don't know if she was 1yr or 2yr old when we adopted her. We have no clue. But we got 15+ years with her. So stick with the heartworm meds (once you find one she can have). They do work.

Alex has the patience of a saint! We have two Golden Retrievers and Alex trying to get them both to get off the bed and lay down was just hilarious and joyful for us to watch. Phillip asking the dogs if they were living their best life and kissing them was just everything!! God bless you guys, these dogs are perfect for your family! Remember when Cassidy came home and there was a chicken called Phillip and it turned out to be a girl? 😂😂😂 I think you guys need some boy pets just so Phillip has male company 😂😂😂.

I have two goldens. I have one bed that they share. My dogs prefer to sleep together. Especially with Emily’s issues she may prefer to sleep with Chloe. Goldens shed all the time however Ive found that whenever they go through life stresses (surgical procedures, being left alone for longer than usual, etc.) they shed more. Love your family, including your dogs!

Those cotton/fleece hoodies are literally the most comfortable hoodies I have ever worn and I am wearing mine tonight too Alex! I love the way Cassidy says ballet! "Bayay!" It's so super cute! I am glad that Chloe is doing so good and adjusting so well to being in such a loving home and healthy environment and that her and Emily are doing so good and love having each others company!

As a former mum of a Labrador/Golden Retriever.. May i suggest the Hammock beds for the girls. It gets them off the floor and Lab/Goldens develop arthritis earlier. Also they are easier to clean.. just hose them off in the sunshine

She is losing hair because of hormone changes. And a little stress. You have done such a wonderful thing! 12 years ago we drove 5 hours to get our precious deer chihuahua, 6 months after that we rescued two sister shepherd/collie puppies, and 3 years later we rescued 2 preemie puppies from a box found in a Walmart parking lot during a winter storm. So we have so much love to share with them!!

We have two goldens, ten years old, we love them so much. We had one for six years but decided Max needed a buddy because he was so lonely when we had to leave the house. He would just howl, but when we adopted Kirby all the howling stopped. I am so glad they have each other, and by the way the both sleep in our bed. We are empty nesters, so they are our babies. Dogs are such a blessing.

Goldens are truly the BEST! We have a goldendoodle, Holly, that’s 99% golden and she’s the most wonderful dog ever. So great with our 4 yr old daughter, our cat, our bunnies. Just the sweetest girl. So happy to see you adopted Chloe as well as Emily 🥰

I have a Golden and I have just made it a daily habit to brush him every morning when I take him outside for a walk . He is healthy but still loses a good bit of hair especially during a change of season. Grooming is good for them to get used to people touching them and it is good for your house cleaning routine as well 😊

Love your family! Crazy retriever lady here try using to separate words for getting down off the bed and laying down. Dogs don’t generalize when it comes to human words and they can get confused. We use “off” to get get down off the bed or couch and “down” to lay down but you can use what ever words you wants. You guys are doing a great job!!

Retrievers have an outercoat and an undercoat. The undercoat will start to shed in late winter or early spring in anticipation of warm weather. Then in early autumn, the undercoat will begin to grow back in again, ready for the winter. Just keep combing or brushing them on a regular basis to keep matting and shedding to a minimum.

I had a Golden Retriever for 7 wonderful amazing years until she tragically got an aggressive cancer and passed. She actually came from my then friend and now husbands family. Goldens are such a special part of both of our lives, and there isn't a breed more sweet, loving and NEEDY for attention and constant touch as a golden. My golden (her name was Vera) and I had such a deep bond and our own language. She helped me through some of the toughest parts of my life so far and I look forward to the day we can move out of our rental home and get another sweet caring friend to teach us more lessons about endless, unconditional love.

try Salmon and paddock oil in their food. You can get this on Amazon. It is good for their skin and is supposedly lessons shedding, skin irritation, allergies (which Goldie's can have), good for the heart and joints. I love the bed antics. I have a Labradoodle and I've lost. She gets up in bed with me and has to be by my side. Do they follow Phil around more? He seems much calmer when the dogs are with him! Mine does the same with me. Calms my anxiety! So happy that you have these 2 beauties!

I’m so happy to see that the golden girls are getting along so well. I was laughing so much while you were trying to put them to bed! It was also so cute that they were following Phillip back and forth as he worked. 😂🥰 I’m praying that Emily’s medicine starts helping her get healthy and feel better soon. ,Goldens are double coated so if they have come from a cold environment into a warm, they will shed also stress and or illness and meds will also make them shed......I had 5Border Collies together and the shedding was bad in the summer and spring...... They are beautiful girls....I now have a 6mnth old golden boy called Sonny Jim and he's a monster but I adore him. Poor Emily 💖 my husband and i rescued a yellow lab that they didnt think was going to survive the heart work treatment. But he is happy and carefree as can be today (minus 1 eye courtesy of glaucoma) and you would never know that he was near death and had that struggle. I hope she bounces back like him too!!!

Goldens in general shed a ton . I'd brush them everyday . Goldens are the best . Our golden max passed away at 3.5yrs old from cancer . It's been almost 1.5yrs since he passed. Once we build our garage we will be getting another one
