Hi! We are Phil and Alex! After leaving California in an RV, traveling full time, and helping our littlest with an open heart surgery, we've settled down in Tennessee. We found our homestead land and are learning each day how to live a more sustainable life. We are a family grown through the miracle of Adoption & Infertility Treatments. Our precious daughters are Kinsley Grace (6 years old), Callie Jo (4 years old), and Cassidy Drew (1). I'm sp proud if u both.I rescued my golden .I rescuded before they were going ti euthanize her. She had been bred by family that ket her out ..they ki ed on highway. She got hit. My boss needed the bilks paid so I paid them and took her. I lived her for fourteen tears best decision I ever made

Poor girl, I can't imagine the desperation she felt trying to get herself and her babies out of that kennel. Thank God they were found and some managed to survive. Emily is definitely lucky to have found you guys in the end tho, you can tell she finally feels loved💕

I just cannot fathom how someone could abuse a helpless animal. I was just in tears listening to Emily’s story. Seeing that she tore your doorframe to pieces gives a glimpse of how terrified she was in that kennel. It’s amazing how resilient animals are. She is just the sweetest soul, you can see it ! You can tell that she is truly happy and that she was meant for your family. ❤️

Rescue dogs are always more appreciative of their new owners. They have suffered and are so joyful to be in a safe, loving environment. They live in the moment, they don't dwell on the past. But they still have that PTSD. But over time, they get much better. Our dog is 14 and we've had her about12 years. We made a big deal over het collar and tags, and told her the tags mean she is home. She loves for me to shake her tags and remind her she's home.. She really does understand the correlation that is what the collar and tags represent. Enjoy your new family member. We had to deal with heartworms also, but she got better. Now she's an old dog, and has elderly dog issues, but we love her dearly.

We rescued a black lab 11 years ago from a shelter, he's 12 now and doing good for his age. He is the love of our life-best dog ever. Soooo glad you rescued Emily she is just beautiful!! Everyone please adopt, don't shop!

Love that you did this! We rescued two cats that were surrendered due to neglect. They each had to have an eye removed. It has been the most rewarding experience ever! They are such a joy in our family ❤

Sadly, this sounds like a case of the lady breeder being the dog lover and general caretaker, with the animal-neutral turned abusive owner having to take on all of the stress of running a kennel when she got ill, and then taking it out on the dogs. I'm glad the breeder in your town felt the need to check up on them, things could have gone much worse. And Emily is such a sweetie!

She truelly found the perfect home! I think while looking at how she acted when Cassidy gave her food from her bowl it like made her feel safe and cherished, even though she had the food in her bowl, this little tiny human brought it even closer to her and wanted to make sure she ate. Its like i saw her relax a little. She has flourished so much since she came home with you! She is already a completely different dog! And i think in just a few months you won't even recognise her anymore from the dog that first walked in to your home! Also love what callie did when she first got home! Must have been so healing for her! Just this little human laying down with her, staying by her side, letting her know she is safe and not alone and is loved! Just keeping her company.

Holy cow! OVERNIGHT, Cassidy has become a little person! That hair, that coat, the walking, the talking! 🥰🥰🥰 My 12 y/o cockapoo does the same when I leave her home alone... She moved in almost 1 year ago in February. She's seems to be getting better being alone, but Emily's reaction is our goal. 😍

We rescued a Springer Spaniel. He was 4 yrs old. The breeder had so many dogs he couldn't afford to feed them, he was very thin. A horse farm, about 3 hrs away, told my sister about him. They had cows, horses, etc. A full working farm. They rescued Sammy to give him a safe loving place to stay until they found the right family to adopt him. We were so blessed to have this handsome, loving dog. He loves everyone but hates to be in enclosed spaces...the car is the worse.. He does have separation anxiety but my roommate has a dog & he's got a buddy to be with if we leave the house. We also have a house/dog sitter if we go out of town. She stays with the dogs in our home. Our story is very similar to Emily's. Bless your family & Emily. 💕

Emily’s story is heart wrenching! That poor precious girl, and all the other Goldens who were rescued. Thank God the local breeder went to check on them! We too love Goldens. It was my husband’s dream to own one since he was a boy and he finally does. Ours is a sweet girl too and we have bred her once and plan to breed her again. Her babies went to all friends that we know and keep in touch with, and it’s so wonderful to watch them grow up. I can’t imagine her even having gone through labor alone, so thinking of what Emily had to go through just makes me physically sick. I’m so, so glad she has you now! ❤️

I too struggle with adhd, depression, and anxiety. We got a blue heeler/ Australian shepherd. Let me tell you she is a natural at emotional support and will come comfort me and gives hugs. Best dog I’ve ever owned.

I absolutely love that Philip loved on her after finding the chewed door frame. It’s just heartbreaking to think of how scared she was. Door frames can be replaced. I don’t crate my rescue ever. People think I’m nuts but he is so terrified of being abandoned.

My rescue adult golden had been routinely tied up to a garage, and was traumatized by thunder/lightning storms (in the midwest) repeatedly. I have a good friend who's my vet, and because of my dogs background....the opposite was recommended ....to put her in a crate to help alleviate anxiety. We left the door of it open when we were home, so she could go in whenever she pleased. I always take several days off of work when I get a new dog, just so everyone get's as comfortable as possible during the transition. Everything worked out great. It makes perfect sense to me, that what you ended up doing with Emily worked out well for her (as her background was literally opposite to what my dogs had been). Just shows how important it is to be able to get that hx whenever you can! Thank goodness you had that insight of her situation. For Emily to have heartworm is another telling aspect as to her 'care' (or lack thereof) during her previous life. Emily knows she has a good thing with you guys. Not everyone would go through her treatment....so thank you! My rescue golden was so dear. Her face suddenly turned white after a traumatic situation (literally within days after the trauma).

My dog has separation anxiety and the things that have helped most is letting him have most of the house when we leave & we always make us leaving a good thing by giving him doggy ice cream or a little bit of his favorite canned dog food in his bowl! It has helped a lot!

Emily at the end dragging her tummy is what I call "Frog Dog". What a tragic story on this precious girl. That breaks my heart but I think if you bring Khloe home, Emily will come into herself in a whole new way. A rescue dog does not like to be left alone (from experience) and Khloe would keep Emily company plus they can do what comes natural with dogs and they would be besties. Take care of each other. I really hope you get her! Emily would thank you forever if you did. NO PRESSURE LOL! Thank you for loving her through her anxiety of tearing the door frame apart. That was so sad. I couldn't imagine what was going through her mind. Lesson learned. You guys are the best. Bless you all!

Omgosh I cried big baby tears! 😭 Y’all are such a blessing for her. I’m sure she will be a huge blessing for your family as well. I agree with getting the older dogs. Our 1st family dog is a black pug from a breeder, but she was given to us as a puppy. She was much harder to handle as a puppy than the older dog we inherited when my great uncle passed away. Of course our Harley pug is now almost 11 and is much easier as a senior dog. My kids can’t remember a time without dogs. Our inherited pup is Lil’ Man. He’s an almost 12 yr old Chiweenie and was not used to kids. He was so scared at first because he was used to calm elderly owners. After just a few days, he learned that he LOVED kids because he gets ALL the love. Lol He is the sweetest, most gentle dog I’ve ever owned. Once I finish my degree and my oldest child graduates high school, in the next 4 years, we plan to move further north. Not sure yet if it will be towards Colorado or Tennessee. We need an affordable area because I’m the only one working full time because my husband is disabled. I’m sure I will be looking for a position as a professor at a college/university. Just curious, what colleges/universities are close to y’all’s area?

Thank you for telling her story! I consider my dogs “rescue pups”, found them both on Craigslist. My oldest’s mom was knocked up by the neighborhood stray, so we really don’t know his mix. The owners were just selling the pups to get rid of them at 6.5 weeks. My youngest was house hopping until he came to into my husband and mine’s life, we were his 4th home and he had just turned 5 months old. We love our boys, they are now almost 8 and 3!!! ❤️

One Blessing deserves another. Poor Emily. But now she's in a loving home and is part of a great family. I have a 7 yo Vizsla and he has anxiety too. I talk to him daily before I go to work. And I leave the tv on for him. It eventually turns off and he's ok. He does like to react by pushing the sofa pillows to the floor. But hey, it's ok. And he has two cats, so he isn't alone. He also has his day bed by the front door and his regular bed in the corner of my bedroom.. Oh, he's 85 pounds and a softy. lol....

Our dog Madi grew up with our back door always open. We were always outside with her. When we closed the door she became scared.we did some construction in our home and put her in a bedroom all alone and she scratched up the door frame like Emily did. She was fine to leave her in the house all day but not in a room by herself. Your story brought those memories back. Emily looks like such a sweet girl! Love that you share her with us.

She is so sweet and beautiful. She reminds me of our first family dog, even though ours was a completely different breed. Our Great Pyrenees/lab mix rescue dog had been a mama and was the most gentle and loving dog. She also had heartworm and was successfully tested for that. Enjoy Emily!

One of our dogs has EXTREME separation anxiety, and we tried all of the things until we just left him out to be in the house. I wish we had just tried that in the first place. It would have saved us baseboards, trim, doors, and a couple of large wire kennels. She’s so precious by the way. Dogs are the very best.

I have tears hearing this story. God Bless you for rescuing Emily. Our Goldens went grey young, and they were completely spoiled. I have been searching for an older Golden Retriever as well for over a year or more. The Rescues here in NY only have “Golden- Mixed Breeds” aka Pitbull mix’s. It’s disappointing. With COVID, severe Anxiety Disorder, Agoraphobia, and the loss of my Mom 6 months ago, I feel like I need something help me through this rough time.

If you were to not take Chloe, do you think they would consider adopting her out of state? I am in NY. We have a home in the suburbs with a large yard, 2 houses upstate ( one on a lake, and another in the mountains with several acres) and an additional home in Florida which I rarely travel to. I have 2 small dogs, both rescues. One is 15 and the other is technically my older sisters, so she will be taking her back. Both are under 30 lbs. I have never not had a big dog, and Mom and I were going to look into a puppy for the holiday/new year as my birthday was January 2nd. I’m finishing up my online studies to become a Mental Health Counselor and Grief and Trauma Counselor specializing in children. I would love a dog that I could work with to help me in my therapy. But like I said, they are few and far between around us. I am also looking into getting back to Part Time teaching in a Nursery School. I have not been blessed with children... but even though I am getting older, I still hope to have a baby one day. I didn’t think I wanted to after my Mom passed, but that’s slowly changing. I want some positive things to look forward to.

This is amazing, I live in Costa Rica and I just rescued a German shepherd used for puppies as well. When someone told the owner she wasn’t being taken cared of he said, taker her now or I’ll shoot her. Thankfully the neighbor rescued her and called a shelter where I adopted her. She doesn’t has her front teeth either.

Alex, rescuing Emily is the best thing you could have down. I have 2 rescues and both came from breeding situations. 1 is already special needs... she is deaf and partially blind. I didnt want the puppy stage. I have 2 of the best dogs ever. My lab, her name is Macy and she is 12. The other is a 3 years old great dane.

Emily’s story breaks my heart but I am overjoyed she found you to be her forever home. She will be treated well and have a good life now. Her mama instinct was so strong to try to save her and her babies. I have wanted to rescue a Golden but live in a townhome and don’t have a fenced in yard. MY MOMS DOG CHEWED HER DOOR THE SAME WAY SO SHE GOT HIM ANOTHER DOG AND HE HAS NEVER CHEWED HER HOUSE AGAIN!! We had a golden retriever, raised in a happy, loving home, who barked maybe 5 times in his entire 14.5 years. I think most goldens are quiet. They really are the perfect dogs! We still miss our sweet Sage!

My family rescued a poodle that used to be at a breeders and she also did not bark for several weeks. The first time we heard her bark was when my grandmother had fallen and we had to have an ambulance come take her to the hospital. When she saw the paramedics with my grandmother she barked her pretty little head off. She was protecting my grandmother who was the one who chose her. After that she found her voice anytime she felt my family was threaded. (ie when other people or dogs were around)

Another new dog owner here! I can say if you can do one rescue you can do two. We had intentions on getting a puppy, and a rescue found us and she is so gentle we went through with the puppy and the puppy is amazing because they follow the older dog. He helps her play and she keeps him gentle❤️

Our little family dog was a rescue as well. She had extremely bad anxiety and would crew our walls up. She was 2 years old when I found her. We were her 3rd home. Her nails were a inch and a half long and she was 2 pounds. After we got her and get her all fixed up, she get to 12 pounds. We worked with her and she got a little better with her anxiety. She lived to age 14 years old and past away.

Oh my gosh I have to admit I cried when u told the part about Emily been locked in a cage with her 8 puppy and no water or food she would have been so hungry trying to feed these puppies and I can only imagine all the pain she went though before getting rescued and now she is definitely in the right place with u all because of all the love and affection attention she gets she deserves to live life like a queen with u all now thankyou for sharing ur beautiful dogs story with us and hopefully we see u having a play date with Chloe soon love u guys. The photo at the end of ur video is just beautiful as well

How wonderful that Emily now has a home with your family. That is what I would I would consider a win ,win ! It is hard to understand how anyone could mistreat an animal. What I have come to know about your family is that there's none of that for any animal on your farm. Which gives me so much love for your family. You are just really good stewards.
