What is the issue here ? Did i miss a mod or something ? Sorry for my bad english :D Greetings from Black Forest Germany !!!

Fort John? Military Forts are always named from the last name of a Commander or someone that is being honored. As a military person I find the naming a miss and a little disrespectful.

Suggestion: Hey from Boston here, Boston pride themself in their sport team and is mostly know for their sports team, Boston Celtics who just won a title this year and holds the most championships (TD Garden Celtics/Bruins), Red Sox a historic team with the oldest stadium in mlb (Fenway Park) and you have the Patriots who was a dynasty for majority of the 2000 (Gillette stadium), Would be cool to see if you add a stadium among downtown maybe? Could create cool story among it, like the Fenway park for example that was build in 1912, Thanks for the video!

My idea for the college is Saint John’s College (or Institute, Academy, etc.) Established in 1842, a bishop in the city gave up part of his land to found a college named after Saint John (John the Baptist). It was initially an all-male religious academy but by the 1910s grew to become a quite prestigious medical school. During the late 1980s, the building was expanded to fit the larger growth of students (perhaps named after one of the Cole family members). Fort John’s Hospital was crucially built right down the street - not just due to the central location - but for the quick commute for students at St John’s

How about naming the area "Little Sicily" for daffodil? With many Italians having migrated to Massachusetts, and Fort John being a historic city, it makes sense that Italians would have a neighborhood they call their own. The proximity to the industrial district also fits, as many Italian immigrants worked in the local industries. It’s a fitting tribute to their heritage and contribution to the area.
@northeasturbanist2 ай бұрын
I agree. "Daffodil Downs" reminds me of Bay Village in Boston, an extremely small neighborhood of well preserved federalist rowhouses between the South End and Back Bay, that doesn't see the tourism of some other well-preserved Boston neighborhoods. This neighborhood is also similarly located between downtown and some former industrial areas. The federalist architecture is also the namesake for Federal Hill, Providence's Italian-American neighborhood. So I think Little Sicily fits quite well.

In the US, idk about Europe, some colleges and universities have K-12 affiliate programs. So the elementary and high school could be part of the university. They could have been built with charity by the Cole family. Edit: If possible, I'd like to suggest that a mansion could be built in Coleridge that is the Cole family's estate or as a historical site related to the Cole family.

I know you want to make downtown as dense as possible, but maybe you will find a place for very old European style buildings there? If this is the capital, then I guess it was founded by Dutch or English settlers. A tile or two of old buildings at the waterfront would give this city such a nice vibe in my opinion.
@Infrastructurist2 ай бұрын
Let's see what we can fit there! I have on purpose reserved most of the really beautiful medium-density lvl 5's for downtown already :-)

What if you formalize the union between the school and the park in Bay's End by turning the stretch of Garnet Street between the two into a pedestrian street? With a few props it would be possible to turn this street into a small open-air market for the residents.
@endless1234872 ай бұрын
Something I thought about and already posted in the last video, is if you want to add the cathedral to the city? Boston, as well as many other east coast cities, feature churches within the city centre/downtown, which can, but don't have to be surrounded by high density buildings. I also quite like the look of modern high density buildings compared directly to their old counterparts. E.g., New York, but also Boston's Trinity Church.
@ghassenjabri9592 ай бұрын
why don't you change the office building to be a college, adding maybe 300 or 250 capacity. the same way you did with the hospital. As well as the municipal building, change it to be offices

I would find it interesting if a large/important company had its HQ in the city center, possibly with a well-known/impressive tower which is the largest in the city. Near the city you could then place production buildings or similar of the company. The company could then be an important company such as BMW for Munich, for which the city is known. It is the main employer in the area and an important economic factor. Which would also solve the job problem.

Some ideas for road names: - Jungmann Street: named after Karl Jungmann, German immigrant that developed a railway industry in the region - Palace Street: used to be a street full of mansions back in the days, now they're mostly old tall and expensive buildings (then you actually have to put one or two old mansions that may serve as cultural centers, museums) - Republic of Chile Street: in my city a lot of streets are named after countries or cities for X reasons, maybe because there's a community from said country. I thought of Chile because it sounds nice, could be any country or place. - St. Paul Street: a lot of streets have Saint names - Damascus Street: Syrian immigrants used to live there - O'Riley Street: One of the city's first mayors, James O'Riley - Circus Street: The old Circus was established there

I love that you are adding more municipal buildings; one of my favorite things I like to add when detailing! For some added realism and detail, you should make a custom vehicle lot on the outskirts of the industries and or by the empty area next to Bays end and across the street from the municipality office filled with some old garbage trucks, mail trucks, and police cars kept in reserve.

would be nice if you added a vineyard between the downtown area and the expensive housing district towards the edge of the island that have not been constructed yet. I wasn't sure if that was a thing in that state but apparently it is and I think it could be a cool filler in the more steep hills.
@willt49802 ай бұрын
idea : in the daffodil area, you should remove one of the houses on the part with the steep hill and place in a viewing station cause i can imagine it would be a really nice view from the place. i would say the house furthers to right (from street view) would be the best one.

Hey Infra, the city is turning out great! I was thinking you could build some more social housing projects, since the city is an economic hub. Maybe you could even build it either close to existing high-end development or prime building land. It might have a backstory of being a controversial project, since the city is using a desirable location, however the need for more affordable housing is major. Maybe the workers unions of the port and the upper classes of the city clash with each other through their local politicians. And the projects get named after one of the unions to thank them for fighting for the large but decreasing working class of the city.

A name for the 'Official Winter' district could be something like, Oakings; as possibly a large industrial company called 'Oakings' used to own a sizable portion of the area and this name could act as a historic district term. Another reason why this possibly could work, is possibly because Oak avenue extended to 'Winter' and of Oak park in this area.

Like where they kept cattle for a food supply, or perhaps where they made all the bricks for the fort, or the trees they used to make ships. So then something like Stockton (the old stock yard) Brixton (the brick factory) or Shipwood (the forrest that was there). Maybe these specific names are not the best examples, perhaps someone with more fort knowledge could provide a better one.

A name suggestion for Daffodil or Lakeside - "Brackendale" was once a small village surrounded by thick bracken-filled forests, named from the Old English words bræc (bracken) and denu (valley). In the 19th century, wealthy merchant Sir Reginald Cartwright, inspired by the area's supposed medicinal bracken, built a sanatorium to transform the village into a wellness retreat. Though the healing properties were exaggerated and the sanatorium failed, the village expanded and eventually became a city suburb. Today, remnants of Sir Reginald’s estate and the wild bracken still remind locals of its curious past - including the hospital that now bears his name.
