The algorithm is really scary!! I'm making the exact same switch as you this week, from the S22 Ultra to 16PM. I've been Android my whole life (and Windows for PC), but recently I've been using Mac for work as I feel that it gives the development experience of a Linux based system, with the polish of a Windows system... It just works. And that's kind of how I view all of Apple's stuff: it just works. There's very little, if any, fiddling around I have to do to get things running correctly. As for the phone, since I've entered the Apple ecosystem and have such an easy time synching things between my iPad and my Mac, I've found myself really resenting how I can't shoot something over to my phone (easily) or vice versa. And Apple products just feel solid, they feel sleek and like I feel like tech should feel. some of the things you said, like the navigation problems, I agree with. The UX sometimes leaves a little to be desired, but that also might be partly me stuck in my own ways and less willing to give Apple's way a chance than anything.

You can swipe from middle of the screen to bottom on the iPhone and it will act as a "back" button on most social media apps.
@AlexNaunceff3 ай бұрын
To me it works only with instagram. WhatsApp, Fb Messenger, browsers, banking apps etc don't have that. I recently found out that in some (not all ) you can swipe from the left edge (and i mean the very edge) to go back but that is unpractical with one hand (on the Max version), so still believe android does it better
@Abel-Harland2 ай бұрын
@@AlexNaunceff there’s two types of windows in IOS: There’s pages (displayed with a back arrow in the top left corner), the gesture to go back one page is to swipe from the left side of the screen (you can also swipe from the right side to go forward one page). And then there’s pop up windows, these are displayed with an X in the top right corner, or a pill shaped “handle” on the top middle of the pop up. If the pop up window has an X you can swipe down from anywhere on the screen, If the pop up has a pill shaped handle you have you swipe down from the handle itself. I guess you could say it’s more like a desktop UI in that regard.

The difference with the new phones didnt push me to switch. However since 3 months now, I have been trying to switch. I tried s24 ultra, Xiaomi 14t, pocco f6, pixel 8pro. I loved them but in the end I decided to stick to Iphone. Just for few reasons. -how the apps are integrated into the ios Eg. The only smartphones I’ve had have been an iPhone for the past 10 years, started off with a few basic phones from Verizon before switching to Straight Talk, who ironically enough Verizon has owned for a while. I’ve had the 4, 5S, 6, 8 Plus, and now I’m on the 15. All of my phones have been reliable outside of the 4 but even with the problems I had on that one (it was old for the time that my dad gave me as a phone to have) at least it still worked okay. I’ve always said this about Android phones, they focus more on the bells and whistles while the iPhone is focused on security, reliability, longevity, and functionality.

you aren't clear enough on the camera part... so the iphone's camera is better because it records video better for you to have the options for video editing? or because it simply looks good? which is it. i asked this because of the 2 biggest tech youtubers, one says the android camera quality is better and the other says the iphones camera is better. i also ask this because its shooting video that makes for better video editing does not make it the better camera since that has nothing to do with how good the video looks for people viewing it on the phones only, which is 99% of users that don't do video editing for professional work.
@AlexNaunceff2 ай бұрын
To put it in a few words for video (basic), iphone is better, it has less sharpness (looks more natural) and better colours (although the colours are personal taste). But for better results Log is an obvious choice. When it comes to Photo, android does look better in terms of colours (again personal taste here), although sharpness i think the iphone does a slightly better job since it can shoot 12 OR 24 MP default while the android you can only shot 12MP and if you want the full sensor resolution you will have to toggle that option. At the end, as i mention in the video, they got to a point where they are almost the same, the only difference will be how you would like the processing of the photo (colours/sharpness/dynamic range) to look like, and you can search for examples online for that. The only reason an iPhone is significantly better for video is the Log capability. If you don't care about it, than just look at online examples and chose the one that looks better for you (without post editing) Hope this helps.

Thanks for the comment, let me reply to some of your point. The integration plays a big role in why I chose to switch and to give you an example i can copy something on mac and paste on the iphone. That is like magic to me, since none of that is available on win/android (aside from using a samsung phone with a samsung laptop which i touched in the video, but samsung laptops are just bad) When i mention the android phones are similar i was referring to the integration with other apps being the same, sometimes really good and sometimes bad, because the apps are not maid for a phone in particular but for Android as I system. And a final point regarding the apps outside of AppStore. I don't intend to use any of those anyway as i never did on android either. I feel like there is too much risk and i have way to much sensitive info on my phone to risk it. So i'm sticking with whatever can by verified by google/apple. However (although not 100% sure) there are discussion of apple allowing you to do that in the future as well, due to the EU regulation (nothing for sure yet) Anyway you have valid points and i totally understand them. Had this experience 3 years ago. It'll be hard to go back to android after using an IOS. Reason why I switched is because I got tired upgrading my phone every 2 years. My wife's Iphone 11 at 3 years that time is still smooth while my Note 10 plus is already failing me. At first, IOS scks but over time you'll appreciate how stable IOS is. I'm missing some android features but at the end of the day both OS is just a portal to your apps. And in that department IOS is still more optimized.

Yes, i can say that my s22 has started to lag a bit before changing it. I already started to get used ti IOS, but as you said, i do miss a lot of the small features that android had

The reasons to make the switch are absolutely BS. But whatever. Enjoy your iphone.

Hey there, as someone who is making money from the camera of the phone, i tend to disagree, although i can see what you said as a valid point for a regular consumer. Thank you for watching tho!

I switched because I wanted to learn on my phone enthusiast and I understand why apple is so great and it hardware. I like my fold 4 but its bulk and Samsung didn’t make the fold 6 bigger so I switched to apple.

Yes, for everybody will be a different experience. Personally i quite like it so far, but coming from android myself i can definitely understand your opinion on this. At the end of the day is a very subjective preference in my opinion.

I've been using Samsung for 6 years and recently switched to iPhone 16PM. I'm never going back, and I was a lifelong android user.

What makes it feel mediocre? I'm so tempted to switch to the 16 pro max from the s24u but I don't want to regret it. I'm a long time android user

Keyboard: install a different keyboard. Easy solution. I do use SwiftKey, but also have GBoard installed.

I am more of a purist with everything that i own. I like to use the intended manufacturer apps whenever possible, as i had issues with 3rd parties in the past and it was frustrating. But i wan thinking of looking into a 3rd party keyboard in case i don't get used to this one in 2-3 weeks.

3rd party keyboards on iPhone are really just glorified skins over the apple keyboard.

I used Gboard for a while because my stock iOS keyboard was laggy af in one of the 18.1 betas. Horrendous stuff. I had no idea I’d miss iOS keyboard that much and I was a Gboard user for 8 years on Android. I type much faster on the iOS stock keyboard and now with the AI features available, it makes sense to stick to it.

I went from Galaxy 6 edge to iPhone 6s Plus as an experiment and the rest is history never went back. Ecosystem & continuity are impeccable. Ironically, Google apps tend to run great or better in iOS . So , you won’t be missing Android. Facts!!

OMG YES! I use KZbin music and the app runs so much better on my new 15 plus than my old s21! I would think that it’s the other way around but nah 😂

The main reason I'm not trying an iPhone is that I prefer to be completely different from others and not just another 🍎🍎 trend-following sheep. 😎
