People like my parents find iPhones to be way easier. They don’t care about customizing their phones, they just want to use the phone app, FaceTime video, WhatsApp and KZbin. Being able to customize more doesn't mean you have to. I think iOS users think customizing must be a chore because on iOS it is a tedious and time consuming project to try to clean up your home screen. That's just not the case on Android, where it starts clean and then you can add a few things to it here and there as needed. If you don't want to spend time customizing things then iOS is actually way worse.

I have been a life-long Android user of almost 13 years (post-Nokia era) and I recently switched to the 15 PM as I thought it had the least amount of trade-offs, being an Android guy and tech-head. To my surprise the experience way more friction-less in terms of adapting to a new OS and lifestyle; I totally agree with Ali, the divide between the two realms is super narrow now. Have fun and do switch it up once in a while (if you got the means), you may just end up surprising yourself. For now, I am enjoying the iPhone experience to the Pro Max.

Why do people think having the ability to customize means you must spend time customizing? It's there if you want. It's not something that it forces you to do. I'd argue Apple forces you to spend more time customizing and cleaning up because you have to tediously move each icon one by one to clean up the default, which is to randomly puke icons arbitrarily all over the place. Android just puts everything into a simple alphabetical list inside a drawer. It's the difference between throwing all your papers randomly in piles all over your desk or using a file cabinet.

In the eco-jail of considering the lonely device by itself, the functionality of iOS vs Android is so close to equitable that fanboyying one or there other is just an admission of being a loser. One can do this thing a tiny bit better, the other does some other thing a tiny bit better, it's a wash. But even then, people in eco-jail favor iOS. People with no computer, no tablet, no wireless bluetooth ear-buds, no nothing, favor iOS by about 93% when they have used both for over two years. That's an amazing statistic! BUT once you leave eco-jail and enter eco-heaven, iOS vs Android is like Mike Tyson vs grandma in a wheelchair. If you go 100% Samsung for earbuds, computer, tablet, watch, and phone, only then does the competition get a little closer. Now it's Mike Tyson vs. a lightweight fighter. That little lightweight fighter has a few tricks up the sleeve here and there, but still goes down HARD when the first heavy punch lands. And can't get back up or even count to three.

The thing that iOS annoys me is with file management. Sometimes I dont even know where's my downloaded file and how to attach it to email/msg. And I do think power efficiency & battery life is better on iPhones.

I've been an android user my entire life up until iphone 12 where I switched to that then went back to s23 ultra. The one thing I absolutely LOVE about the iPhone is that, the apps are MADE for the iPhone. Samsung and many other Android phones uses an os system that has to configure to so many different screen sizes, camera specs, and dimensions of the phone itself. Because of that, the apps made for the phone are not often at its best. For example, something that bothered me switching to s23 ultra again was the messenger app. If you took a picture using the app the rendering of the image is terrible but its okay if you took with your phone then sent it as a message. I love my s23 sure, but small inconveniences can add up. For that I learned to love both, if I want pure and raw phone capabilities Android is the wait to go, if I want simplicity and accessibility iphone no doubt. To each your own. I hope you enjoyed my take.

Anyone switching one way or the other is going to feel restricted by lack of familiarity. Both times I switched I felt it going both ways. And both times I went to iPhone, it was only a month later that a deep peaceful serenity came over me when I realised that all the things that really matter are WAY better, while on Android, things that don't matter as much, literally like icon graphics or little bee-bop sounds, were the only things that were "better" because you could customize them, but after wasting hours on it, you realised that the universal and tested setup was better and performed better, used less RAM and processor space, etc.
@aliateeqvisuals3 ай бұрын
So i have not felt as restricted as i thought i would have felt, over the years a lot has changes and more so now. I have been using iOS 18 beta for the past couple of days and it allows for more customization than ever before and i really like that. I know people get super passionate about their preference but i do believe the 2 are getting closer to one another and for the average user the differences are far less now
@Äpple-pie-5k3 ай бұрын
@@aliateeqvisuals Apple fangirl here, the last straw to break the floodgates is the feeling that it's not as developer friendly. I feel like we're being illicit to install tools like iSH and find workarounds to use processors far more powerful than PCs of 5 years ago. I don't mind the WALLED garden just don't make it a CHAINED garden. They do just enough but never more, to make it better still than Android, but I don't feel the draconian lockdowns are helping the cause.

People get all excited they can customize it so when you take out your S-pen it makes a light sabre sound, and say it's all better for this reason. (while everyone else is sick of hearing your light sabre and you are losing cred). But in day to day things, the iPhone just works, and slowly you come to realise that the simple things like always unlocking your phone easily, are what really matters.

The fact that your android lagged to open the app switcher is insane 😅 also tbh i don’t get your point about the camera app settings you literally need to change them once in your life and if u need to change the video resolution there is a button in the camera app to do that , I don’t know why your carplay does that mine works fine with zero delay ( I used to be a Samsung user two and a half years ago and after using an iPhone I’m never switching back )
@aliateeqvisuals7 ай бұрын
Haha i think that was a glitch! It didn’t seem like it lagged but that fold is old now too 😬 Yeah you are right the camera settings is probably something you only have to do once but it was just to point out how some of the user experience is overly complicated for no good reason. I’m not sure about the CarPlay issue either but there has been an update to it since i recorded the video and it seems to have been working much better, not perfect but way better than the delays i got before Appreciate you watching! 🙌🏽

You made a downgrade. lmao. android has those features since ages. and after implementing a feature on the iphone people act like its a game changing thing when android had that in 2011. Literally, even a very old s4 released 2013 had all those features you are mentioning which are suppoed to come to iphone in 2026, and after 2011 every other android phone had those features, like always. in i also dont understand how people can buy a JAIL, where they cannot sideload apps etc., and they say they made it like that so it is "secure", but why dont you LET the customer CHOOSE rather than FORCING them ? Also, the new Samsung s24 ultra has a MUCH, MUCH better camera than the new iphone 15 pro max. Every iphone buyer is stupid at this point.

It's what you get use to like most things in life. Use something for while and you'll adjust. Being analytical in side bybside adjustments and use cases only matters. But the examples are fair. Trying to get the GF 14pro to backup Google Photos more reliability we swapped phones for a bit (Moto Edge 30 Ultra). So the phones are exactly oh age and level almost to the day. Both smooth and fast to use, she had no issue using once use to back gestures. I struggled a bit more with the inconsistency in navigation a bit etc but still managed. It's personal choice but on an analytical level as per the video there are some iPhone users that seem to just not have tried for a while, similarly with MacOS which use also at work at times. An adjustment but no better than Windows, we find it less stable at work
@aliateeqvisuals5 ай бұрын
