True for many survivors, but not for all. From what I garnered: He was a kid on the lookout He didn’t pull the trigger and probably never had a clue a precious soul would be taken from Earth. Californians passed the law. He didn’t break out. He was released.

I believe in second chances, but really? He does not sound at all remorseful, but entitled. His victim died the most horrible death, yet he enters the one of the best universities in CA, all on govt's dime. Kids work their behinds off trying to enter that school. How woke can CA get?

I was mad when I first watched this "I didn't get a free ride at UCI, and never committed any crimes" ... but now I'm OK with it. He's getting a degree in social ecology -- NOW HE IS THE VICTIM --- LOL
