In Georgia, a boy missing since 2010 has been found and reunited with his mother. As his father and stepmother sit under arrest, many questions about this case remain unanswered. Vicente Arenas reports.

They literally could’ve said she had died, or didn’t want him back, or lost custody, or a number of horrifying things and he’d have no way to check and wouldn’t even imagine his father would lie about that. A kid can barely process things like that let alone question if they’re accurate. The courts, CPS, the systems are so broken. I just hope they’ve been able to heal the past few years.

fairy wishes laws are different in each state. Some states feel that the father, and his mother have more rights to the child than the birth mother. Some people are scared, and some just plain evil.

She knew he was with his father and in some states they'll make you go to court to regain access to your children if the father has them in his custody. Both parents have equal rights. But she should have checked on his welfare to make sure he was being treated fairly.

He was kept isolated behind that fake wall, not in school and made to keep everything clean 🧼 inside and outside the house. detrell levert Most states you have to pay child support regardless if you see the child or not. Also, if your behind in child support you can go to jail, the state will take your taxes and you can’t renew your drivers license . Some states don’t play around✅ Also, you can go back into court in 3 years and get a larger child support check depending on the salary the payee is making 💯 I know these things from male and female friends. I would work and never ask for child support which very few people do.

There are too many vindictive, soulless people that take their anger of an ex, out onto their mutual offspring, there has never been a specific law on this type of child abuse. The violence is worse when the child believes they deserve the abuse they're getting, as if that somehow saves the other parent. The truth of the matter is most parents treat their spouse children different. They are mean to those kids because they are not their blood child. @TL I agree...this story is fishy regardless if he's home or not...this mother was not actively with all her might looking for her son. She knew he was with the dad and if he wasn't returning him she could have easily gotten him back by getting authorities involved. It's not like the dad was hiding him as neighbors saw him in the yard on a weekly basis. The mom is not being 100% honest and hopefully it will come out in the wash.

The only thing that saved me from having my kid taken was that he was enrolled in school and the system was like where is your kid and I'm like somewhere in Tennessee his dad won't let me have him or bring him back. They notified authorities. And then the cops were like hmmmm lets go make sure he brings the kid back from summer break. It just didn't matter when I notified authorities basically.

There is either a mistake in the reporting or they need to elaborate more because they did also say he was reported missing by the mother a little earlier than that. When you report a child missing, local law enforcement gets involved which contradicts the statement of her not telling the police. Definitely confusing story on the reporter’s part.

The fact someone finally came looking for him at that house must have given him hope and the drive and courage to risk it to finally call his mother. His poor face just breaks my heart. Also, he was only 4 years old when he was "not returned" (This is his father, who he was actually visiting -- not some kidnapper). The kid was likely told he was living with him now. At 4, he's not going to be equipped to sort out the truth, much less work a cell phone if he's never used one. Over time, maybe he figured out his mother was still looking for him. But that leads to the other question: Why didn't she report the boy missing 4 years ago? There's a huge chunk of the story we're not getting....

I think the reason the mother didn’t call the police is because and I may be wrong but if I remember correctly in the state of Florida it’s not considered kidnapping. If the parents aren’t together and there is no court ordered custody agreement then one of the parents has every right to take the child or children from the other parent and not return the child. It’s a sick law and needs to be changed.
