Funny how the comments are blaming the women for cheating husband but in other videos when men get cheated it's all the women's fault. Cheaters are pos. Doesn't matter which gender they are.

Yup. Part of me has doubts of the authenticity of this story because of that, because a real relationship counselor would obviously know better, but at the same time there's a saying in my old home country that goes something like "The house of a carpenter often needs more repairs than the house of a shoemaker" (very rough translation). It has a few different meanings, but one of the meanings is that despite our profession we are often blind to, or willfully ignorant of, flaws directly related to our profession in our own lives, in our own houses. It's sort of like "Can't see the forest for the trees", while it's obvious to an outside perspective you're blind to it because you can't see beyond 50 ft in any direction because trees are in your way.

@@mannydcbianco I can assure you every decent carpender is well aware of any flaws with their home. But yes skirting boards and stuff like that can often be left unfinished.

"I feel sorry for him." Why? Cheaters deserve no sympathy.
@A.M.1425 ай бұрын
For story 1, I will always remember a quote my best friends mother told us growing up. "When you're deep in the Lily Pads, you can't see the swamp." Often people won't understand or see these signs as they are cause they are involved, that's why it's always good to have an outsiders perspective on situations. But JUST the perspective, at the end of the day, the situation they are in, and the decisions of what to do about it, are all in them.

Cheaters are the worst
@mannydcbianco5 ай бұрын
Especially when children are involved. They're not only cheating on their partner, but they're cheating on their children too. And they're ruining the lives of the affair partner's partner too, and their kids (if they have any). It's just such a mess.
@Biolo-G_KJ5 ай бұрын
Yeah if you really wanna hookup with others, just divorce. To me the craziest thing is when cheaters say they are so regretfull that they sometimes don't hook up with anyone for years because they want to go back to their original partner. That is insane to me. Like now you are loyal when you broke up?? But when you were together you went out? Really? That one always blows my mind.

I think now that OP gained the experience of being cheated on, she should go for further training

A marriage counselor (after one year of training, lol) so focused on helping others overlooks her husband's red flags and the "cracks" in her marriage. The irony.
@Biolo-G_KJ5 ай бұрын
More common than you think. It's the difference between interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence. Many psychologist have a high degree of interpersonal intelligence, the irony is that many of them also have low intrapersonal intelligence. Therefor can easily fix others while not seeing their own issues. It's basically the opposite of a bad teacher. He can teach himself very well but has no idea how to help others learning the same thing.

Story 1: OP, do not apologize. Your ex reaped what he had sown, and all you did was to expose the truth, even if he did get roughed up, which was unintended. While I can understand you may want to maintain good ties for the sake of your children, I still advise keeping him at arm's length. Keep it strictly business, and if you still do not trust him with your children, push for supervised visits.

It is kinda weird how much the OP kept stereotyping. "Men's issues", "flirty type of men that stray", like what? Shouldnt you keep an open mind as a counsellor?

Story 1 if he cheats he belongs to the streets, glad op wasn't the classic spineless doormat and took action by exposing him and divorcing him .Story 2 well, well ,well if it isn't the consequences for her actions, being alone and without her family after she destroyed it by cheating.

Op is unhinged. Thinks the dating profile is a "sick joke"? What does that even mean lol, it's a dating profile, calm down. Actively avoids them on campus, you know, just cuz. Then OP gets to work on their qualifications, for 1 year. 1 year. You know, totally qualified (to help a high-schooler ask out there crush, maybe). Op say "oh no, these are the first red flags I should have seen" then follows that up with "I, the totally qualified marriage therapist, have been in a constant state of distrust and going through my partners shit desperately looking for evidence, but I couldn't ever find anything"
