This is really great to see such an intelligent lady interested in Chinese culture. Here in Taiwan, the government is trying their best to get the local young people to forget their Chinese roots, forget about the 5000 years of unique culture! At the end of the day, there will always be smart, talented young people, regardless of nationality, understand the treasures from the culture.

What are your thoughts about the cultural revolution and the destruction of anything considered ‘old’ Chinese culture or history?
@bfc48376 ай бұрын
@@MitchellCallander Culture needs external impact and change, and this impact and change also bring new vitality to the culture. The Cultural Revolution was more like a reflection after many years of ideological solidification, which was caused by the historical and environmental factors at that time. My view of the Cultural Revolution is both good and bad. On the contrary, Taiwan has been living in the Cultural Revolution. Taiwan's Cultural Revolution is ongoing, and some stupid Taiwanese have been using China's Cultural Revolution to comfort themselves, so that their miserable lives do not seem so bad.

Im Chinese, 3rd generation Chinese born in Singapore. I left Singapore at the age of 17 to study at the university in Australia & remained in Australia. As such, I have lost a lot of my Chinese culture. It’s wonderful to see a young lady (like Imogen) who has so much knowledge about Chinese culture & speaks Managerial fluently. It would be good if she could pass on her knowledge about Chinese culture etc to students at Cambridge. Additionally, she could impart her knowledge about English culture to the Chinese people in China. She can a professor of Chinese & English languages & cultures. Good luck & God bless you, Imogen.
