they had a few scenes in the last book where they jumped to possible futures. the seanchan took over dominating the aiel and the descendants of our heroes had become arrogant bastards. aviendha hoped to avoid this future by adding the aiel to the dragons peace treaty. but they could of just fufilled the prophecy instead of avoided it. if the seanchan survive learning all of their handlers can channel and should be chained as well, then they will will dominate the world, but i expect this revelation will destroy their culture.

Well, we know that some heroes of the horn are being reborn. Going on the premise that the pattern doesn't spin them out for no reason, I'm thinking another ta'veren is on his way to deal with another evil. My money is on Artur Hawking, possibly as the son of Mat and Tuon. Also, in terms of Min's prophecy of the Black and White Tower, I think a peace treaty will happen that specifies which Tower takes precedent over which in certain situations and scenarios. The Black Tower, however, does become a refuge for the poor and defenseless largely on the basis of Logain's selfless actions during the Last Battle to rescue a peasant village.

From my read/listen through the series, I think there will be peace. That is not to say an ever lasting peace but one that last a while at least, the wheel turns. After the last battle and the rest of the events of the books all nations have been impacted greatly needing time to settle and rebuild. As far as who could be the first to break the peace in my opinion it could be almost anyone. I wouldn't put it past any of the nations starting conflict due to lost territory during the series. However, I don't think even the first couple times it's broken we will see the peace fall apart. I see it lasting through the conflict and a longer time without conflict arising after the Aiel stand and confront the offenders. As for the Black and White tower relationships I agree there is so much history of mistrust it they won't merge, but I do see them at least coming to a peace and working to mend fences and feeling. That doesn't only apply to people in the towers but with the populace as well. They will eventually have a mix of men and women in both towers willing come, but likely for a long while men dominating the black and vise versa for the white. Rand I believe will try to stay out of conflict and will meet with his friends and family to just live a normal life. With that said I don't see him avoiding future conflict if and when it comes. I imagine him letting the Aiel handle things, however, if they can't resolve the issue he would be willing to take action to avoid mass war again or at least end it quickly for whichever side he sees in the right.

Daniel is overlooking something important and that is the importance of Mat. Mat at the end of the series has become a political JUGGERNAUT in both the wetlands and the seachan empire. He also seems to forget that mat is a savant is strategy and has centuries of knowledge to back it up. Given that he wife and child are at stake he will most certainly do something about it IMMEDIATELY after the last battle. He has seen empires rise and fall and he also fully understand the implications of the dragons peace. The question thus remains, which side will he be on?

I always imagined a Cold War like situation between Seanchan and the Westerland. I agree that infighting and possible civil war will weaken the Seanchan long enough for Elaine to consolidate her power. Together with the Aiel and White and Black Towers, they would form a NATO like agreement against the Seanchan. I also agree the Seanchan would wage a covert shadow campaign against the Westerlands, but so would the Westerlands. Mutually assured destruction would keep the two factions from outright war.
@stephengrant48414 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Sylvester I always thought that the Seanchan would start to adapt but wouldn’t entirely for a very long time. Mat will have a large influence risk position in their society, their system of slavery was flipped upside down when they found out any one holding a leash can also channel, and Min is now a high standing noble that is the most trusted set any of the empress. Mat even tells Min that she can use her power to convince Tuon to do or think things. Certain “visions” can convince Tuon that channeled shouldn’t be ostracized and enslaved, perhaps.
@SimpleYetGenius4 жыл бұрын
As soon as I read the words “Raven Empire,” in Avienda’s vision of the future, I alway assumes Mat was complicit in the war. He is, after all, the Prince of Ravens. In my head cannon, Mat survived Tuon’s assassination, or perhaps wasn’t there when it occurred. If the assassination was done by rogue/freed Damane, that could harden Mat’s stance on the issue. He could believe as Tuon once did, that they would need to be leashed for everyone’s safety. This would be coming from a place of grief, not logic, but it’s how Mat would rationalize helping to conquer his homeland. The Seanchan, in recognition of Mat’s prowess in battle, and his like contribution in reuniting Seanchan, would be enshrined forever as part of their empire, like Hawkwing.

@@SimpleYetGenius the Seanchan were always associated with Ravens, hence Mats ring, the Ashandarei, and his title. The old guard of the tower if you will do not know the meaning of their title Aes Sedai; Servant of All. A few does. One example is the current Amyrlin. But she suffers from ignorance and arrogance. She lessened her ignorance by leaps and bounds after Rand returned. But of note aslong as the Aes Sedai keep using the Oath Rod. They will eventually die out and the Asha'man and other female factions will take over. By simply outliving them by 2-3 times.

@prinskipperskipple21735 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I think in the coming years, the 'Westlands' and the Seanchan will probably both be ready for war but neither will strike first. IMO, it will be a Cold War situation where tensions are extremely high and the threat of war is ever-present, but not reach that stage. While the Seanchan have an over-inflated ego, I think they will try to avoid a war for a few reasons: 1. With an ever-increasing number of channelers heading to The White Tower with the changes Egwene brought about, I think that the Aes Sedai (particularly the Green Ajah) become a Battle Ajah in full (with the other Ajahs having some battle training as well) and will be training and preparing for war to combat the Damane. I think the Aes Sedai change the Warder requirements and allow women to become warders after Birgite and Elayne worked well. The number of warders will reach the greatest it ever has been as members of the other Ajahs take on more than one warder. More channelers trained for battle and more highly trained and skilled fighters in the warder ranks make the Aes Sedai that much more dangerous of an opponent. 2. More and more men will head to the Black Tower to train as the stigma surrounding male channelers decreases. This won't just be men who can channel either. Men will go there to be trained in various weapons and combat. I can see a sort of pact between the Black Tower and the Aes Sedai stating that at times various members of each will come together and practice working in circles. 3. The armies of the different nations will increase in size with more citizens being trained in case of a conflict. This won't necessarily increase the size of each nation's standing armies, but the regular citizens that are trained will form a reserve force that are always ready if needed. 4. The Aiel numbers will grow again and in time will become one unified nation. While they won't be as much of a warrior race as before, they will still be one of the most deadly and skilled people in battle. 5. The Borderland nations rebuild and keep some form of their 'feudal' nature. While they no longer have to protect against the shadow along the blight, they will always be ready for any attack by the Seanchan. Many of the more skilled fighters and tacticians are hired to help train the armies of other nations. If any war were to happen, I think it will be when there are none among the rulers still alive with any memory of the last battle. I like to think that if Mat stays with Tuon and Min serves her as is implied, they will be the voice of reason and calming influence on both sides. In time, I do think any chance of conflict will end and the Seanchan will slowly come back and rejoin the Westland society. From what I gathered throughout the series, the Seanchan are at a disadvantage in the numbers game and as more channelers are trained in the Westlands, the Seanchan advantage of the Damane will decrease massively and they will realize they are massively outmatched and any attempt to fight will be futile. The only reason their attack was so effective was that they caught the coastal cities/towns by surprise and nobody expected the Damane. That advantage is now gone.
@georgecatton3 жыл бұрын
I think the one wild card is Mat. Whilst throughout the story as a whole he's shown to be against war if he changes his way of thinking or just decides that it would be better if the Sheanchan ruled (perhas after making changes to their society) no one could stop him

One core concept that you didn't cover is that with the Bore sealed, people's negative inclinations, jealousy, greed, hatred etc. will be blunted. Things like cooperation and negotiation will have a greater chance of working, a reverse of what was noted in the Age of Legends after the Bore. In terms of the White Tower, I'd say the concept of allowing male channelers in is something of a foregone conclusion. With the Seanchan and their Da'mane knocking on their door and with the existing bonded Asha'man already there, the Tower couldn't afford to be fussy.

The entire world will first focus on rebuilding their respective kingdoms, with many crops having failed, a lot of food having been wasted, and the entire world essentially being in a war state for a long time. The seal of the Dark One's prison will definitely hasten the regenerative processes. As this goes on, the White and Black Tower initially are dedicated to help rebuild the world. Nynaeve teaches her healing abilities, and the insane among the Black Tower are all Healed, and so on. There will be a few people.from.both the towers that will help each other, whole.the majority still distrust each other. The Black Tower will now start organising itself into various factions similar to the White Tower. People will start to study more of the Power, and the Black Tower, suddenly gripped with the hope that people have placed on them, will do everything that they can to spread the message that men can also be trusted. The Red Ajah now face an identity crisis, as they all hate men, but now have to be ambassadors to the black tower. The affects of the seal will grease this transition. There will be a lot of discussions on what to do with the black tower, and they'll conclude that they can use them to learn more about the power. Soon, there will.be collaborations between the two when it comes to learning. More women will flock to the white Tower to train and be independent of men, especially inspired by the Aiel police force. Men, who were always shy to approach AES Sedai for aid will approach the Asha'man. The two towers become rallying points for the genders, but the black tower, having a lot of families already settled in, will also attract women. The Black Tower's influence soon grows across the world. Also, now faced with the opportunity to have families, and to be wed to men who are not intimidated by the eAes Sedai, there will be Power wielding families, which becomes the nidus for the two towers to unify. Meanwhile, with the people no longer being afraid of the Power as they were in the past, more and more channelers keep cropping up from each village, town and city. This will soon fill the halls of both towers, and soon cause decentralisation of the Power, leading to there being resident Healers, and so on. This will end up with the towers being bastions of learning, but not the only places where power using people live, especially due to widespread Travelling. Now, back to Politics. The knowledge that suldam and damane are the same will be made public by the Wetlanders, especially due to the intense hatred they have for the Adam. This will be the attack on the seanchan. This knowledge will initially be contained by the empire, but sooner or later, it will reach the masses. They will suddenly be shaken. While there will be many who do not care, the damane who were willing to give up their freedom uptil now, will start questioning their place in society. The suldam will quell any rebellious thoughts that they have, purely out of fear. However, now people will demand that the girls who can leash others also be chained, and vice versa. This will initially be ignored by the suldam, but it will lead to riots. Mat will see this and will try to convince the Empress to releasethe damane. Thus, the seanchan empire gives up on its power slavery before any conversation on male channelers even begins. this will put them at a disadvantage, but the hatred of the Power is deeply rooted in them. This will cause them to rather begin hiring the black tower to help them with any power related matter, and they also send their damane and suldam to train. They are suspicious of the White Tower, and so will rather send them to other institutions. The captured forsaken, however, will.be discovered for what she truly is, and so will be presented to an international court, who will decide to still her. elaida is returned to the white Tower, where she is stilled for breaking the tower apart. The seanchan, with the black tower, build another haven or bastion, for channelers Sony because it is in their best interest. This bastion will be advertised to be for both males and females, and may soon develop into a fully fledged tower in itself. While there will be initial resentment between the empires, the Light's Victory will cause all three of them to start cooperating soon, and bring back the Age of Legends. Sorry for the chaotic thought process and the Power centred thoughts. That's what interests me the most anyway, so...

And simply because Aviendha managed to get the Aiel to agree in not going to war with the Seanchan right away by agreeing to the Dragon's Peace, does not create a diversion from that path. For all we know, this agreement of the Aiel becoming the police force of the Peace could be the precise means of starting that war outside of Aviendha's daughter foolishly doing so. However, the Aiel agreeing to the Peace and becoming a police force that gains influence among all sides could also cause the wars to not happen. What I believe, and like Daniel I have not done much research at all on theories or author/editor admission on this topic, is that Cadsuane rises to become Amyrlin Seat of the White Tower. I also believe that she would raise Moiraine as her Keeper. These are political moves every bit as much as traditional. Both Cadsuane and Moiraine are known to have been close to Rand and stood beside him as advisors and mentors. If not for both, Rand does not become who is needed to defeat the shadow. Not only this, but both have reputable ties to the Aiel (particularly the Wise Ones), the borderlands, and Elayne. I also believe that Nynaeve, while acting as Queen of the rebuilding Malkier, will be held in high ranking of the White Tower as would Elayne. Both would be seen as potential future Amyrlins. All have reputable ties to Rand and his allies. Nynaeve also helped cleanse Saidin. Due to this, I believe the Black Tower... now lead by Logain with Damer Flinn... would be much more accepting of an alliance with the White Tower. Being located in Andor, the Black Tower will work in tandem with Elayne to secure and generate prosperity to her mini empire (and may even work with her in expanding it through conquest and diplomacy, particularly in the open lands). I also believe that, while there will be falsehoods and rumors spread to continue negative outlook on male channelers, more and more people will come to understand what they did at Tarmon Gaidin, and will have a more positive view of them. This will only increase as word of Aes Sedai and governmental acceptance spreads. It won't take a century or even a generation, but maybe twenty years. I do think that both towers would unify in various means, but will always remain separate. As for the Seanchan, I believe that at some point they would attempt to conquer the Westlands. However, I think they use Shara's involvement in the last battle as an excuse to attack there first. In this, I actually think that the Aiel will aid the Seanchan as it would be thought of honoring the terms of the Peace. This in turn could lead two directions. The Aiel and Seanchan grow closer in relations, which bolsters future Seanchan conquest of the West. Or it creates eventual friction between the Aiel and Seanchan over land disputes of how Shara should be divided. Either way, I believe this is what ends the Peace and generates war between the West and Seanchan. My first instict is that the West would win due to contributions of the Aes Sedai and Asha'men, if not also due to support from the Aiel. However, if the Aiel side with the Seanchan... or are defeated by the Seanchan with their Wise Ones captured, and if the Seanchan begin to develop male Demane, the Seanchan would win. I do not think this would happen within a generation or two, though.

I dont think the futures seen in her vision are the only path. By knowing the future one changes it easily. My theory is that Tuon accepts her channeling ability and embraces it as a means to protect herself from threats. Also Mat will be there encourage her to make reforms that will draw the support of seanchan channelers and he is unbeatable as a general. So any threat to Tuon will be subtle and clandestine. Something she could resist with her channeling. I also assume any despot like Tuon will see an advantage to being able to extend ones life like the aes sedi. Most likely threat the aiel and the westlands will face will be from the sharan(sp?). They are leaderless and loaded with militant channelers. Whomever rises to rule will have an country unscathed by war and eager for stability from a unified country. In the end, the only way the aiel and the westlands ever fall depends on the white and black towers level of cooperation with each other. Allied towers working with the aiel will be unbeatable in war. So outsiders will have to infiltrate the towers and sow divison from within. This will take a long time to achieve and not likely to succeed with the channelers taking the oaths. Then you have to remember the aiel will have there own male channelers working with thier own female channelers. Independent of the 2 towers. Give a couple generations and the male aiel channelers will be on the level of ashaman.

Hmm might be a bit meta, but to me knowing that RJ had wanted to write a spinoff featuring Matt and Tuon and their adventures in Seanchan combined with how we don't really know anything about how his future went in Aviendha's vision makes me think the Assassination attempt was gonna be in those books and Matt being there makes a difference. Their story couldn't just be about fixing things, danger would have been involved to make it classical fantasy. And now I am bummed again about the fact we never got this spin off series le sigh.

I wanna be optimistic just because I became a Robert Jordan not awhile ago. I want to believe that Rand vision were the Two Rivers are in the center of cultural revolution and everything is almost perfect is the future of their world. But base on my thought this is what will happen: 1) Elayne is basically the strongest person in the world in political, geography and militarily. Strong enough that any decision she would do can be done without any strong opposition (including the WT) 2) Black Towers image would be drastically change in possitive but because of that the White would also step up and making sure the balance of power wouldn't shift to the black to much. YES, they like channeler that don't go crazy. But their making sure that a couple years later the BT wouldnt give birth to a new Amalasan (minus the Dragon Reborn thing). They would also like be the judge of male channeler committing a crime like murder, arson, treachery, etc. and maybe even start doing background check on whoever the BT is recruiting. 3) Guns and modern warfare laterally balance the destructive capability of Non-channelers to channelers. Just imagine an Aiel with a sniper rifle. 4) Thanks to modern innovation and the dragon's peace. Channeling would be focus on public service rather that politics. Like transport, public health service and engineering. 5) Rand is looking at everyone making sure their not fcking everything up.

A few thoughts on the Seachan: - First, it is stated that Fortuona plans to sail back to Seachan to reconquer the Empire and seat herself upon the crystal Throne. If she is assassinated, it will likely be during or after that time. - Secondly, I think Mat and Fortuona will be busy in Seachan which will give the Aiel time to attack the Seachan over the Wise Ones taken as damane. - Thirdly, I think as weaponry becomes more advanced, the system of sul'dam and damane will break down and become less necessary, especially if the knowledge of ter'angreal and the nature of a'dam spread, which is likely inevitable. I do not think this change will be fast, but change will come.

First off! Have not had any friends that read the Wheel of Time since I was about 15-17 (which is almost 20 years ago), so finding this show on KZbin brings me back to that time. Some thoughts. Black/white tower - I think the collaboration between the towers will come quite smoothly. I base this on three reasons First the bonding - it seems that they have established a fairly well functioning routing for deciding who gets to bond who male of female leader and the bond we get the described by Androl and Pevarra hint that they can communicate without speaking. I think this will help to bring the towers together more quickly. However, I agree that it will take some time, though not centuries. Second, I think if Cadsuane becomes Amyrlin, here experiences handling channelers and warders will helps her establishing a working relationship. Third, the Queen of Malkier knows how to heal the madness. I think this will help redeem them in the eyes of the public. Seanchan and future conflict - I totally agree the extremism will be hard to stamp out and I believe it is the Seanchan ultimate weakness. This because of three reasons. For every damane/suldam channeling team there are two female channelers who also have the ability to form circles with males. From what I understood of the explanation of the male adam, eventually it would turn in to a power struggle between the men and the women, causing it to be in affective. Will this mean that male channelers will be free to channel at will, or will they told to go to the black tower? If I’m correct this will mean that the non-Seanchan will have a disadvantage as long as they keep the adam. Another disadvantage to me seems to be that the white tower will in the future draw on the collective knowledge of the Windfinders, wise ones and the Aes Sedai, which will make them more skilful channelers. Lastly, I think that the Seanchan will have to solve the civil war in their homeland before they can take on any conflict in Randland. Which might take years. Conflict in general - I believe that the United Nations when setting up the Dragons Peace must have inspired Jordan. The United Nations Peacekeeping forces are always dependent on whether the member nations want to contribute soldiers or not. If the UN would have an independent enforcer similar to the Aiel I think the world would be much more stable. In addition, I think that as long as the Sharans remained not a part of the Dragons peace I think they will be the common enemy for the both Randland countries and Seanchan. Third, in Randland at the end of the Memory of Land there seems to risks of future famines because of war, a diminished labour force to work the land and lots of unclaimed land. This will probably keep conflict at bay for the foreseeing years.

I liked this a lot. I’ve always felt like the ending of WoT was an ending only to the story of the Dragon. The world was still left in disarray with mistrust and all out hate prominent within it and the Dragons Peace was nothing but ink on paper. As soon as he ”died” his words meant nothing to rulers because politics does what politics does. I think that the evident eruption between Aes Sedai, Asha’man, sul’dam and the remaining Ayyad lead to the extinction of mankind. As Hopper describes it, wolves remember when man and wolves hunted together, and I got the feeling that ”man” was more in the terms of neanderthals or cro-magnon. Which means that as the wheel turns humanity will die to be reborn and evolve to it’s peak only to devolve and die again. Which is kinda bleak to be honest, but seems in touch with the main themes of the series. I would think that of the seven spokes of the Wheel, humanity is around for three of them, the other four is for nature and animals. As soon as humans finds and utilizes the One Power, hubris takes over and the downward spiral begins. Sort of like what is happening to us as we speak. But then again. That’s just my theory. 😇

If each Age lasts about 3000 years, that won't be enough time for mankind to die, be reborn, and evolve again. Evolutionists tell us the process takes millions of years, or at least a whole lot longer than a mere 21, 000.

We know that Rand is not dead at the end of AMoL. We also know that Cadsuane, Aviendah, Min and Elayne all know that he is alive. Would they pull him back from his "vacation" to help with any of these situations? Would people believe that is really him? What would his ability to exert his will on the pattern do for the future? And then there is the fact that the Seanchan have Moghedien as a damane. Would she be able to change things there and end up in a position of authority? Or would she end up broken? If she is broken, what does that mean for the ability of the Seanchan to work in the shadows? Just a few of the thoughts I had finished AMoL. Guns are undeniably going to be involved in any Seanchan-Dragon Alliance(I find this name most accurate) War. During the Dark One and Rand’s future building, guns are key in the two main “peace” timelines. The Free lands have the advantage currently with the dragons, however the Seanchan will undeniably figure out guns. Logain will most likely prepare the Asha’man for the Seanchan.

The only speculation i could give against Tuons assassination, would be since the Aiel are enforcing the dragons peace, countries may feel more at ease talking with each other/experiencing other cultures and perhaps more societal outside influence would change seanchan from the bottom up, while Tuon is also making roads from the top down. Also allowing more solid alliances between her and other countries. Way purely speculation and hard to explain well through this

I think that the peace would last for a nice while at least. It was stated by Rand that the last age ended with chaos, and so this age starts with peace (paraphrasing). Someone had told me that Robert Jordan had initially intended on making a mini series of Mat after. This would imply (in his vision at least) that Tuon had time left, maybe even getting around being assassinated completely with all the change of events. Also, in Aviendha's trip through the columns, it implied that even with the assassinations, the only ones who really had a problem with the Seanchan really were the Aiel. Elayne wasn''t queen anymore, which means that she didn't try to conquer them while they went to reclaim the Seanchan lands, or anytime after. Her descendants also had to be tricked into going to war with them, showing that they were happy with the peace.
@korritaranis6725 жыл бұрын
I was wondering what the effect of technology would be on the world. Rand set up the schools in Cairhein and elsewhere that are developing steam engines, agricultural equipment, etc. Plus there's the 'dragons' that were used and the weaponization of gunpowder. What would that do to the balance of power and the way wars are fought? I think these things would have a huge impact on the way the politics go and the progression of the Westlands.
@jdavidbaxter3 жыл бұрын
I'm coming late to commenting on this and others have probably already brought it up, but a major item that was overlooked is the building of a new tower right next door to the White Tower. Eliada's failure will be used as the new location for the Black tower, and the two will coexist right next door to one another. It will likely be an uneasy relationship for the first hundred years or so, but I think the building of that second tower foreshadows the direction things will go. Second, I think the views on Seanchan are too pessimistic. I think Tuon will live thanks to Mat and will survive the assassination and reunite Seanchan. That doesn't mean there won't be conflict, Tuon is very headstrong and will not give up her desire to reclaim the wetlands, and I think Aveinda's vision aside, I thing there is lots of foreshadowing of future conflict, I just think Mat tips the scales in Tuon's favor and will allow her to reunify her people.

The Ashaman will try to earn trust by taking an oath limiting their use of channeling for violence or destruction. There won't be as many wars for the next few years anyway. What to do instead? Aes Sedai generally don't focus on crafting, building, mining, or agriculture. These areas are wide open for the Ashaman to expand their mission into. Spoilers below: One thing I think you should have touched on is that Rand is still alive, and we have no idea how powerful he is, and he can do things, like light his pipe, without channeling. HOW is he able to do this though? I've got a theory: Rand has become the Creator. When he defeated the Dark One, he essentially 'created' the Pattern and fitted it to his will, one where the Dark One still existed but humanity continued to exist without him altering the fate's of those around him that had already died/been injured/etc. The history described in the book of how the world came to be says that the Creator willed the Wheel and the Pattern into existence, which also created the Dark One. In my reading of the series, those two scenarios sound almost exactly the same. And since every age in the WoT universe repeats itself due to how wheels work, it would make sense if there is some sort of strange paradox where the Wheel and the Pattern are continuously recreated by 'the Creator' (aka - The Chosen One), which also happens to be someone spun out by the Pattern itself. Even if he's not the Creator, that brings me back to my first point; he is still alive and we have no idea how powerful he is! If there was going to be a breach of The Dragon's Peace, I see no reason why he wouldn't do everything he could to prevent that. Especially, as you said, the most powerful ruler is Elayne, one of his lovers, Aviendha, leader of the 'judicial' Aiel, and Min, someone who can most likely visit the royal court of the Seanchan at any time to give her guidance. Rand is in a position to prevent anything going wrong in the Westlands until he eventually dies. And given that both Elayne and Aviendha both channel, they will live a very long time and Rand may as well given his 'condition', who knows how long that peace could actually last. My personal opinion is at least 1,000 years. His two wives will live hundreds of years no problem and then there is a potential for collapse in the Westlands, but not before. Is there anything in the series that could prove Rand didn't become the Creator when he defeated the Dark One when they were re-weaving the Pattern to show possible futures? Anything you would need me to expand upon?
@mattbinkowski20954 жыл бұрын
I could see him being able to will things into existence like they do in the dream world because of the things he saw and experienced. I don't see how he could literally be the creater in human form.

The white tower is quite a different entity by the end of the book and the beginning of the 4th age. The civil war and purging of black ajar played a part, as well as alliances with windfiners, wise ones and the kin. A more inclusive white tower would probably be open to working with the black tower and exploring the new combined usage of the power with bonding.

The Woman in the middle of that cover art is Av, not Elayne (as specified by the dagger she carries before and during that book). But anyways, great vid. Just finished AMOL myself. What a roller-coaster. I think with Mat present with Tuon, given his luck (if he still has it. Perhaps that was tied to his ta'veren status?) that an untimely death for Tuon is unlikely. Given that Egwene passed, I think Elayne has enough of the head of a ruler to engage in some pretty heavy diplomacy with Tuon, with both Min and Mat being added links to that. I suspect an eventual solid peace, perhaps even at the bequest of Hawkwing, between the Seanchan and the rest of those unified under the Dragon's Peace.

(Please not that I am by no means a WOT scholar. There's probably some lore or a quote somewhere that contradicts what I'm about to say.) While there would probably be thousands of rumors, both positive and negative, swirling around the Black Tower, I believe Cadsuane and Logain would be able to hammer out some sort of treaty, although it wouldn't be perfect and they would have to corral their ranks into submission. The White Tower would have to at least appear to endorse the Black's actions. The older Asha'man would probably not take well to that, and as such be forced to remain in the Black Tower. Furthermore, the BT training would have to shift away from being so combat oriented, although it would still probably be very militaristic. Over time, they would grow to be as accepted as the WT, but that road would not be without conflict. Both Towers would slowly lose influence as they focus more on their relationship with each other than the outside world. We can assume both Aviendha and Min are in the early stages of pregnancy as of the end of AMoL, as one of Aviendha's visions mentions three "lines" of the Dragon. Min's children would undoubtedly be able to channel, and, assuming Tuon forced her to stay within Seanchan (which seems likely due to Min's gifts) this would spark fierce debate among the Seanchan about the nature of Sul'dam and Damane. This would lead to a civil war between an anti-Tuon faction who wish to keep the current system and a pro-Tuon faction who would wish reform. The fighting would spill over into non-Seanchan lands, and the Aiel would intervene. Mat would probably politic the Aiel into not attacking Tuon. As a result, Tuon would remain in power, but be greatly weakened. Furthermore, I can't see the Aiel letting Min and her children stay in Seanchan after that, and as such they would leave. Anyway, Tuon would die, and her successor would probably seek to restore the Seanchan's power. Elayne would probably be firmly opposed to letting any of the nations in her bloc take part in the Whitecloaks' invasion. However, several nations such as Illian and Arad Doman would. Those nations would have their power increase enough to expand their spheres of influence. Arad Doman would take Almoth Plain and parts of Tarabon, as well as expanding into the Caralain Grass. As Elayne would also have done this, the Caralain Grass would be divided by those two, leading to light skirmishes before the Aiel stepped in, and enmity between the two. Arad Doman would also try to influence the Western Borderlands, but Nynaeve would stop them, and the Borderlands would fall under Malkier's influence. Illian would expand a little into Altarra, and afterwards into the Plains of Maredo, which would essentially be a repeat of the Caralain Grass with Andor. Illian would also try to exert influence over Murandy, although it would again come into conflict with Andor over this. Post-Tuon, the weakened Seanchan would undergo a Germany pre-WW2 phase. The three greatest powers in the region, Andor, Arad Doman, and Illian, would all be too busy squabbling to notice, and the Seanchan would again attack to regain their lost territory. However, the Aiel would be the only ones to effectively stand against them. As the Seanchan in this timeline are much weaker, the Aiel either win, but would be very weakened or be destroyed. Either way, Arad Doman and Illian would consume the rest of the Seanchan's territory, then promptly begin fighting each other. The Aiel, no longer able to stop them, would schism, some retreating to the Waste, some staying behind. Over time, those that remained in the Wetlands would devolve into mercenary companies, and eventually assimilate into the Westlands. Andor would eventually become involved in the conflict between Arad Doman and Illian, leaving themselves open to attack from Cairhien. The Aes Sedai, seeing the world devolve into chaos, would finally put their attempts to control the Asha'man aside and ally with them to bring the nations to heel. The channelers united would devastate every nation except the Borderlands, and as such I predict Malkier would ultimately become the most powerful nation in the Westlands, although the Aes Sedai and Asha'man would be the true power even then. Over time, the Aiel would regain strength, and their tales of being the peacekeepers of the Wetlands would morph into justification to invade them, sparking another Aiel War. If they win, they would not hold onto power forever, and ultimately assimilate and be overthrown, although the dynamics of the wetlands would be completely different. If they lose, the wetlands would be weakened and an entirely new balance of power would emerge.

My biggest question, and perhaps it's because I missed a vital piece somewhere, is that since the dark one is now locked away and the bore is not just patched but remade, do things return to what they were in the age of legends? No war or conflict. It is stated several times that the people during that age had no concept of war until the bore was opened...maybe Rand just patched the bore in Aviendas vision because the conditions for true peace hadn't been met. The dark ones touch is now totally removed once again so can there be open hostility?
@raddude5855 жыл бұрын
My understanding of the situation would lead to the assumption that an open dark ones prison is not required for hostility. After all the whole point of Rand deciding to NOT kill the dark one was to avoid a world where people didn't have the free will to choose good or evil for themselves. That being the case I can only assume that the dark ones prison being properly closed now just means that the dark one can't influence the world in a direct way at all but there is still every opportunity for human nature to turn violent still.
@raddude5855 жыл бұрын
Also I think the implication that the 1st age is our time and presumably had a sealed dark one's prison lends itself to show that war is pretty easy without the dark one's direct influence

Of course the Aes Sedai must become unified with the Asha'man again. The Wheel demands it to be so as we saw in the past it will be again in the future. I don't think Avienda's future occurs in this World and I believe Amis also saw a different future than the one Aviendha saw. There were also things that couldn't happen unless Aviendha were all killed soon after the Last Battle since her daughter was less than 20. Also, her future would only occur IF the Aiel were not included in the Dragon's Peace because that was the central cause. Aviendha could also warn her children not to fight the Seanchan as it's clear that the Aiel instigated the war.

The most important thing is the Sea People, unless the Seanchan have gateways to transport their armies all the supplies will come by Sea (or To'raken-craft carriers still by sea). This can be a huge logistical issue for the Seanchan. I highly doubt the people of the Wetlands will treat with an invading empire easily for long. Even in the books uprisings against the invaders were seen. The people of the Wetlands do not bend easy. IF Elaine was logical she would cut them off and let the armies fail by attrition, and lack of resources, but also, I just remembered Seanchan itself is from what we know completely split/destroyed.I know we get a vision of the future but, that was before, well things changed.

There is a senchan legend or something that goes like "when dire need comes imperial family will return to towers of midnight and right that which is wrong" pretty sure thats where damane were first collared and time of dire need could be last battle and senchan homeland blowing up in a bunch of rebellions and likely when hawking talked to tuon he didnt approve of the damane so imo mat and tuon return to senchan unite the land back into the empire and start fixing the damane stuff maybe not free them outright or maybe they find an oath rod and make them swear to obey the empress or something. Also when moraine shows up when all the monarch are debating the dragon peace she quites the prophecies where rand will slay them with a sword of peace and talks how pattern is about balance after an age of war comes an age of peace and with rand being alive with probably a small part of creators power while i think he will keep away from the events of the world if a giant war broke out he would probably come back but i dont think thats fonna happen anyway

I like this video. Only thing I think you missed was the influence of rand mat and perrin. They all have immense influence in both towers and many nations. I dont think their influence would stop merely because the last battle is over. And they are all in their early 20s. So they could exert influence potentially for a long time.

I've always wanted to see how Tuon evolves as a character after meeting Artur Hawkwing and the events of the last battle. Like, what a fucking trip that would be for your direct ancestor and sole reason for legitimacy as a ruler meeting her and giving her some much needed context. It would be like the pope in Renaissance Europe meeting Peter and getting to ask anything they ever wanted to know.

I wouldn't put too much trust in Avi's vision. We don't really know a lot about it. We can't be certain that it's just the normal events minus the inclusion of the Aiel in the Dragon's Peace. I'm not certain the Seanchan were a part of the Dragon's Peace in the vision, which would also be a huge change and we also don't know if the vision is also a future in which Rand had survived the Last Battle. I can't see how Rand would allow the world to fall into war again and he would presumably be around for another 400 years at least. Yes, he probably wants to chill a bit, but he would definitely intervene in some way if all out war was on the horizon.

Honestly considering the last time the descendants of Hawkwing had to unify the Seanchan continent it took them almost a millennium I wouldn't discount the possibility of Tuon focusing all her energies in that fight first. I do not believe that the fight between the Westlands and the Seanchan is so inevitable. On the contrary: I believe that their forces will be long spent in the Seanchan continent while their ideological unity over the danger of marath'damane will be eroded. All in all, I wonder if once the Consolidation is re-completed the next target will really be the Westlands. It would be smarter for them to focus their energies on Shara, which is excluded from the Dragon's peace and might give them a further edge in marshalling resources and manpower. I imagine as centuries go on the sul'dam - damane -marath'damane ideology will slowly disappear and therefore their military might will focus ever more strongly on rake, to'raken, lopar etc. As for the Black and White Towers, I believe the idea of a "Gray Tower" some character was musing about during the last books will be a middle stage towards, eventually, the dispersion of concentrated centers of channellers the way it used to be during the Second Age.
@carcher54322 жыл бұрын
I actually felt like Aviendha's addition to the Dragon's Peace was in line with what happened in her visions. There were mentions in the visions from Elayne's children about letting the Aiel handle the Seanchan that make perfect sense with the Aiel as a peacekeeping force, and even the discussion of Aviendha and Rand's children about whether to fight the Seanchan could be read as a discussion of whether to hold them in breach of the Dragon's Peace. I still don't think that her visions are necessarily the set outcome, but I didn't see anything afterwards that specifically contradicted them.
@fightermcwarrior73915 жыл бұрын
A question I don't see often is this- When does this take place? If it while the current cast of heroes and channelers of the last battle are still around you see a very different coalition. As well you may see a still living Mat, one who likely would know the terrain of Senchean after some inevitable reunification wars. A living Mat who provides a link to Empress Fortuana for loyalists and ties to wetlander leaders...I may be a fanboy here but he would manhandle the Senchean forces. Even if he is gone a future acolyte of his (maybe an adult Olver) could provide new leadership. I just see a United wetlands providing a much stronger threat

I disagree with your view on the future of the Black Tower. I believe that while the Towers will not unify into a single entity yet, most probably not in decades or even centuries, they will definitely form a cooperative relationship and allow men to study in the White Tower and women to study in the Black Tower if they so desire, thus making it possible to research weaves that utilize both saidin and saidar and further strengthen their understanding of the One Power. Also, I believe the general opinion on male channelers will be much more positive after the Last Battle, as we were shown with Logain. The saved civilians told him they'd send their sons to be tested to see if they had the *gift* of channeling, not curse, and I feel that this is very deliberate from Jordan to show that the general sentiment has changed.

Love this though I disagree. There is a balance, years of chaos should follow years of peace. The vision we see of the future shows Elaine did not break the peace. Her descendant was on the throne before Andor was manipulated. Now the Aiel have a purpose we are moving towards the age that will birth the age I’d legends.

The way I see it, the Dragon's Peace will hold in the long run (perhaps minor conflicts here and there), the white and black tower will merge and the Age of Legends will return. After thousands of years, war will be forgotten, and the Aes Sedai will want power and drill the bore again. The Shadow will touch the world again and the Dragon will be reborn.

The one this I wonder is if since the wise women of the aiel now know how bad things could go if Tuon dies if they will try and keep her alive. They have nearly direct access to her through min and avienda. Not that I'm sure that shes changed her mind on imprisoning channelers. I cant remember which book but in one of the later ones it was hinted that she knew that suldam could channel and said something to the effect of "it's the difference between able to commit murder and doing it". On the other hand Matt as prince of the ravens is starting to gain renown so maybe he could start changing things slowly. Aslo I agree the seanchan are an issue but what about shara didnt demondred spend time making them dislike the wetlands. Wouldn't be surprised if they attacked.

I firmly defend the stance that this is the end of the cycle/wheel, and that the world operates on Groundhog Day logic. Rand finally got it right. This is largely based on Veins of Gold, and the futility of Ishamael's Philosophy, but there are hints elsewhere. "Why do we live again? Lews Therin asked, suddenly. His voice was crisp and distinct. Yes, Rand said, pleading. Tell me. Why? Maybe…Lews Therin said, shockingly lucid, not a hint of madness to him. He spoke softly, reverently. Why? Could it be…Maybe it’s so that we can have a second chance. ... That’s why he fought. That’s why he lived again, and that was the answer to Tam’s question. I fight because last time, I failed. I fight because I want to fix what I did wrong. I want to do it right this time."
@stephengrant48414 жыл бұрын
Glen Simkus that’s kinda right. Everything that happens will more or less happen again when the wheel turns through all 7 ages. But it does go on, the fourth she started at the end of the book after all.

Dont forget the Seanchan captured a forsaken at the end. That's a whole lot of the one power knowledge that many of this age have forgotten or simply never knew about the power. Training all the channelers of the Seanchan with this newly captured knowledge is or could be a huge factor.
@johnridderhof45055 жыл бұрын
@Raul Mount I think Tuan looks west first. Her homeland is in the midst of civil war and unrest if I remember. As long as Matt is around I think she will or could be steadied on quelling and stabilizing her home, will she have enough time to establish exactly what Mogadin knows and to teach the rest. With that being said, if her assassination actually happens and when, how does or will Matt play a roll esp since one of her last comments she made after her being pregnant was announced about her saying she could kill him lol. But if she is assassinated what will the new leader do with the new knowledge, look east? Possibly esp with their culture and beliefs that Hawkwings conquest was truly their entitled lands. I would love to see the next age and how it all falls together because as it was laid out in these books, the ages will turn again.
@johnridderhof45055 жыл бұрын
@Raul Mount I agree. The future of Matt, i think, is very pivotal. How far will his luck take him also now that his relevance from being the General of all armies, will he stay with her and go to Seanchan or will he try to dissolve into the farm life again or just try to travel the world and play dice. Him and Parren(sp) still have unfinished or unresolved story lines so to speak (I guess many characters actually fall into this category as well lol) outside of foreshadowing which is let's face it, up to the readers interpretation lol. But back to Matt, I think he will eventually become or fall I to one of the Heroes that will be tied to the horn if ever there will be a need for the horn again. Man lol. You got me thinking about another 14 books lmao. I hate you. Just kidding.
@johnridderhof45055 жыл бұрын
@Raul Mount also, with Rand and this new power he has...not of any of the one power, true power or anything we have heard of. Just think or visualize something and it happens? What are the possibilities of that...esp if any of his friends fall into danger or a new threat that the Aiel, Ellan, the black and white towers can not handle combined? Hmmm. So many questions lol

Can you do a video on what you think the ages are? For me (but while I'm a huge fan of WoT I'm not super up to speed with lore, despite finishing it at least twice..) it seems age one is our current, so something in the 7th age needs to have removed the one power from circulation (then its redescovered at the end of tube first age, prompting the start of the 2nd), age 2 and 3 are obviously age of legends and breaking/the book age, age 4 this video covers your thoughts on early on at least, , but it'd be nice to hear speculation on what you think ends the age and what ages 5, 6 and 7 are or might be?
@meostafford4 жыл бұрын
it's all irrelevant if rand thinks it otherwise. when he was last seen he couldn't draw on siadine or siadar but only had to think in order to light a pipe. that seems pretty op to me. as long as he's still around they will be beholding to his whims. the dragons peace was put in place because of his belief that he would die, well he didn't so he could still have an impact in those kinds of scenarios if he chose, which seems likely he would do to avoid further war in the future.

I actually got the feeling that the Seanchan were pretty well loved by most people they conquered because of the relative peace and prosperity that came with their rule. I think it’s beyond messed up because, you know, literal slavery of channelers, but I do think it’s how people in the world felt, which to me just means they’ll be that much harder to repel from the Wetlands. I think they’re here to stay almost no matter what.

I think Tuon ends up overseeing a violent breakup of the Seanchan-occupied Westlands as she becomes more pragmatic in her views of Aes Sedai and Ashaman, with extremists attempting to break away and wage war against Tuon's remaining territory. I also think she watches the newly allied Towers brought together by the actions of the more ideological Seanchan.

In the epilogue the Sanchan capture and collar Mogadian from the field of Merilor, with is technically a violation of the Dragons peace. Even if this isn't discovered it proves the Sanchan are ready to violate the treaty. Also, the Sanchan now have access to knowledge from the age of legends.

Aviende, Min and Elayne all were pregnant .. Which means their children will be siblings. Tuon was carrying Mat's child. All these children will grow into Leaders. Elayne's daughter will rule her mother's territory, Aviende's son? will lead the Aiel and Min's child will have amazing powers and I'm sure rule where the parents settle. Mat's child well carry his father's abilities and hopefully see pass his mother's people if not might be a true threat. Lan n Nynaeve will also have children that will be protectors between the Seanchan and the rest of the world. So well their parents Bind them or Split them? The next 14 books may need to cover the Offspring.

Really enjoy your videos. I just finished my 3rd re-read of the series 2 weeks ago, so this is fresh in my head, and you may be forgetting 1 very important thing about aviendha's vision of the future. There never was a plot by the seanchan to attack, the report mentioned in the vision was a fake written by the aiel because the wanted the kingdoms to attack. All signs pointed to an uneasy peace, which is mentioned by Elaine to Rand because the countries had to agree to stop fighting each other. Rand appointing the Aiel as peace keepers was meant to counter this eventuality. All that being said, once Fortuona is succeeded either by assassination or natural causes, the next empress will be a wild card and anything goes. Lastly, we dont know if the agreement between Egwayne and Fortuona existed in the timeline Aviendha saw. I think this could be the biggest source of tension in the Seanchan empire. Having to release all Damani that want to be freed could have huge ramifications, this could also be what leads to Fortuona's assassination though. I've only ever listened to the audiobooks so sorry if any of my name spellings are wrong.
