I’ll agree it’s definitely not easy, but I think this was more of a timing issue. Patience is a virtue, and if you time your jumps properly instead of rushing, it’ll be way easier.

Or you can just not do a Squid Surge while on the bit with the rotating brush, and mash the jump button instead. That still works the same as it did in S1 and S2, and it's faster for shorter distances when you factor in the charge time for squid surges.

You don't need to charge it at all. Just mash the jump button while swimming upwards. That still works the same as it did in S1 and S2. You only "need" surges when you need to jump above the inked surface, or when you're going up a wall that's high enough for the charge time to be worth it.

I'm surprised you didn't fall off the map there. A tip for dealing with enemies and other things: USE THE SMALLFRY! If you've upgraded him, he can one-shot some enemies.

@@StarExplorer1997 Side Order is a massive step up in difficulty from After Alterna, especially during the beginning. If you think you've got the basic skills to defeat hoards of enemies whilst completing objectives then go right for it, I'm just saying that After Alterna is much easier than the DLC in my opinion.

The part with the spinning bit you showed at the start is easy if you don't try to do a second squid surge. In every Splatoon game, mashing the jump button while swimming upwards makes you go faster than you would otherwise. This is still true in S3. And for shorter distances, it's faster than a Squid Surge when you include the charge time. Maybe a partially charged Squid Surge could work, IDK, but I know that just mashing jump lets you get to the top fairly consistently. Then you just squid surge through the grate, and exit squid form while above the grate.
