Well, in a sense this is a good idea. But, Deaf people can also do everything a hearing person can do except hear. It's like putting a blue sign on your car so you can park closer to a store and police know you're disabled. But, Deaf doesn't mean disabled. I think some Deaf people would enjoy having a sticker and others would be offended. It depends on the Deaf person.

We’re scared everyday for our deaf brother driving because of these kind of stories... in the driver’s side window of his car it says “DEAF DRIVER”. The last time he was pulled over, it was a good thing that i was also in the passenger seat. This is disgusting that they should even have to do this, that we all must live in fear of cops and learn how not to offend them if we want to survive. In other countries they dont do this. I actually lived in North Carolina at the time of this shooting and worked in the state legislature where they proposed a bill that all deaf people would have decals on the backs of their cars but ultimately it was shot down because some lawmakers thought it would make the deaf people easy targets for theives and criminals

Fun fact: "Hearing Impaired" is a very offensive term... use "Hard of Hearing" instead. "Impaired" just puts a label on the person saying they're less able than everyone else. I would know because I'm in Honors classes and the Honor Society for American Sign Language at my school and my mom is Hard of Hearing.
