Awesome tutorial... But as a final step I had to parent the 2 new nulls (hips & Shoulder) to the body to get the body control with the body layer... Thanks & God Bless!! :D

Yeah this is what i was looking for so long! thank you very much! would be much asking, i dont know if you already did explain it, but what if the character have a simple face, like eye like dots and a mouth, how do you rig it so it follows all the deformations of the head? thanks a lot!
@LeeDanielsART9 жыл бұрын
+Facundo G HI, thanks for watching. You could create a face in another composition, then parent that entire composition to the head layer. I have done a tutorial on facial animation, which is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWeun6ivgrOipdU Hope that helps, please share the channel on your social networks! ;)

Do you think you might do a tutorial for the updated freatures on DUIK? I am totally lost in some aspects while going through some of the tutorials but otherwise these are great.

+Danny Hengel Thanks for the kind feedback. I will be taking a look into newer features myself at some point, so maybe I'll get around to a tutorial or two later this year. Thanks for watching and please share the channel on your social networks! ;)

Another really awesome tutorial, thanks so much!! One question, in part 1 you were able to control the whole rig by selecting the body layer, but now in this you lose this ability. is there a way to make a master controller? I tried parenting the hips and shoulders to a master Null, disabling auto-strech on all layers but then the body layer seems to stretch when moving the master controller. Thanks for the help!
@LeeDanielsART10 жыл бұрын
No problem, just create a null object and parent the body artwork to it, I call it 'body mover', then parent the 'hips mover' and the 'shoulder mover' to that same null. The body mover then moves the whole central body but not the limbs. To create a 'Master mover' just create another null and parent the 'body mover' and all limb nulls to that master. Hope that helps!

LeeDanielsART Wow that worked brilliantly! Thanks so much! Really looking forward to your walk/run cycle tutorial too, all your tuts are really good!!

kyle reynolds Thanks Kyle, I'm please it worked for you! Sometimes, the best solutions are the most simple, It can get complicated using lots of nulls but I generally have a colour code that I always stick to and then I move the nulls to the top layer and 'shy' all of the others, that tends to keep things pretty tidy. More tuts to follow soon. Please do share them with your creative friends, and thanks for your support! ;)

Man I can't wait for more of your tutorials!! Generally I do "shy" most of my layers that I don't want to destroy by accident but I must get into the habit of shying the nulls. It's just so hard to make animations in AE seem fluid and less robotic. Ive used some of your techniques in a recent project I'll send you a link when it's ready to see what you think. One day hopefully we could collaborate!!

Hi @LeeDanielsART I've downloaded the latest version of DUIK and I'm having a lot of problems, the rig setup is really helpful coz I desperately need IK animation for my character, it's a spider, but only the rig on one leg works, when I add bones to the following leg it deforms and shifts to the position of the previously rigged leg, I tried hitting the reset button in the puppet option, the leg regains it's original position and shape, but then the skinning is disconnected, it's only bones moving alone, I'll be glad if you helped.
@Alice444V9 жыл бұрын
hhhhhhhh okkk I solved it! in case someone had the same problem:: RENAMING PUPPET PINS IS CRUCIAL, each puppet pin should own a different name than the other, even if it was a different limb, by default it's the same name all over, in case you're like me and avoid renaming, it's puppet pin1 puppet pin2 puppet pin3 on all two legs, so when you add the bone command to the next leg rig, it reads the previous pin again and sticks it to the new bone position, so the previous rigged leg offsets. **Remember:: New pin = new exclusive pin name= new entity/position= new bone command. Respectively~

This is so great!! Thank you so much for posting your videos! Can I ask though - how do you create the character in the first place? Illustrator? Photoshop? And also, if you have a full image, can you use one of those programs to create different layers for the body parts? I'm so new to this, so I'd appreciate the feedback! :)

Im rigging an animal with 4 legs. so the body is turned to the side and all four limbs are coming from one side. do i make the"Shoulders" and "hips" the same, apply to the new locations of the limbs, or do i simply ignore the side that doesn't have any limbs??
@GarthLaidlaw7 жыл бұрын
How do you then animate your character on top of a background in another comp? You've laid out a great character rig in it's own comp, but is there a way to reveal the background art in other comps while animating this character?
@thoreelbek79189 жыл бұрын
i dont think you have explained this, but how did you make the arms and legs not stretch out if you move the controller past their length. If i wanna move the entire body the hands and feet stay completely fixed in their position and the limbs just start stretching.. Do you know how to solve it i noticed that you dont have that problem in this video :) thanks in advance :))
@LeeDanielsART9 жыл бұрын
+Thore Elbe There should be an option, depending on your version go DUIK, to de-activate 'stretch' when you create the IK chains.
@thoreelbek79189 жыл бұрын
