It really sucks that when it comes to Nightwish people start complaining that Floor isn't able to do the classical technique and will never reach Tarja's level, that she isn't comfortable in the classical, etc. They should just listen to this and shut up. I don't know their complete catalog, but I do know that whenever I stumble on a random AF song, I'm never disappointed. Even back then, she was so effortlessly mixing opera and rock styles of singing in the same song. EDIT: I also love how you can see her breathing in this video and see how much air and control it takes to do what she does while making it look effortless.

@Johan I actually read somewhere Tarja recommended Floor to replace here, after she was fired from Nightwish. But supposedly Tuomas was stubborn and ignored Tarja due to their feud, and instead of inviting Floor, went with Annette, losing hundreds of loyal fans in an instant.

@@matickovac I don't doubt that you've read that somewhere, but I'm sorry to tell you that it's bullsh*t, at least the part about Tuomas supposedly being to "stubborn" or unwilling to go with Tarja's advice over their supposed feud. Apart from the reasons @Johan already gave (Floor being unavailable at the time and not wanting to break up After Forever), I've also heard Tuomas say in an interview that at the time, he felt Floor was a bit too young. In any case, it all came together in the end and we're reaping the benefits, with 2 amazing Nightwish albums with Floor as their main vocalist and some awesome live shows since she joined.

So was I, though I was merely at the concert, not in it. 2007 was the last ProgPower I was able to get to Atlanta for before last year. I went to the 6 of the first 8. IV is still my all time favorite. Symphony X played a kick-ass rendition of The Odyssey and Nightwish made their US debut (jettlaged as hell according to Marco, but you couldn't tell).

That's when he created originally Sahara dust, which later became Epica. But when this singer left Mark was in need of a new one and there he asked Simone, twice actually.
