It’s not the government that owns it. (I don’t think), if it’s a reverse mortgage, the bank owns it. The bank needs to sell the house. My parents had a condo (in MN) that had a reverse mortgage, the bank was contacted by us and they gave us a certain amount of days to get out. Then they sold it right away. I’m surprised they haven’t done it there. You would think the bank would want to get money.
