2:24 Roasts are cool in that sense because it’s rich and famous people ravaging their fellow rich and famous people and knowing it’s all for the sake of fun. I feel like the best-intentioned aspects of the “woke” perspective isn’t against saying nasty things, but saying them to make fun of vulnerated groups (based on economy, race, gender, sexual orientation, what-have-you) who will be unable to defend themselves due to lack of a platform and a risk of retaliation from more privileged groups. Roasts can coexist with said respect towards those groups.

I started to watch and couldn't get through it. I'm no prude, but profanity is supposed to punch up comedy, not overwhelm it in juvenile fashion. Kevin Hart set the tone, and everyone else felt they had to follow. Props for being non-woke, but that's it.

About the "Gisele jokes": they are not Gisele jokes. They are jokes about a broken marriage. So, if anything, they hit both of them. Nobody went after Gisele personally. They made fun of Brady's miserable lovelife. Tough love, Gisele, for better or worse, you were a part of that.

However, comedy does NOT have to "take you out of your comfort zone"; or any other of that NONSENSE. "Bill Cosby, Himself" (May, 1983) is still the funniest hour-and-45-minutes in the history of live stand-up. Billy Gardel's "Halftime" is a DISTANT second place.

so disappointed by Tom Brady’s performance at the end when he got up to roast his roasters. His over-protective ego seemed to be on foul display and it was interesting to see and hear even the audience cringe as he promoted his own greatness, like a child He could have mixed in humor, confidence, self-deprecation and graciousness with jabs at his roasters, but instead he was all self-aggrandizing pride and conceit I thought, maybe he’ll become humble and gracious near his closing remarks. Nope I liked him up until the roast👎 Our society produces these weird personalities who think they’re gods or something because of their fame and wealth… when in reality they’re just football players and/or actors At the peak of western civilization, entertainers in 17th century England were considered the lowest strata of civilized society. Today it’s difficult to imagine living in a society where honor is given to those whose talents actually strengthen society and the next generation… mothers, firefighters, teachers, spiritual leaders, farmers, healers, warfighters, and virtuous leaders of nations Today we honor what globalization needs us to honor… anything that drives more and more consumption and consumerism… which only results in national psychosis
