Fruit Empanadas Recipe:
These fruit empanadas were so easy to make and it’s only five ingredients. I cook them in the air fryer and it took about 15 minutes per batch and I could get about 15 empanadas cooked at a time. Do you want to make sure that you don’t overfill the air fryer or the air won’t get underneath to cook the bottoms. I’m not familiar with air fryer so it did take me a little longer to figure it out but once I did they cooked perfectly. They were so nice and crispy on the outside and the cream cheese and fruit jam were perfect together. And then dipping them into the white chocolate and chocolate syrup was the perfect topping.
ingredients:
Two blocks of cream cheese, softened
2 to 4 (2) packs of premade pie crust brought to room temperature
Different flavors of jam
One stick of butter, melted
2 teaspoons of pumpkin spice
2 tablespoons of sugar
Air fryer
Directions:
1. Start by rolling out your pie crust and cutting it with a bowl that measures about 6 inches diameter. Make sure to save the extra dough because you can roll it out. I got about eight empanadas per piecrust.
2. Place about 1 tablespoon of cream cheese in the middle of your circle making sure to spread it out, and then one to 2 teaspoons of jam on top.
3. For the tops over, seal the edges with a fork, then brush with melted butter making sure to get the ends last sprinkle it with your pumpkin spice sugar mixture, then place in to your air fryer. My air fryer temperature was 355° and they cooked for about 15 minutes.
4. Placed them on the board and serve them with varying dipping sauces, I used white chocolate and dark chocolate syrup that used for lattes and cappuccinos.
Note: if the bottoms don’t crisp up, it’s because you have too many in there, make sure to place them side-by-side with airflow able to get to the bottoms I actually stacked mind the first time, and the place is that no air could get two were mushy. If you have to flip them over to get the tops crispy just be careful because they might fall apart.
