Thank you so much Cyrena 🙏 Hair type (fine/medium/coarse) and not Hair Pattern (curly/wavy/straight) is really what determines the products you use to care for your hair. But if you mean wearing your hair naturally curly/wavy the "curly girl method" is really the best way I've found. But it's a commitment bc you have to do it all the time. Aka: You can't go back and forth between smooth styles and natural curls 👍

@Blowout Professor Hi Chris! What is your opinion on using an all natural hair oil, such as an almond oil & olive oil blend? They are both lightweight and much cheaper than professional oils. Am I actually hydrating my ends enough with this mixture? Also, is it okay to use leave in conditioner every day on dry hair? Just enough to help keep it moisturized?

I found your channel recently and can’t thank you enough for your information and tips. I started with this video on three different hair types and quickly went down a rabbit hole to solve my chronic hair dilemmas 😄 After struggling with my hair for months (using way too much Olaplex 4 and 5!) I purchased Redken Volume Injection, Cleansing Cream, Big Blowout, and a thermal protectant from Joico (Hot Sets 22 wasn’t available but I have it on order). I followed your suggestions to a T and am happy to report that I’m now on my second day post wash and my fine hair is still clean and fluffy-and that’s even after a fairly sweaty workout last evening. My hair barely needs a minor touch up this morning! I’ve always used salon products but clearly hadn’t been using them correctly. Thank you!

My hair has always been pretty good, but this past summer I had to suddenly have half my head shaved due to the discovery of a brain tumor and immediate surgery. My hair growing in is different than the rest, plus it is short... obviously. I had my hair cut above the shoulders and added bangs and for a while even some hair extensions. It is all very traumatic and most days I just hate my hair- which was never the case. I had long hair for the past 20 years, and while short hair is cute- I didn't choose this. I have enough length now that I feel I can take care of it without sobbing from the way it looks or just shoving it all under a hat or scarf. I am buying several of these products because I need to blow dry or do something with heat to make it look half decent... I'm noticing it becoming dry as short hair has to be styled. No scrunchies for me yet as I can't use bobbie pins- they hurt my now sensitive scalp around the scar. I look forward to seeing some improvement as so much of what you're saying makes sense and I watched several of your videos. My sister uses a lot of these products too and her hair looks great and is similar to mine. thank you for posting so much of this info for free on KZbin. I cried through most of them, but I'm determined to have the hair that is still there- to grow in healthy. I want length again... some day. Best to you and yours. 💜

I personally thank you for the great channel and the information you provide to the public for free! 2 days ago I discovered your channel. To my great shame, the technique of washing my hair under the shower was not correct either, I put into practice all your suggestions, my hair looks gorgeous, it is medium and wavy, dyed in a color similar to the natural color, I have white hair and a little past shoulder-length, iron / electric brush occasionally use them. My hair looks divine, it was crying for leave in conditioner and oil, plus heat protection for special occasions.

I'm male, and have a rigid science background (a Chemistry prof (nothing to do with pharmacy) at Australias' largest and most highly regarded Uni.), so I apply it to your comments and instructions. Your directions all make sense for longer hair, but my hair is reasonably short and so doesn't need most of the steps you describe - although your comments on drying the hair ring true for me. My hair tends to frizz a little, just enough to be untidy. Years ago (I'm far from young) my hairdresser put me onto Schwarzkopf Hair Repair, Leave in Conditioner, and it achieved the solrt of things you describe (I don't blow dry my hair, but just massage it gengtly under a stream of warm (under 60 C) air), and the Schwarzkopf is added, with restraint, before that process, which doesn't take long, is finished. The result, my hair is shiny and manageable, the tendency to frizz a little is totally gone. And what is more, the product has a pleasant odor, suited to both (er - to all) sexes. So, it's not a product you mention, but in general, I apply your principles. Thank you.

Well, Chris, you would’ve had a good laugh seeing me trying out your after shower routine. Apparently I need practice blow drying the way you describe. 😂 I wrestled my long hair like an octopus to section it, tension it and try to get the blow dryer actually pointed at my hair. 😂😂😂 It looks amazing anyway. I’ll keep practicing. Maybe you could have someone demonstrate how to dry hair on oneself. It’s kinda awkward for me so far. Before I saw your videos, I just dried my hair upside down and hoped for the best. 😂😂😂 Thanks again for educating us! ❤ I hope I get to visit Florida and your salon some day.

Thank you so much for this. In case you read it; I'm the same person that left a diary entry on one of your other videos haha. I have watched several videos so far as I had a hair mask mixed with oil in to soak (as per the Gisou pre-wash treatment, which after watching your videos is starting to make me wonder if that's even right/necessary). In one of them you mention an after shower routine so I went to look for it as I'm about to wash my hair. What you said about leave in conditioner and hair oil helped me specifically as I just bought those (also from Gisou) because I thought it was the right thing to do but at the same time wasn't sure on the why as detailed enough as my autistic brain would have liked for it to be. Your explanation really helped, so thank you! Should you have the time to read and reply, I do have one question. In the other video you mentioned using a conditioner after having used a hair mask would be redundant. I thought that too at first, as I thought the hair mask would close of the hair in a way a conditioner would. But Gisou says that the conditioner is necessary because the hair mask leaves the cuticles open so as to fully be able to absorb its ingredients and so a conditioner is supposedly necessary so as to close them again. But now I'm confused. Is it possible that their hair mask just works in a different way than other masks and thus requires a conditioner? Or is that just... untrue? And maybe to sell more product? I did notice their information sometimes contradicting themselves so I'm not sure now what to follow. I'm inclined to do as you say but to be honest I think I'm way too neurotic to just decide that on my own considering Gisou saying you need to use a conditioner afterwards. I'm not a native English speaker so I hope this makes sense should you have time to read and reply. Either way thank you so much for this content. On to the 'why you NEED hair oil' video and washing my hair. I imagine it's gonna be a super strategic hair washing session now, haha! Have a lovely day❤

Chris I loved your videos so much I think I watched all of them and some twice. My hair is over processed and problems from lots of breakage, frissie, perm colored and now dealing with gray hair. I'm a retired licensed manicurist in my( late 60's) so I'm able to order the products you have recommended at a beauty supply store at a discount so that is helpful to me. In the past I've ordered so many products that mostly didn't work or I didn't use them properly and now I have a graveyard full of products and just wasn't convinced to try more different products and have it end up in the graveyard stash. The other day I spent a great deal of time after washing my hair and styling into the beachy wave curls with my new Lange hair styling curling wand and I was happy until about one hour and notice the curls were almost gone and I thought what was the point. All that time was wasted. Disappointed I searched youtube for something I could get to make my curls last longer, and that's when I found YOU! I watched all your videos and some twice. You convinced me to order products that was best suited for my hair. I ordered most of the products that I needed right away and will order the others later. My order was delivered yesterday and I worked on my hair right away following your step by step instructions for proper cleaning my hair and prep for blowout using my Lange Blower Brush. I was totally amazed how much better my hair looked and felt. My husband agreed too. I haven't tried curling yet but will next time I need a wash. I am sooooooo happy! I'm going to recommend you to the salon girls and ask about them having products you recommended in the shop. Do you have any tutorial videos on hair coloring products, best brands do's and don'ts? This is a game changer for sure. Now what do I do with all the graveyard stuff?

Curly girls have after shower hair routines that they follow religiously. I detangle in the shower while I have a lot of conditioner on my hair. Microfiber towel is a must. I use a microfiber hair wrap. I then use a leave in conditioner, a curl cream, and a gel. A Denman brush to distribute the product and then I diffuse it about half dry and air dry the rest. I dont usually need to scrunch out the crunch from that, either which is nice.

I see you’re big into Redken and Pureology but about Kerastase products, Davines or other salon branded products? Some more info on that would be super helpful. I feel like diff salons push diff brands and it becomes really confusing to navigate.

Ok, this sounds great for LONG hair, my hair is so fine that it dries real fast once I towel dry. I use velcro rollers to get volume. I use a very small amount of Joico Joigel Firm 8 for styling. When my hair is dry, I take out the velcro rollers and back comb my hair for to get volume and finally spray my hair lightly with Matrix VaVoom Freezing Spray or Paul Mitchell's firm style freeze and shine super spray. Without these product in my hair, my hair will fall flat within an hour. I cannot afford the product you suggest, they are way too expensive for this seniors budget.

I've been wondering for ages why I still get lots of breakage and split ends and this video has just given me a big light bulb moment. I never realised the blow dry cream can't protect from straightening after too. That means I've been frazzling my hair 😂😂😂 Oh dear hahaha. Thanks so much this is the most useful thing I've heard in a long time!!

Hi! I have a question… So since I’ve never been good at blow drying my hair this is what I’ve usually always done. Wash& apply leave in, air dry hair completely (it’s thick and gets frizzy), then use thermal spray and straighten my roots to mid (tame frizz), then use thermal spray again and curl. The air drying takes FOREVER though😢 I was wondering if instead of air drying and straightening roots to mid, would the blow drying brush be better and less damaging or about the same ? 🤔 Thank you!

I like cream leave ins because my hair is very dry. And I apply it on damp hair and have no problem spreading it throughout my hair.

I've been watching your videos for 3 weeks now and I have bought the shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, big blowout, the heat protectant, and oil for my hair.. I have used them twice now and the second time was alot better than the first.. but I really like this routine.. I'm just having a hard time doing the curling method you do.. the rope curls, (cause I'm so use to the curling iron with the clamp) but my curls are lasting 3 to 4 days now and I only wash every 5 days.. long story I know, but I've really educated myself with your techniques and I feel like this is gonna work for me.. I've always used high end products but it just seems like these work really good in my hair.. thank you for all the videos, you truly taught me alot..I will continue to watch your videos..👍❤️🙏

Thank you Chris, I love your videos & find them so helpful . I have naturally wavy , course , bleached hair & find it difficult to maintain my style so I usually end up straightening my hair because after a day my curles & waves turn to friz

All steps 1-6 , I do to a T. I keep the leave- in the shower with a wet brush. As far as styling?... I consider my Revlon Voluming Roller dryer & I have it on a low setting, as far as spray I barely spritz it bcuz with my drying with my head down , hair clips, ect. , the hair spray can tend to either dry the hair out or make it harder to wash out & it end up tangling & breaking off hair so...that is why.

Thank you for the great advice! I'm a new subscriber and watcher. I have some questions: 1. If you are doing a hair mask, should you still do the leave in conditioner and oil after showering if you have fine hair? Also, I have heard that brushing your hair while it is wet promotes breakage because the hair is more fragile when wet? Do you find this true? I suppose not since it's in your video. I only wash my hair once a week. I've gotten to stretching it that far. Since I only wash my hair once a week, should I do a hair mask every time I wash? My hair is fine, past waist length. I use a wet brush and no heat ever, no styling products except argan oil on my ends. I've had long hair for years and already do much of your advice already, but still had these questions. Thank you so much for your advice and help! :)

Just my personal notes: Pat the hair dry Flip hair Put that smelly thing about 8 sprays + heat spray, then detangle (buy leave in conditioner) Buy blowout cream Rough dry - flip hair and blow dry until it gets frizzy Detangle again, buy wet brush Blow dry, pull hair straight. Smooth and steady Iron cream - protection about 400°c. Get it really well in, section by section, brush out. Dont use too much. Hair oil at the ends. Little bit, rub hands, put on ends.

What about us wavy/ curly girls who can't brush our hair when wet? If I do that, it ruins my wave pattern (I always air dry my hair). Wondering how to evenly disperse the leave-in conditioner without brushing? I scrunch with an old t shirt and my hands to start the drying process. I usually put hair oil in after scrunching - when my hair is still damp enough to clump together - I put the oil on and then use a creme gel to hold my waves. Should I be using the creme gel when wet and adding the oil on the ends later, after my hair dries?

I use a wide comb before à brush because it helps detangling big ass tangles more easily without breakage. I start from the bottom before getting to the top abd when i get à tangle i do some répétitive, really smooth pushes until its okay. I loose way less hair like that during brushing.

I have binged watched all your videos they are super awesome! About a week ago I wasn’t using any heat protectant and I took your advice on the Kenra Styling Spray (I’m an amateur though) but my hair hasn’t been more amazing! The Kenra thermal styling spray is my absolute favourite and it’s the first and only heat protectant I’ve bought and probably will ever use now Your videos are super instructional and straight forward and I trust you with my life now ☺️
