my personal pick for the year is the keyboard i have rn, the keychron Q1HE. Build quality is honestly impressive, the double rail switches fix the annoying chatter HE switches tend to have, it is a bit pricy (stock prebuilt comes at like 220 euros), but it's worth it. Software is also great, maybe not as good as wootility, but honestly, it's still a pleasure to use. Also, moddability is way higher cause the layout is way more standard and keychron also sells acoustic upgrading kits and a brass plate should you want an upgrade. When it comes to specs for gaming, according to a couple spreadsheets i saw on reddit, it's even better than wooting when it comes to polling rate. So yeah, i'd take keychron over wooting any day, this thing i'm writing with is built like a tank, sounds great and if you swap the keycaps you can easily make it look really neat as well.

I like the sound and typing feel of the K2 HE, but it not as solid as me Lemokey P1, which I knew it wouldn't be, but it is not even close. I am going to go for the Lemokey H5 HE. I thought about the Q1 HE, but I couldn't get my Q1 Pro to sound quite how I wanted.

My first backed kickstarter project was the K2HE and ngl, I was worried since I really shelled out for all the bells and whistles, but I gotta say, I love it! I really couldn't ask for much more. What's a really pleasant surprise is how quiet it is. If you press gently, it still actuates while not making noise, but if you bottom the keys out, it makes a nice thocky sound.

Thanks to your coverage of the Lofree Lite I went for it. I just received mine recently and the Nuphy went out the window instantly. Really appreciate the detailed overviews, etc all the time. Saved me a bundle and a disappointment as I was going to grab the older Lofree version from Amazon. I’ve always used Tactile switches so I’m stunned how much I like the stock linear switches in the Lite. I’m seriously considering getting the quieter version though for certain workspaces though compared to the chunky sounding Nuphy the Spectres are already quieter. My favourite part though is the feel. Using the Nuphy it was like typing on a two-by-four with keys. This is a gorgeous typing experience. Comfortable to type on without losing the thock. Having the adjustable feet is nice even with the weird rubber attachments. Also having a place for the 2.4ghz dongle is always a + though I wish in 2025 it was a usb c dongle. It would’ve cost maybe 1 dollar more to have usb c dongles made vs using the existing stock of usb a dongles. I also mostly I like the look. I have the white 87% and it has the look of what an Apple Mechanical keyboard would look like. I say mostly because there’s a couple of things about the look I don’t particularly like. See cons section. The only things I don’t particularly enjoy (aka cons) include: 1. All plastic build - I’d actually be ok with it being a bit less portable. That said it’s very sturdy for an all plastic build. 2a. The forehead. I’m not a fan. I think it detracts from the look a bit but with the volume spinner I guess they needed it. 2b. That logo. I hate, I mean HATE having logos stuck in my face. I know who I bought a product from thank you very much and if someone asks I’ll happily tell them. They don’t need to peer over my shoulder to get a look at the logo to find out the name of the company. It would’ve been ok if they just used their O shaped logo mark. That would’ve been subtle enough imo to be fine. 3. A minor gripe. I don’t like the gold colour of the spinner. It looks cheap & cheapens the overall look. A simple black, grey, silver or even better white coloured spinner would’ve been preferred. 4. It should’ve come with a usb c dongle instead of a usb a dongle imo. Summary: When you combine the pros and cons though this is easily my favourite low profile keyboard to date and is already my daily driver. The important stuff like typing feel is so far ahead of others (especially Nuphy) I can live with the cosmetic things I’d like to be different. Also even though I counted the all plastic build as a bit of a con this is also now my portable daily driver due to its weight so I guess in a way the all plastic build is a pro and con. Note: I used to carry either an old Lenovo wireless keyboard (the one that looks like they ripped it right off the Lenovo laptop - it still has 1 of the best typing experiences in any keyboard portable or desktop I’ve ever found. Sadly the battery is almost dead after all these years. My other portable keyboard used to be the Apple Keyboard. It’ll be nice to have a mechanical for on the go as well. I’m considering getting a full size Lite for my desk and moving this one permanently to my laptop bag. Thanks for another great review/overview. Have a great 2025. Christopher

Retiring my gskill KM360 pretty soon just wanted to leave a couple comments about HOW GOOD this keyboard is. for the price lasted me 6+ years of intensive gaming. (probably over 20,000 hours) and has never failed me even once, i don't even have a bad thing to say about it, its simple, no software which a lot of people want but I don't mind, when I bought it for 50$ I was on a budget and have pretty much replace everything in those 6 years but the keyboard. if you're looking for a starter or don't need all the fancy's and the best sounding one i suggest this one. @@clodvonclout what’s the main different between the 99 and the pro? Aside the knob
@clodvoncloutАй бұрын
@@dwickyramadhan8772 I don't have the pro model to make a real world comparisson. The pro has the following differences. 1. volume knob F99 can control volume up and down via Fn+ F11 and F12 2. south facing RGB im not picky with north or south. I think north is better as I can use shine through keycaps. I don't plan replacing key caps anytime soon so this does not matter to me. Some say to get south for cherry profile compatibility. However the F99 uses cherry key caps it seems, so the orientation does not really matter. 3. No 'end' key I use the end key for excel, the pro does not have this (don't know if there is a Fn+ for it, will most probably have). 4. numpad, double size 0 this is a plus, im not bothered with a smaller 0 on the non-pro 5. switches the pro in my country only have greywood shaft and star axis as choices. 6. battery indicator the pro has a smaller indicator between Esc and F1 key. The non pro has this indictor between the keypad and numpad (where the hm, pgup, pgdn keys are on the pro version). Good luck. The F99 reaper is really a great keyboard to type on. Now im curious what the other switches feel like. Greywood v4 is also available. Debates on Reaper vs Greywood are a lot.

Great video! I’m a newbie to the world of mechanical keyboards, but I’m super intrigued by the Keychron. I’m not a gamer, but I am a full-time writer and editor, and the idea of being able to adjust for faster typing speeds sounds awesome. Do you feel that that magnetic hall switches really make a big difference in typing speed and productivity? Is it worth it for someone who isn’t using the keyboard for gaming?
@SwitchandClickOfficialАй бұрын
It depends on what your typing speed is already. If you are very confident touch typing, it's likely a shorter actuation distance could make you more productive. It's not a huge difference, and you do get more switch options with mechanical than with HE. I've been using my Wooting 60HE for some time and I barely play any games, and it's difficult to switch back to mechanical because I use 1.0mm as my actuation distance.

Best full size keyboards with numpads?
@ElCapitanGamesАй бұрын
have you tried just not turning off the keyboard and see if there is any noticeable battery difference? It might just be so low draw, that with a speedy auto-off system, you never need to turn it off manually. Idk just thinking out loud. My wireless lasts a long time without ever turning it off.

Hiiii! I love your videos! I wanted to know if you have done a review on the Mercury K1 Pro Special Edition - Cyberpunk keyboard as I have been thinking of getting this one day! Also how are you? :3

How do the mode and cyber keyboards fit in that list? Aren’t they just expensive or the higher price tag worth it?

Can you do a best full keyboard video by any chance as someone who plays army simulators I need a numpad

Meh, keychron V1 max beats all these. While it may not be a show horse, it's definitely a work horse. Several options for connections, relatively compact design, hot swap, switch design, gasket mount, full support for Windows and Mac and offers a barebones version you can build yourself that only costs $80.00 USD. Dollar for dollar, best value you can get.

Hey, I'm based in Germany and sadly there are only a few iso keyboards. Is there something comparable to the Aula F75 (Ice Vein) in feel & sound with an iso layout? Don't care how much it costs, even if it's 300€

Bridge75 is in ISO.

Can't you flip the on off switch without taking the capkey off? Try sliding a thin screw driver or the edge of a key removal tool?
