I loved seeing Claire again, she is sooo adorable! You are so right, we should be grateful for what we have. I don't have a beautiful walk in pantry, I just have a pantry closet and I'm forever straightening it. I do have a little pantry envy of some who post gorgeous room size beautifully organized pantries but I'm happy with what we have. We are very blessed and I'm truly grateful! I've had a couple of major surgeries in the last 2 years and I was so hard on myself for not being able to do what I usually do, especially during the holidays. 2024 is my year to lighten up my load. I don't need to everything I do. I enjoy entertaining and hosting all the holidays but it wasn't easy this year. I vow to not worry about perfection with our home as I'm so OCD. Life is too short, it's time for adventures and not cleaning and decorating 12 hours of the day!! I started watching KZbin videos during the pandemic and it was fun but I soon was out trying to find all the pieces people were decorating with and it was too much. I'm now doing what I used to do and it looks great. Enjoy your beautiful family and live life. Wishing you the best in 2024!!❤

I can have some OCD tendencies as well but having a child really helped change that and try to just BE! I also understand your struggles of seeing stuff on KZbin and wanting to go shop. These influencers do it to ya!

The one piece of advice I give young people in my world is "Ask yourself if you were not in love with this person would they be your friend?" Looks like you and Nick nailed that. It's so important to truly LIKE the person you are with, and have things in common and enjoy each other's company. Good for you! I will be putting Christmas to bed tomorrow. Not fun but necessary.

Hi Genevieve First may i say your skin is glowing. Motherhood looks great on you. I used to fuss about how my house looked that everything should be spic k and span it gave me so much anxiety. As mothers with families and older children running to drs sports events its hard to get everything done. Being a wife and mother is the most inportant thing will ever do. Oh, gosh, that is so wonderful for you guys. I've been with my husband for 25 years and there've been many ups and downs, that's for sure! We raised three kids, (19,16, and 12 - one boy, 2 girls,) through 2 recessions, loss of jobs, multiple traumatic events, and life surely has taken its toll on us. I hope you keep what you have forever! I'm sure you will. Soak it all in! Claire is, in a word, "delicious!" My favorite KZbin baby of 2023!! Sooo darned cute!!

Gen, it’s so fun seeing these day in the life videos added to your channel as well as seeing Claire as she grows up. I love the thrifting and hauls along with how you decorate with your found treasures. It’s so fun to hear Claire in the background, it’s real mom life and brings back special memories of raising my own two children who are now raising my grandsons and granddaughter. I appreciate that you are willing to share the real stuff and you don’t make life look perfect when we all know it’s not that way for any of us. I have to also do the dishes first. Somehow the kitchen feels less overwhelming when the dishes are finished. The rest of the clean up goes faster somehow. I had to come back and add this….. love that you share your relationship with Nick. Sounds to me like you’ve found a good man, a friend as well as the love of your life. I’ve been blessed in the same way with my husband. We’ve been together since 1982 and married since 1984. It will be 40 years on August 12th. I can’t imagine life without him in it.
