As an agnostic this video has given me lots to think about. In my opinion Western society pushes atheism as the solution to everything and views people who believe in God as if they're stupid for believing in a higher power or as if they're somehow deluded, in favour of a materialistic society. However looking at things from a logical stand point something can't just come from nothing everything has to be created. Very interesting video and has made me think about the big questions.

Here’s my take on this: Fine tuning is a poor argument due to the fact that many of its premises end up saying that “if this were even slightly different, then there would be no life” many of these statements are true. How ever (and this is going to get complicated really fast) the fact that it has to happen, means that if it wasn’t like that, then life doesn’t occur. But there are hundrededs of millions of planets in the observable universe alone, and a possibly infinite number outside of that. If you have an infinite number of tries to do something, then, no matter how unlikely the scenario, it is virtually guaranteed that a certain combination of factors will be present at a certain time. If there was no life possible on one planet, then our focus, for the moment anyways, would shift to a differnt planet, to see if that one could have life.

The "fine tuning of the universe"-argument.... Pardon me, but a universe that is absolutely deadly to humans in 99.9~% of its entire area doesn't really seem fine tuned for human life. Heck, most areas of the planet Earth were deadly to humans until we invented technology to help us survive on the planet that you claim god made to "support human life in an all-benevolent way". Not to mention that even if the distances, fundamental constants, etc were different, it doesn't mean that life would be impossible, it'd just have a different outcome of what life would look like. You're arguing "I picked this die and rolled a 6. This means this die is destined by god to roll only 6s.". My counter argument is "No, it just happened to land with 6 top. Here is how to destroy the fine tuning argument: - There is no reason to assume, that it is even possible for these parameters to have turned out any differently than what they have and we only know of one universe and that universe also happens to have life in it, so the probability for life to form in a universe, could also be 100% for all we know. - The universe, we live in, doesn't even seem to be that hospitable for life, considering our planet is the only planet that we know of, that harbors life. - If the universe wasn't tuned to support life, we wouldn't even be here today in order to discuss this issue. - If you throw a d6 1000 times and record the sequence of numbers, the probability of that particular result to have occurred is 6^-1000, which is about 1 / 10^778. Hmmm Multiverse is a hypothesis right? Well guess what? So is God! Also, it's interesting how in your video you mention "Allah" as the creator. How can you demonstrate the creator you speak of is in fact Allah? Additionally, you said Atheists go to great lengths to dispute these minute probabilities. Well that's just not true. It's very easy to deal with this by realizing that the outcome that occured( our universe) is just as likely as any other outcome, and these other outcomes would have simply been something different. So there's no evidence of fine tuning, we are just one of many possible outcomes.
@aminelahnin8375 жыл бұрын
Actually, none of what you have said are hypothesis but instead they are beliefs which we have no problem with, but in order to belief something you need to have overwhelming reasons that supports it, and in the case of Allah(SWT) it has, but I don't have the mood rn to give you some arguments although I will suggest you if you are sincere to look up at some channels, I would suggest EFDawah or even SCDawah in some particular videos, also the word Allah(SWT) literally means God even arabic christians and jews call god Allah, just to clarify things, and may Allah(SWT) guide you to the right path.

His argument about the moon is flawed because 1) the moon has always been getting further away from the Earth 2) already the solar eclipse is not quite complete, the moon's visual angle has diminished so much. 3) other planets have total solar eclipses (sun has a smaller visual angle whilst the moons have bigger ones) There are areas of Earth uninhabitable to humans, so Earth isn't perfect. Humans are built for particular areas of the Earth, not the other way around. You can tell by all the adaptations that certain races of people have developed to survive. Higher affinity haemoglobin in high altitudes, Sickle cell trait in malaria prevalent countries, Toll-like receptors for bubonic plague in Romani-gypsie people, anti-biotic resistant bacteria in hospitals. @Anvilshock3 жыл бұрын
Vulgarity as a rhetoric element is called hyperbola. You may not like it, it may not be elegant, but that doesn't invalidate anything. Ironically enough, this makes in fact _your_ comment invalid: not because it was vulgar (it wasn't) but because you're just judging on superficialities, ignoring or outright dismissing the underlying message and its chosen form of relaying. You're not interested in actually listening, you're shutting down just from hearing. As in, hearing what you don't like. No sane atheist ever claimed to be able to explain everything. This is not least due to the reason behind your worn-out, tiresome fallacy of "a genius can simplify complicated things". (But that's what you like, isn't it? Recite the same old, same old phrases you've memorised in the hopes of making you sound sagely and wise and intellectually more respectable-looking than you really are?) No sane atheist ever claimed to be a genius. (Corollary, neither are you. After all, why else would you demand the simple version?) It's also due to a very simple fact: The universe isn't measured against man. Man is measured against the universe. The universe doesn't care whether it's explainable within the span of a bedtime story. You religious folks, however, for some reason expect it to be. Well, no. The reason you folks claim to be able to explain the universe is because you made it. As in, made it up. The reason why "us folks" _can't_ explain the universe, or in fact even try to, although we're finding out more bit by bit, is because we didn't make it up. In fact, if anything, the _universe made us._ So, go ask the universe about it. As in, do actual research. Oh wait, you won't, because you're busy clinging to a fairy tale and mindlessly reciting worn-out phrases.

Just because numbers are small and need to exist in certain ways doesn't inherently prove a designer(especially nothing indicating it's specifically _your_ God) All of these vague points start off with the presumption that the universe was created _for_ life to exist and not just that life happened to be on this planet in this universe. Also, i'm not sure about the others, but the things about the Earth needing to be a specific distance from the sun are just a flat out lie. The Earth's orbit isn't perfectly circular. We regularly move 3% closer or farther from the sun as we orbit around it. And the goldilock zone(the area where, given the right atmospheric pressure) liquid water can exist is _much_ wider than you make it out to be.
@SjN7HETIK5 жыл бұрын
further, if that numbers were mandatory to obtain that result, it's obvious that is not a designer behind but just the probability that made this happen here and not in other billions of potential earths, (MAYBE because we can't really tell there is no other life there)...So is not there because a creator put it there, it's there because if it wasn't we'd be just another potential earth. Lastly, religious seems not able to imagine life without a purpose: so u see them write like 'WHY we were created?' ...I can ask u instead, why should be a reason at every cost?

4 Tips to gain the love of ALLAH. 1. Repentance: “Indeed Allah loves those who are constantly repentant.” (Holy Qur’an 2:222) Allah loves the repentant slave, who constantly turns back to Him, knowing He is the All-Forgiving, Most-Forgiving, the Acceptor of Repentance, the Pardoner. No matter how often one repeats a sin, and no matter how grave the sin is, one should constantly turn back to Allah. Abu Hurayrah narrated that he heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying, “If somebody commits a sin and then says, ‘O my Lord! I have sinned, please forgive me!’ and his Lord says, ‘My slave has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven my slave (his sins).’ Then he remains without committing any sin for a while and then again commits another sin and says, ‘O my Lord, I have committed another sin, please forgive me,’ and Allah says, ‘My slave has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven my slave (his sin).’ Then he remains without Committing any another sin for a while and then commits another sin (for the third time) and says, ‘O my Lord, I have committed another sin, please forgive me,’ and Allah says, ‘My slave has known that he has a Lord Who forgives sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven My slave (his sin), he can do whatever he likes.’” (Bukhari) One should follow up a bad deed with seeking forgiveness and doing good deeds, so that the bad deed is wiped out. One should not tire of repenting to Allah. It was narrated by Anas that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Every son of Adam commits sin, and the best of those who commit sin are those who repent.” (Ibn Majah) 2. Purification: “Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves.” (Holy Qur’an 2:222) Allah loves when a slave purifies himself from impurities, both major and minor. Being pure also includes being pure from shirk and sinfulness etc... 3. God-consciousness: “Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who fear Him].” (Holy Qur’an 09:04) Often translated as God-consciousness or piety, taqwa is to protect oneself from the Hellfire by performing what has been commanded by Allah and abstaining from what has been prohibited. 4. Goodness and perfecting our good deeds: “And Allah loves the doers of good.” (Holy Qur’an 3:134) The complete verse reads, “Who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good.”

Please answer this with facts and i want you to *proof* that ALLAH exists. (I don't believe in god so lets See if you're saying the same bullshit as everybody else)

you seem like a nice enough guy, but you got a bunch of your data wrong, and ending it with "well theres no proof for the multiverse theory so poof" when your entire video was about an unproven, much less plausible Magic superman theory betrays your biases

God(if he is so merciful he wouldnt let that happen so he doesnt exist) let so many people die because of him (wars for religion) and if he is so merciful why are so many people starving because over 10000 billion dollars has been spent on churches and who created God and what God exists maybe Zeus or Athena or Allah??PEOPLE CREATED GOD BECAUSE THEY HAD NO CONFIDENCE IN THEMSELVES SO THEY CREATED HIM BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT GOD WOULD HELP THEM WITH THEIR PROBLEMS THEY COULDNT SOLVE THEMSELVES

Yes I am convinced that the Flying Spaghetti Monster created everything. Plus this video needs more Pirates in it! You do understand that Climate Change has been linked to the lack of Flamboyant & Fabulous Pirates whose numbers have been in decline in the last few centuries.

So... watched your video, still don't believe in any gods. Any chance you meant to write a different title for your video? Fine tuning, as an argument, only works if you first assume the result is intended. So basically you are begging the question, and doing so with a big smile on your face.

@Naim Syed these assertions seem to be an example of what I was talking about. How do you show your claims are accurate?
@devb99124 жыл бұрын
@Naim Syed either you are not explaining this well or I am not understanding it well. Nothing you have written shows, as far as I can tell, that anything is intended. All I can see is you claiming there is intention (and now also an absence of intention) and yet nothing showing this is the case. I don't know particle physics but how have you determined that the particles you describe act this way (assuming they do) due to intentional direction of a deity and not because that's just how physics works?
@devb99124 жыл бұрын
@Naim Syed it is not part of my chosen field of work and I have never gone out of my way to study it. I have no doubt it is fascinating, but it's never been something that I was drawn to. Do you have a way of determining what you described is the intention of a deity rather than the natural result of how physics works?
@devb99124 жыл бұрын
@Naim Syed what applies??? I have asked a question 3 times of you that you have yet to answer. Can you answer the question? If not then evidently all you are doing is assuming there is intent... which is what I said the fine tuning argument is in the first place.

All this video boils down to is a puddle asserting the hole it's in was designed specifically for the puddle to exist in, with absolutely no argument as to why this is. Was this supposed to make me believe in god or make me believe you have no clue how proof from causality works? - As the second of those is what happened, not the first.

Using the probability of our earth is so in accurate. I would look at the Drake equation, not only does that tell how many exoplanets (planets that are in the habitable zone of the sun) but then equation gives you the # of how many intelligent alien species there would be just in our galaxy, and that comes out to be 36
