I know this is a scorching topic in this country right now. But baby trapping is not OK. OP has every right to decide WHEN she wants children. That's why she was on birth control, to begin with. Her husband was just awful. He did not have the right to decide for her. She wouldn't have lied to him if he wasn't deceitful, first of all.

I don't believe in abortions unless rape/forced or child won't live. Even being forced I feel is a stretch for me personally. But for a woman or child to also be forced to destroy her body and or life forever either way is major PTS for a female to be faced with. No matter my opinion, it isn't my place to condemn her for two choices that will have lasting effects.

I applaud your response. People can decide that they would not choose abortion for themselves but respect other people’s feelings and decisions. This is not an easy decision but one that is usually made with much angst. Having worked with many women who have had to make this difficult decision, I have never encountered a woman who cavalierly approached this as an alternate to birth control. We cannot force our beliefs on others and we should not try. My heart goes out to all women who have or will have to make this decision.

Yes! People say "Pro life vs. Pro abortion" but that isn't right, it's pro-choice. How did we get here, where the government has a say over our bodies, it's freaking terrifying. Can you imagine if men had the govt tell them to even blow their nose once a month? There would be a war.

I just can't reconcile killing an innocent being (and, yes, I have been in a similar position, and, yes, having the baby changed the whole course of my life). If the husband tampered with the BC pills, then she should absolutely divorce him. However, why kill the innocent child? Again, not my place to judge, but dang, killing a baby ...

Sue didn't want a baby...that's enough reason to not have a baby. Adoption is more often worse on the child (there are millions of children in foster care and the amount that end up with mental trauma experience homelessness is truly sad. ) Even if she were to divorce him and give him the child she'd still be responsible for the child via. Child support .

Unfortunately you couldn't stay with him, he betrayed you in a way that is unforgivable by forcing your pregnancy with fake birth control. You shouldn't feel guilty for hiding the procedure from him, because had he not done this to you, or listened to your words, you wouldn't have had to do this. Good luck in your new life. Edit: I can see that people are a mad with my words. Listen, you guys have different lives, had different experiences, are you saying you condone him forcing a pregnancy? Guilt tripping her with that? I can't approve of her methods she used, but with her current predicament, what other options did she have other than that? Then if they object to a woman's right to choose and wants to have equal say, they can choose to continue the pregnancy themselves. See how many men would step up if their own body was on the line.

Me and my ex worked together at a restaurant. He knows how shy and private i am. For some reason he shouted at me to snatch and pull out my BC and your going to do it right away in front of coworkers and guest. I was so embarrassed i could feel blood draining from my body. This bad man didnt like that i couldnt get pregnant, he knew its like a 99.9 percent chance. Few months went by and i finally got strong, got the strength to leave him. He did everything in his power to "get me to come crawling back to him. Hes called the CPS, the CDC, the cops, multiple times, i needed benefits due to him not paying child support and he got a job working at DHS just so benefits did not load every month for me and his own son. Mostly some stuff changed when i moved out of the state. Its a heartbreaking thing to go through. Please my sisters stay on your BC no matter how much he begs and whispers sweet nothings in your ear.

OP is a little bit the AH, but the husband is by far the biggest. He tampered with her BC to baby trap her, told all his family to put pressure on her, invited her to his job and tore her down in front of his colleagues, and was about to hit her until someone stopped him. He's clearly a manipulative and abusive person that side of him was only going to come out more the longer they were married. They clearly made an agreement to wait a few years to have kids and he broke that soon after by tampering with her pills. He should've just found a woman who wanted kids immediately instead of marrying someone who wanted a different timeline. The OP was a little bit the AH for lying about the abortion and not considering alternatives like adoption. Especially since she was unaware of the tampering with the pills at the time. I mean the husband talked about all the families who want kids and cant have them, so she shouldve gave those words right back to him by offering adoption. However, she was actively taking precautions and likely wouldn't have even gotten pregnant without his tampering. She also was honest about wanting to wait to have kids. Holding her as accountable in that situation is like holding a falsely convicted guy fully accountable for something that happened as a result of being in prison. It would've never happened if the husband didnt manipulate the situation against her will. And for the record I don't support abortion. But I'm also someone who is mature in thought who is able to have a nuanced view of siruations instead of making 1 issue the determination for everything. People sound dumb who are overlooking all the lying, manipulative, abusive, and controlling behaviors of the husband to ONLY focus on the abortion.

If it did, they would've delivered it, and when it continued to breathe on its own, it would've been a living person that could be adopted rather than discarded. Whatever her motivation to discontinue her pregnancy is not your concern. Only comment to share your own experience when you get pregnant and decide to continue your own pregnancy - tell everyone ALL about it. I submit that you have less than zero legs to stand on in the moral department. I’ve heard fetus, clump of cells but never have I heard “product of conception”. What would that be exactly? Could it possibly be…. A baby? No it can’t be a baby, cause that would prove my point. No one has ever gotten a baby from conception. @@Danarchy3 I never said I advocated anything, and I am not pro-abortion. I have the intelligence to recognize that what happens in other people's wombs are not social issues - that's the problem that people who use your rhetoric fail to see. It's a medical issue - and just like any other, it's not your business because someone made a choice to proceed with a medical procedure regardless of their reason. If your own kid needed a kidney, you would never be obligated to give yours up, and if your kid died because you didn't want to, no one would be using words like KILLED or MURDERED. You don't have to use your body to support any other person, but you expect someone else to do it over some misguided and sanctimonious rhetoric. Most people who echo your sentiments really don't care about "innocent" lives. You likely aren't funding research to combat spontaneous abortions... i.e. miscarriages; if the loss of innocent lives were your real concern, you'd be on the front lines advocating and lobbying for research to preserve all pregnancies and prevent miscarriages. You really don't care, you just virtue signal. Shameful.
@Danarchy3
@Danarchy3 4 ай бұрын
@@thehigherevolutionary your analogy about the kidney is counter productive to your argument. In the kidney example my child would die from lack of medical intervention. If OP would have a lack of an abortion (which in your words is merely a medical procedure) the baby would grow, be born and have a life. So you kinda stepped all over your point with that one. And I don’t expect anyone to do anything but take responsibility for their actions. If you don’t want kids keep your legs closed. If you get pregnant there are other options besides murder. Again using your kidney argument, the only way it can be compared to pregnancy is if my child needs a kidney due to my actions. You cannot get pregnant if you are not sexually active, you can however need a kidney through no fault of your own. So to compare apples to apples, if I forced my son drink until his organs began to fail then it would be my actions that led to his situation and I would be responsible. Likewise if the mother is sexually active it is her actions that led to her condition and therefore she needs to step up and be responsible, not murder her child because she doesn’t want the responsibility.

@@Danarchy3 Interesting, how you "missed" the point. The point was about being socially compelled to use your own body to support an "innocent life." Just how you dodged commenting on your efforts to support research in preventing wanted pregnancies from resulting in miscarriage or how many innocent babies you've opened your doors to. Most doctors do? My doctor did when I was pregnant with my daughter.

@@jayjaytaylor565 I myself and nobody I know ever in the place where I am have ever had this happen. If you're going to go to the doctor for the test you pee in the cup and you hand it to this nurse that they have their for walk-ins. That is fascinating to me. Do they charge you a big old doctor's visit for walking in and then handing you a test you could have gotten it at walgreens? How does this work
