@Stephen_Hendrie Right but that's only important when things are just stories. Experiences are not stories to the person talking about them. People don't add flavor to a negative experience that has just happened to them because they don't care about keeping people invested, they just need to vent about it. When you are telling someone about the night you found out your girlfriend was cheating on you, do you write about "the crisp air surrounding you"? No, you couldn't care less about the reader/listener being invested, you only care about the hurt you feel and the need to get it out.

@@thewheelsman29 You'd need to be somewhat mentally immature to not be able to correctly handle a situation where she's cheating or believe that people type things on Reddit for anything other than getting those little badges of validation, (like gold and silver and what not) and not be able to notice red flags, which there will most likely be, and if she really is that good at hiding it, then you'll never know, but if you find out something like that happened, then just kick her out (or leave if it's her place) when you find out and find another woman, a better one this time, hopefully 😂😂

The fact that the OP kept hesitating about his mother and whatever she became shows a part of this story was never told. I'm surprised that when Caroline called he didn't say she's just like his mother. And I'm surprised the exes sister didn't reach out to give her own justification to things. But when people write letters every one will always be curious but he did the right thing after reading the first line.
