After Watching Dylan Raiola Up Close, Adam Carriker Talks About Just How Good Dylan Can Be!

Ай бұрын

After watching Dylan Raiola up close in practice, Adam discusses just how high Dylan's ceiling is, what Nebraska fans might expect this year and Adam uses audio as well as video clips to explain why. This isn't your typical off-season Husker Kool-Aid, (even though Raiola was very impressive), there were pluses and some minuses. Also, well find out which player may be way more important than people realize!

It’s tough because it’s very easy to see why Dylan was so highly recruited, at the same time, he could technically still be in high school right now. He definitely appears to be ahead of the curve. Are you all excited for football yet?!

I believe that Kaelin should not be overlooked, period. He's stuck around and shown loyalty which is rare in today's sports climate. We've, literally, never had two quality QBs at the helm who are freshmen on the same squad that I can remember. Haarberg is also a loyal man as well. These qualities cannot be overlooked. Were I the coaches, I would utilize their strengths as a three fer, instead of a one/two QB system. Then you're not burning redshirts. GBR !

Yea but I'm sure coach Rhule will know who's really ready to go come this fall. It's more than just playing football as you sound like a football guy so I know you know this. If they can't get the mental part down then all that talent is useless.

I think, when it comes to the qb position. We kinda know what we have with Haarberg. Talented but not high end talent. I think he'll be used situationally and should because he's earned it. But out of the first few games it would be a show in elevation in talent if both Raiola and Daniel had the chance to play before conference play. Mich like 90s nebradka. You'd hope who ever is starting is pulled second half because we're up by enough to get the others playing time and show what is there for the future.

I like his stature........solid. I like his demeanor........cool. I think he is safe for a few years at NU and will be injury free. He knows when to get rid of the ball. The only question is will those receivers get open for him.....but even more important, can they get a RB that move the ball. RB is the biggest talent deficiency at running back U (or is it tailback U) for YEARS! And we didn't get a single recruit this year.....and every RB on our roster has a bum knee or fumblitis or some other problem. Until they fix that it's good night gracie.

Running QB's haven't done the trick for quite a few years, Raiola has touch on his throws when needed. His throws are the best I have seen of any QB who has played at NU. He is not a runner but he does move around in the pocket if necessary and also keeps his eyes downfield at all times. Go back and watch the re-runs of Nebraska QB's last year and then watch this springs game again. Raiola is for real, yea any freshmen has some things to learn, but he has less to learn then a lot of starters in the Big Ten. I was a wide out in college some years back, this kid is good. Put Harberg in some situational situations along with Raiola is my guess. I don't think Kaelin will redshirt.

1. Yes, 2. Yes, But concerned how Sims' issues could have gone unnoticed in practice in terms of his strong tendency to commit unforced errors. Whoever it was that decided to start him in the first two games last year exhibited exceedingly poor judgment. That person is presumably still somewhere on the coaching staff(?) and God forbid they are making any decisions about who starts this year. Also concerned that an 18-year old is "swapping protections". I don't even know what that means - but it sounds like it means that a coach somewhere had it wrong and it had to be corrected on the spot during a scrimmage by a high-school kid? I have reason to be hopeful, but there is a disaster scenario lurking out there where the wunderkind gets frustrated and hits the transfer portal in 2025. I hope that doesn't happen!!
