No one else seems to have mentioned this in the comments so I will- it's obvious that you guys are doing the same arrangement as Frank Sinatra on the Quincy Jones record, and that was George Benson himself who played guitar on this track! So kudos to you my friend for putting in the effort trying to rip that intro like that he does! That's hard stuff. George Benson is my hero and I love seeing people transcribe his genius. Also… I see you've got that wound third string 😉 as it should be.
@maxhuddart Жыл бұрын
Yeah that was solid to transcribe. George Bensons a legend! And yes flat wounds with wound g string as jazz guitars should be!

It uses complex resources and harmonic and rhythmic structures much more complex than the rest of the music, jazz is the opposite of pop in every way possible, and pop is the genre that we all know the most and the one that our ears are used to hear, so hearing something new and special as Jazz is like discovering a new dish that tastes like something you've never tasted before.

I don’t think anyone knows how difficult this chart is to properly pull off for guitar. especially at this tempo this is a true standard and has had some greats play this like Django Reinhardt who pioneered this peice at the tempo they’re playing. this guy absolutely did it justice Jesus Christ .currently trying to learn the chart and I’ve already cursed at my guitar more times than notes played in the intro solo😭

sounds great man. One thing I would suggest, which has nothing with the actual playing since it's GREAT, is just to buy a boost or volume pedal for your solo so you don't have to worry about volume and tone knob. Your high notes were lost a bit quite and your solo was overall probably quite for audience
