Finally, someone took the time to explain what this thing actually does.

Thanks for taking the time to show this, looks amazing for van life, no doubt too expensive for casual use.

You'd be surprised! The "Basic" version shown here works out at about £72 including shipping (currently listed at $119 Australian on the website with another $15 for shipping direct from the US). Afterburner is designed and manufactured by Ray Jones in Australia.

If it was designed and manufactured by Ray Jones in Australia, why is it being shipped direct from the U.S?

@@mickgatz214 I suspect it was just a typo and he meant to say "direct TO the US"

Yeah, my espar motor has failed and I have decided I can buy a ton of these Chinese heaters for what these German heaters cost. I do miss the thermostat control. I am on the waiting list for an afterburner.

I wouldn’t write off your Espar yet. The hood part about those is they’re very easily serviced and parts are fairly inexpensive. With some service those should the life of a vehicle.

The dude makes it really hard to buy these controllers. He open sourced the code, and there is a Scottish company that sells their own version based on the open source software, or at least a fork of it. I believe its called Ignite. But imo its a little too expensive, more than the heater itself!

I will be doing a video soon of a new company Burek that sent me a new controller to try for these heaters. Might be an awesome solution. bureck.company.site/

wish I could know for sure which burner to buy that works with this. The manual you linked says to check the heater circuits.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a factory Vevor heater controller? So far 4 amazon ones have not worked, and Vevor only sells complete kits.

Can you help me out? Got mine in and it works. But it doesn’t shut down when it hits target temp. Shouldn’t it stop and kick back on like a real thermostat?

Dig into the manual. It has multiple operating modes. Ours came as yours is now. It would roast us out. Once we changed it, we were very happy with it.

Even at $154Aud for the Full Featured Version I have, I consider it a Bargain. If there's any Issues, the Support available is Superb. What's missed in this Video is the Ease of Use available with use of either the BlueTooth App, of the inbuilt Web Server. The Web Server's a no brainer; just connect to the devices AP with your phone & open the Webpage. You get all data & controls on well laid out Screens. Timer Functions too. Mines been running over 4 years now & consumed well over 500 litres, and is even integrated into my Home Automation Via MQTT. Would not touch the Ripped off Copies with a Barge Pole.

Anyone got a AliExpress/Banggood link to a compatible 5/8kW version?

I’m interested in the eberspacher fuel pump, would you mind telling me which exact pump you have, I have a 5Kw CDH.

I can’t be 100% sure but if I recall I think this was the one. amzn.to/46oUfkQ The main thing that helps with the installs is the correct diameter fuel line. The cheap Chinese lines are usually too big. Also when installing the hose into the rubber hose fittings make sure they’re pushed all the way in. Hope that helps!

Is it any benefits regarding fuel consumption?
@RoamOverlandVehicles Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure. One benefit is I can pull the fuel consumption data and run time data from the afterburner which I couldn’t do on some of the other heater controllers.

Am I right in saying that you are unable operate this afterburner with an Apple device ?

Isn't there a web interface?
@mickgatz21410 ай бұрын
Y'know, sometimes I think, and it seems China has very good technology even if they're restricted from the latest chip tech...then some Aussie makes it perform even more efficiently! (share tech,, no need to 'steal' it) 👍

Which heater should I buy that is compatible?
