Aftermarket Cold Air Intake Install

Hey guys! Today I installed the Cosmo Racing Cold Air Intake on my 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5i. The install was overall relatively easy, with only a few minor complications. First I'd like to say that I am obviously in no way sponsored by Cosmo Racing (though I wish I was haha) but they did a fantastic job with packaging the product and assisting me with everything very quickly. Huge props to them for all there help and I would definitely recommend them to everybody looking for certain car parts. If you have any further questions regarding the install, leave them in the comments and I will try to get to responding to them. Any and all critiques on filming and editing is welcomed as I am very new to this sort of thing. I really enjoyed creating this kind of content and am planning to do it again in the future. Get an K&N if you havnt ordered that junk already it’s worth the extra time of making it fit (when you order get the one for the 04 Impreza and just cut it at the corner and turn the piece 90 degrees get a coupler and it will look a lot nicer I can send a pic if you need a visual

Not sure if you'll see this since this was back in Feb. but you never mentioned what you ended up doing with that extra hose/plug that went into the bottom front of the box that connects to the throttle body. I can see the other two hoses but not that one.

You've got no draw vent, what's the point other than sound?

i drilled a bunch of holes into the fake vent in the lower corner of the bumper which led straight to the intake filter. either way there was no point other than looks and sound lol. this intake likely only led to a 2hp gain and a loss of low end torque.

Hey! What did you do to the vacuum hose on the left side of the throttle body? Just block it off? Because i had a p0171 and i doubt it's that hose that cause the problem

i know it’s probably a little too late but it really didnt do much. it sounded sick but not much power gains.

Two questions does it mess with your sensors and also how often do you have to change the air filter? One more question, is it worth it?

i dont have this car anymore so ill go off of memory lol. as far as i remember, it didnt mess with my sensors or throw a check engine code so you should be good there. the oil filter you dont have to change if you just maintenance it with that recharge kit that i talked about in the video. clean and re oil the filter every time you do an oil change and you should be fine. it being worth it is all up to opinion. this car was already slow and so i didnt care about the minuscule power or torque that the intake had an impact on. for me, it just looked a hell of a lot cooler than the oem airbox and definitely sounded cooler too.

i made my own cold air intake kit , 2006 impreza non turbo, it runs like shit wont go over 3.5k in overdrive??? i think i need to adjust where my sensor is @ any other ideas???

sounds like it could be some sort of air leak, bad sensor or bad sensor position, or you need a tune. never had any problems like that on the legacy. good luck man

honestly not entirely sure. pretty sure the website i got it off of had a list of cars it fits. if your engine bay looks the same, it probably will.
