We go so much rain from Beryl in central-east Texas. We were right in the line of Beryl. Glad it sped up and didn't hang around. One full day of that was definitely enough! Thanks David! God bless you !

It was so hot the days following Alicia and Ike, it was hot yesterday but quite tolerable. I should be outside to continue piling up branches, picking up shingles, raking, and sweeping but I chose to watch David.

We lived in the Pine Woods Northwest of Houston when Alicia hit. She was still a CAT1 when she hit us. We were without power in the middle of August for 2 weeks. I had to cook on a camp stove and I had no transportation with 3 boys and a baby. My husband was working 24/7 with the Road and bridge crew to remove fallen trees from the roadways and other repairs. We had no phone service and that was before cell phones. I had only AM radio to rely upon to find out what was happening… and what neighbors found out. It was hot and sweltering. No services available out there in the woods. My family finally made it out after 3 days to bring water and ice. What a difference between today and 1983.

I drove thru several small towns in NE TX yesterday...noticed many traffic lights not functioning. I accidently barrelled thru the first one, as my mind was wandering & I didn't "see" it. I slammed on the brakes midway thru it. Fortunately, nothing was crossing.

Power Restored to Anderson and areas around here. Power was still out in Magnolia, TX yesterday. My friends in Spring, Tx were still without power yesterday.

Melissa in Angleton " A Hurricane Survivor" ,she along with so many others are enduring the brutal heat,with no electricity!!! She needs a camper with air conditioning!!!
