Afternoon SUP from Middle Brighton Beach to Elwood

Looking for a more sheltered spot to paddle on Port Phillip Bay? In this video I do an afternoon stand up paddle at Middle Brighton Beach, on Port Phillip Bay, approximately 14 km from Melbourne CBD along Beach Road. There is a dog friendly beach nearby, located at the bottom of North Road, off Beach Road.
This is a good spot for beginner paddle boarders, whilst the more experienced have access to plenty of open water once clear of the Marina area.
About Us:
We’ve been using our stand up paddleboards for just over a year now and we are totally addicted! In this channel we share with you our journey as we explore all the different places to paddle here in Melbourne, Victoria and the wider area (when we hit the road). We also aim to answer all the questions we have had as beginners to the world of stand up paddling.

Launch Location Location:
This beach is located on Beach Road (The Esplanade) adjacent to the Royal Brighton Yacht Club. The cafe and dog park here can get quite busy on the weekends, so parking is sometimes difficult to find. The dog beach is an off leash area for dogs, so keep that in mind. The entry point we used here was right next to the Baths (on the City side) and the tide was out, so it was quite shallow in parts, especially nearer to the dog beach. There are a lot of boats here but it was quiet when I did this afternoon weekday paddle. Coasting SUP delivers lessons here some Fridays and weekends (www.coastingsup.com/about).
