The Pennsylvania Railroad and the Reading Company were once bitter rivals in their heyday.
@Thunderbolt_1000_Siren3 жыл бұрын
Their duel continued in the 60s when PRR became PC but Reading kept their identity. However neither side came out victorious when PC went bankrupt in 76 and Reading was drafted into creating CR with the former NE roads bringing PC's remnants with them.

@@Thunderbolt_1000_Siren PC went bankrupt in 70, not 76.
@Thunderbolt_1000_Siren3 жыл бұрын
@@Ih8kone Somewhat but no. "Although the PC was put into bankruptcy, its parent Penn Central Company was able to survive" The company held on but Hurricane Agnes was a huge blow (literally) in 1972. The government couldn't save them and then Conrail slurped em up in 76. Almost all of their passenger service including the NEC and Keystone also fell into Amtrak's hands in 71.
