Lee spent the entire podcast arguing the exact same statement you have done. "WE did not play well." "WE had no real creativity." WE represents the entire team. WE is not Gabriel Martinelli. That was the point Lee made the entire time. That is not clutching if you believe what you have said.

I’m with Jordan on the martinelli debate. His performances can be summed up in four words every game: works hard, lacks quality. If Arsenal are serious they will replace him at the next available opportunity

45 high crosses against an Italian side playing a back 5 system. 😂 Absolute madness. Mikel needs to go back to how he had us playing in the first half of the 22-23 season. We are so slow in transition now. And all this talk of “work rate”. It needs to stop. Mikel needs to let the handbrake off and let his attackers actually attack. We will never win a title playing like this and our fan base has to stop making excuses. All we’re doing is driving our players into the ground in the name of defensive “work rate”. Shocking.
@ghostoftheyoutubefuture26302 ай бұрын
To play like that again he would have to use Jesus instead of Havertz, Zinchenko instead of Timber & somehow get to use Merino in a similar way to Granite Xhaka but the fanbase don't want any of those players near the starting 11 because frankly, they know better.......
@chrisfraser50882 ай бұрын
@@ghostoftheyoutubefuture2630 that’s simply not true. We don’t need Jesus. Havertz is actually at his best when you give him a free role as a final third link player in quick transition. (Go back and watch how he played for Leverkusen.) One the issues we currently have is that we’re sitting back a lot more and moving so slow in transition. Havertz is practically useless in that kind of system. Funny thing is, he’d actually fit better into the 22-23 season system as opposed to last season or this season. And why do you think we need Zinny on the pitch simply to play quicker in transition? It’s not a difficult concept. Keep your front three slightly higher up the pitch and get the ball to one of them as quickly as you can, every opportunity you have. Lots of teams do it. It’s time to go for it.
@ghostoftheyoutubefuture26302 ай бұрын
@@chrisfraser5088 I couldn't care less about what this tapped fanbase think (because it sounds like they've got in your head too), Jesus was our front man in 22/23 & we were a much better attacking team back then. FACTS. His link up play with the 2 wingers was a lot better than Havertz not to mention quicker. The Leverkusen Havertz has been gone for years now, just ask the Chelsea fans! Making excuses, going back on your word & talking a load of "what ifs"to protect one of your favourites is only making us worse. Havertz & his lack of mobility is the reason we're so bad in transition now. He offers us more in the air & IF he finds space he can maybe score a tap-in. Outside of this he is useless & wouldn't fit in that 22/23 team imo but that's all conjecture, one thing that me & you both agree on is our attack was better in 22/23 with Jesus up front.... As for Zinchenko, as much as the fanbase detest him (I couldn't care less what they think), he is better going forward than Timber as much as I love Timber defensively. He has a much better through ball than anything in Timber's locker which played a major part in our approach play but once again the fans will overlook this because he don't win any silly popularity contests smh. This fanbase deserve everything they're getting for their short memories & lack of gratitude.
@chrisfraser50882 ай бұрын
@@ghostoftheyoutubefuture2630 I think you misunderstood me. I agree that we were better with Jesus as opposed to Havertz. (I would never have signed Havertz, paying 65 mil for a player whose been out of form for three years is a sackable offence imo) And I also agree that Zinny is better than Timber going forward. My overall point is that, the problem is the system (and tactics) as much as it is recruitment. Mikel’s tactics are absolutely whack. We’ve gone from trying to control possession, while transitioning quickly (22-23), to trying to control all phases of the game (23-24), to this season…we basically sit back, invite pressure and defend. It doesn’t matter who we have up top or at LB if the tactics are poor. Sorry if I didn’t explain that well enough. I think we’re more or less saying the same thing just in a different way?

Lfc fan. I do think Arsenal fans are a tad delusional thinking they should be winning the title because you came close last two years. Other teams aren’t sitting still and are just going to roll over. Liverpool and City both have teams that have won the big trophies with bigger and stronger squads. You also need to remember where you were when he took over. You were a joke club, nowhere near challenging and you’ve come a long way under him. He spent a lot of money, but he’s had to completely rebuild the team and its still a WIP. Not saying you can’t be critical, but some saying he should go are crazy in my opinion.

You make a good point. I love ben white but he is a CENTRE BACK that just happens to be talented enough that we play him at right back now. I would absolutely kill to have PSG’s fullbacks. Imagine we had mendes and hakimi in this team, some much needed attacking threat. All our fullbacks have no legs and creativity compared to them, we play 4 centre backs.
