This doc seems like a nice guy, with years of experience. But he said one thing that really sticks out for me. He said, "Property of the club." This is unfortunately not always in the best interest of the players. It is, therefore, the responsibility of the players to make sure that they are fit and healthy before they play. They (the players) need to stop trusting the medical teams within the club so easily because they, like the players, always want to get back as quickly as possible, which always leads to more issues.
@mightyman240419 күн бұрын
The best comment.
@muzyblue18 күн бұрын
I think you got his “property of the club” comment in the wrong context. If for instance an injured player wants to get back playing early because it’s what he loves doing, or doesn’t want to loose his spot on the team etc, the good Doc has to remember that this person is an asset of the club which might have paid 100 million pounds for him (Rice) so rather than think of the immediate interests of the player alone he has a responsibility to protect the vital asset of the club and only let him play when he is sure he won’t make things worse leading to more days on the treatment table and thereby the club missing out on the services of one of its assets or “property”
@MF-dl3rs18 күн бұрын
@muzyblue nothing was taken out of context at all😂. The comment was spot on. Playing with a broken any body part is not good. The doctor said it's no big deal. I guess they love of money and fame will make people do anything, even destroying their bodies. Fans will call a player weak when he gets injured. The leagues increase the number of games to line their pockets while the players beat their bodies to crap with no real time to heal and recover. Vicious cycle.

Question for Dr Andre next time: A lot of fans say if a player is fit enough to come off the bench then he's fit enough to play the whole game. Is this true or are players sometimes only able to play a certain number of minutes safely?
@1987simple198719 күн бұрын
Its a risk of injury factor. The more minutes a player plays the more risk of a recurrence or injury caused by compensation. Pplayers often need to play less than 90 minutes before returning just to make sure there is no reaction to the injury. There are two reasons a players comes off the bench when unable to play 90. The first is the most common, players are eased in a bit and need to see how the injury heals after a bit of football. The second reason is the lesser reason but the one we seem to all believe is always the case and that is risking a player before they are ready. This will usually only happen with important players in big games or during huge injury crisis.

Lfc fan. Feel bad for Saka. It could seriously hamper Arsenals chances in the title race. It will be interesting to see how Arteta sets the team up moving forwards. Won’t be easy considering how many goals come through Saka. Who can replace him on the RW? Wish Saka a speedy recovery, but Arteta needs to make sure he doesn’t rush him. It will take Saka a long time to fully trust it not going again. Look what happened to Owen. He was never the same again and had to change his game drastically.

I'm gonna say this right now and it's a crazy take but Saka's absence won't impact the team as much as you think. Arsenal will do fine without him and we will see it in the next few weeks. Other players will step up
@o.f.m826519 күн бұрын
@@moal-shael7580I agree I think that because everything goes through Saka by artetas plan, everything will have to change and we will be less predictable.
@abovebeyondkct658919 күн бұрын
Arteta has kinda already screwed himself twofold here: he’s overplayed Saka into this injury, and he’s left the squad so desperately short…there were only 6 1st team forwards to start the season…with Saka and Sterling both injured for weeks at least, that leave just 4 for 3 positions in every match in every competition. That is not sustainable. Whether it’s more injuries or dropped points or trophies lost, it will happen much sooner than later because it’s just not feasible for only have 4 players for LW, RW, ST. So unless they sign at the very least one starting calibre forward, and honestly should be two, Arsenal will drop off and it won’t be surprising. It’s what many of us fans have been saying since the transfer window. And it does literally all come down to one man’s choices.

A lot on Saka injury and blame game as if they just havent heard the Dr. speak of how sometimes it can be down to the player insisting they want to play.. that is to say, there's a lot that goes into a player playing .. playing through pain or discomfort.. and sometimes .. players are human like us .. we might not accurately communicate the discomfort for the doctor or even team physio to effectively evaluate The question here would be to Dr Andre .. what happens when the medical team & doctor suspect an injury or potential injury but a player insists they are ok and even still produce on the pitch? Can the doctor insist removal of the player or is that down to politics again? This excluding cases of concussion and the like of course
@zohaibchaudhri3 күн бұрын
The medical staff assess each player's condition before the game and SUGGEST if the player play or not. If then the manager wants to take the risk then that's up to them.

Question for the Dr, do football clubs use PEMF - Pulsed Electro Magnetic Therapy, as they do on race horses? stats show it speeds up the tissue repair and recovery from bone and soft tissue injuries, and P.S Arsenal medical team please look into this, hopefully they know about this technology already 🙂 (Ref- Complete Guide To PEMF Therapy for Horses, Equine PEMF & Benefits of PEMF for Horses). PEMF is becoming more widely known by many doctors now and I feel this would significantly impact the players. I would be so happy to know if Arsenal have this protocol.

@1987simple198719 күн бұрын
The minutes he has played are overblown. In this calendar year 4 Arsenal players have played more minutes in all competitions than Saka. The best players play every game they can from a young age and thats part of what makes them the players they are. Saka comes off often in games and is left out of a lot of cup games. He brings these questions on the club because when things are not going well he limps about.
