Liverpool fan here. Think Arsenal deserved the 3 points. They put in a hell of a fight and Raya was immense. I am tired of these referees taking all the head lines for all the wrong reasons. There is corruption outside of the field (115 charges) and there is terrible decisions on the field. The game simply deserves better. The players are of highest standard, why is it not mandatory that the refs should be the same. Every season the referees are not up to their task.

This stinks of the same thing that happened to Van Persie at the Nou Camp. If he did hit it away, the crowd was roaring after the foul Trossard committed, and no more than 1 second after Oliver blew his whistle Trossard kicked it away. To be clear, the PGMOL has officially stated that the sending off was for 'delaying the restart' i.e. not the foul. Either way, if he got a yellow for the foul, then where was Haaland's yellow for clattering into Saliba with force in the first few minutes? Where was Doku's yellow for 'delaying the restart' in the first half? The bottom line is, had the exact same thing happened, but it was City player, there would have been no booking. There is no doubt in my mind about it. Well done to the boys for withstanding the siege and keeping the point. Shame we couldn't hold out for the win, but it was an excellent defensive display. We move!

I'm tired of hearing the word "inconsistent" all the time. Football is a business where the flow of money involves such large sums that the human brain can't comprehend the scale of it. In a market with such vast amounts of money, corruption is unavoidable. People who refuse to acknowledge that this is due to corruption are living in a naive worldview. As soon as you admit to yourself that football is corrupt, it becomes much more enjoyable to watch. The only thing you can do is take it all with a smile when the big clubs "coincidentally" start getting favorable referee decisions when they are in a tight spot.

As much as Robbie makes a fair point about the glaring inconsistency of Referees in The Premier League with regards taking action against time wasting....I'm sorry but Trossard ultimately only really has himself to blame for giving Michael Oliver the opportunity to send him off, and thus it was Trossard who has cost us a Landmark victory today....one which would have given us a priceless psychological edge over City, and signalled - not only to them - but The Football World that we are ready to end their Reign as Champions!! As much as I had much sympathy for what happened to Rice the other week.....on this latest occasion I can't say that I have any for Trossard - whose brainless action could well result in his banishment from the team as punishment.....irrespective of the impression (of him being "desperately unlucky" which Arteta tried to convey on Television!!) If we go on to lose The Title by 1 point at the end of this season, then it will most likely be this moment of madness which dearly cost us!!?? 😙😙
