Just stumbled upon your site and vids on Squad leader which are very interesting to me as I used to play this game and other AH games such as Luftwaffe , Anzio , Magic Realm , panzer blitz etc around 1983 and along with a friend we really enjoyed these tabletop games as they had Such detail and realism + playerbility . Shame I didn’t know about your vids during lockdown as it would have got me through that whole thing more easily especially having dug out my original Squad leader game and purchased cross of iron and crescendo of doom from eBay but found I couldn’t remember a thing about how to play . Anyway thanks for having this up on line it whets the appetite to get playing again now winter is here in Derbyshire ( Great Britain )

i sold my squad leader set 20 years ago. and now because of ebay i have two complete sets (one unpunched) plus a bonus of maybe an additional 2 each of 1-15 maps and a shit pot load of germans, russians and Gi's (a battalion each??) sorting these counters and using about 20 counter trays has been a major chore.

David, in scenario 4 (Hedghog of Piepsk) artillery comes into play. A small video explanation of how to use and manage? Hope I am not being a nuisance.

Do you suggest Squad Leader or Advanced? I played both years ago but honestly never really grasped a lot of the ASL rules regarding artillery and vehicles. I am really glad I found your videos, I have been watching them one per day and learning a lot.

Thing is almost everyone is playing ASL nowadays. It will be easier to find ASL opponents. I personnally prefer SL which is simpler in its basis version but it gets more complicated with later gamettes. Beginners are now oriented towards ASL Starter kits which may be the preferrable option before moving to full ASL if you become really serious about it.

Shouldn't tanks be CE to use 0,5 MP road cost? Also, you can't change VCA wo paying for first entering? Also, what about motion/stop status? Oh it's not ASL

These games are far too hard for me to learn properly....too many rules and too much math. I'd really like to buy some boxes but I know in a few weeks they'll end up in the garage collecting dust because I can't understand the rules
