Investing in hedge funds by yourself can be risky due to their complex strategies, high fees, and potential for significant losses. Without expert knowledge, it's challenging to fully assess the risks and returns, making professional guidance crucial.

Hedge funds can be tricky to navigate without deep financial expertise. The complex strategies and high fees involved mean that the risks can be substantial, and it’s hard to fully grasp these without experience. Professional guidance is key to making informed decisions and avoiding potential pitfalls.

These are extremely useful rules for anyone looking to grow rich. Unfortunately, the majority of individuals that see this video will be unable to implement the ideas. We may not like to acknowledge it, but as Warren Buffett famously stated, investing is like any other profession: it takes a certain amount of knowledge. It's no surprise that some people are losing a lot of money during the bear market, while others are profiting by hundreds of thousands. I'm just not sure how they do it. I now have around $570k to invest in the market.

Understanding personal finances and investing will most likely result in increased financial freedom. Individuals who understand money and investing may make sound judgments about how to save, spend, and invest their money. I know someone who made more than $350,000 in this recession-influenced market, but to the best of my knowledge, it was done through a financial advisor.

A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. A contract entered into or asset held as a protection against possible financial loss. The idea came from - if a owner only owned one ship - and if that one ship sank - that owner would lose everything. To solve this winner takes all, you hedge your bet. To an average of zero. So communist works better. With some investments losing and some investments winning. You save from losing. Equal to save from winning. Insider trading is where you make sure you only invest in the winning. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3fCfGWQmtWJZ6cfeature=shared

#FBI Getting this math at the bank backwards is criminal. One cannot bet on all the horses in a horse race. a contract entered into or asset held as a protection against possible financial loss. In modern banking. Someone borrowing money is issued a credit score. To pay for their own risks. Insider trading is where one only bets on the winning. And rewarding savers is punishing the borrowers. And no means no. Tax the rich is this saying no to punishing the borrowers. In a for-profit banking system. Tax the rich is wanting a not for profit banking system, with no punishment for borrowing.

Love this 2-minute series! They really teach you way more than a long 300-page book in an easier way! So basically the difference between a Hedge Fund and a Private Equity Fund is that Hedge Funds pool leveraged money and then invest it into their projects which could result in higher risk but also a higher ROI (if things go right of course...) compared to Private Equity because Private Equity Funds pool money from investors, making investors be a part of the project itself and making money off of the project itself meanwhile in a Hedge Fund the investors are just basically lending the money to the fund and making their return via the pay off of the money they borrowed to the Hedge Fund. Am I correct?

Could you explain exactly how the wallstreetbets thing affected the hedge funds?
@vuxone58453 жыл бұрын
All you really need to know is that high-end Wall Street investors were trying to short-sell failing companies like Game stop and AMC, or in other words, profit from their failure, like a gamble, a very risky one indeed. Hedge funds are notorious for this; they control nearly half of the NYSE and LSE. But little did they know that r/wallstreetsbet garnered a Reddit Army and convinced swarms of people to buy GME and AMC stock to drive the prices sky-high, and as a result some hedge funds have lost billions of dollars. Now we have billionaire capitalists crying and politicians rushing to introduce tighter laws to restrict such activity. Some apps even went as far to prevent people from buying GME stock after the price surged through the roof. Sore losers! When amateur teenagers do it, it's "market manipulation", but when Wall Street does it, it's called "investment strategy". It just shows their double standards; they're only really mad because they were beat at their own game. Though, the reality is, hype is economically-speaking unsustainable and won't last, although on the bright side, the recent events have showed us the power of social media and how swarms of middle-class people can have a strong impact on the stock market.

@campinatorxbox16103 жыл бұрын
@@vuxone5845 Thank you you're very good at explaining things.
@vuxone58453 жыл бұрын
@@alexjdm2422, some apps have already put restrictions on buying GME and AMC stock, e.g. Robin Hood blocked retail investors from purchasing Reddit-hyped stock while hedge funds can freely trade the stock they see as fit. AOC and some economists have called it out, but unfortunately much of the US government is largely and deeply tied to the Wall Street elite, so prominent investors and hedge funds simply have more political backing and more power to protect themselves even when they make rather conservatively authoritarian and unfair moves. In fact, stock-trading platforms can legally put even MORE restrictive regulations (such as block entire stocks, or even remove them in some cases) as there is no specific law that prohibits them from making a move during such abnormal surges in the market, but if they were to get too restrictive, they would violate what a free market and economy stands for, and hence receive public backlash and media critique which would go against their financial and public-image interests. So it's highly unlikely the trading platforms would take a step further than the current restriction of buying the Reddit-hyped up stock. They won't get more strict than that. They can't. Though, if events like these repeat and become the normality, then the US government will put more regulations to protect the financial interests of the upper-class. Business shouldn't be so intertwined with politics, but that's sort of the way it's always been, everywhere.

Hedge funds don't necessarily take on huge risk... many have sub 15% annualised vol, could be a better way to explain to describe their strategies as absolute return strategies. I make good income too from bitcoin trading and its been my most reliable source of income at the moment. With profits I've made so far I don't think i can get broke or lack anything.

Also would be good to add that hedge funds are working behind the close doors, meaning they are never going public, have severe confidentiality terms, when on the other hand AM firms are mostly more transparent and willing to share their goals and strategies with potentially new clientele.
