Kudos to you and your family for being willing to try new technology, learn new things and approaches. Your channel has helped me understand that the tough farming business requires you look for any advantages you can. thanks again for your work

hey Ryan, im from Germany, its so interesting how north american farms work, and thank for detail explaining for example in the video how to oprate with the NewHolland Mega Cutter, and its nice to see the big different between normal german farms and "yours", thank so much for your nice work in your videos :)

I'm not a farmer but I think this system would more than pay for itself fairly quickly. The reduced input costs of going to a variable rate fertilizer plan and increased yield potential sounds pretty exciting.

Would you all like the same corn head for spare parts or to use it. it has been sitting in our machine shed since 2013. We replaced all of the gathering chains and I think some of the sprockets. Last ran on a 9400 John Deere

You had to punch him to get agreement to film the process, that I call dedication and care about viewers)) Any chances for us to see yield map, or neighbors watching the channel will ruin that possibility? ) Looking forward to see about your actions to improve yield on your fields, using science and high technologies.

4:28 math is simple in that case, it used for pretty long time to calculate rain etc same as here www.enfonic.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/400x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/m/m/mm0256_1.jpg thing on top. It also have ultrasonic wind sensor(those sticks) and that is pretty cool, simple but cool.

***** You are right about something new. Seems like I saw that on Facebook or maybe here. Ryan and Travis are progressive young farmers and Ryan is deeply rooted in technology. I was concerned when they bought the yield monitor for the combine because of the cost and the number of acres they harvest.

Will this technology tell you why a section of a field yielded poorly or will it all be labelled less productive. Such as poor stand, pests, flooded out or operator error.
@HowFarmsWork8 жыл бұрын
+Douglas Laramie It'll just tell us areas that didn't yield as well so we can identify the problems by comparing them to other parts of the field.
@LM-vc4id8 жыл бұрын
how old is the combine?

@evan35618 жыл бұрын
Why didn't you upgrade to a slightly newer combine?
@HowFarmsWork8 жыл бұрын
+Evan Davidson Probably due to the large price difference
@evan35618 жыл бұрын
How Farms Work oh trust me I get that, but if you can get a loan a newer (not new) combine will actually pay off much faster then you think because when I upgraded I realized how much combine loss I was having and just the additional features and comforts helped out and made it nicer to use. But it's all about how much you can get for your old one and what you can afford, I get that!
@evan35618 жыл бұрын
How Farms Work so let's say you replace that combine and your new combine (new to you) makes it so you lose 2 bu/acre less. At 4.50 per acre average x1000 acres that's $9000 a year or $45000 for 5 years. That adds up fast and the more acres you add the larger the pay off. Plus let's say you get a 8 row or a 12 row you are done that much faster and now you can do some custom work and make some more money and keep increasing.

I noticed your installer had a black eye. Wonder if that was from unhappy customer !!! HEHE
@57fitter8 жыл бұрын
That probably came from a wrench slipping off or bouncing the head off a snout on a corn head. There are SO MANY people alive today who don't realize that there are individuals who have to ACTUALLY DO THE WORK. Along with doing the work there are job related accidents that result in cuts, abrasions and contusions such as you see with Andrew.
