0:46 the zen mode on lichess is truly a blessing as you completely avoid any trash talk, any insecurities that comes from rating difference, and you're able to just focus on the game. The only thing you hold accountable with zen mode is yourself.

The way to play against this to maintain an edge is 7. dex5 Nc6 8. Nc3 when white returns the pawn for some initiative in the endgame after 8… Qxe5 9. Qxe5+ Nxe5 10. Nb5. In that endgame white is slightly better with good winning chances

i play the petrof. But more like the stamford gambit. Still this is the first time I was interested in the analysis of the game than the game itself. Interesting how you had checkmate with the bishop capturing the edge pawn, but he didn't. It was not an equal position, besides, you had him on time. I think I would have gone over the bump in the opening, once I accepted queens could be traded, as at some point you did accept it too, and I was galvanized by that. It was an intimidating opening on his part, after all. Also i guess, possibly, a sub-par engine (as they all, that we know of, currently are) is always weary of check-tempo advantages. Perhaps that is the reason it insisted that you take the bishop with the rook , coz the check was available as he did actually play it. For an engine, that can complicate a position easily, that remains an advantage (check to win a tempo) for quite sometime, perhaps.
