Lindores Abbey Chess Stars is a rapid double-round robin tournament featuring World Champion Magnus Carlsen, Former World Champion Vishy Anand, Ding Liren and Sergey Karjakin. The Lindores Abbey Distillery will host the event on 25-26 May, bringing the game of kings back to the abbey after 500 years, with games played overlooking the abbey ruins where no fewer than five monarchs once walked.
The rate of play is 25 minutes per player, with a 10-second increment per move. In the event of a two-player tie for first place there will be a play-off with pairs of 3+2 blitz games played until one of the players wins. If there are three players tied for first place, the two players with the most wins (then the best Sonneborn-Berger) will be seeded directly into the final. If four players tie there will be semifinals. Official website: lindoresabbeydistillery.com

Chess back then was only a gentleman's sport, i.e. rich men, open at the highest level to only those with money to pay tutors. Morphy probably got disillusioned from all the stuffy atmosphere and figured chess was nothing special because of that. Shame he couldn't find meaning in his short life. Chess today is a world sport open to all social classes

Just to let you know as plenty of people get it wrong but if the drink is from Scotland or Japan it's called Whisky with no e. This game serves to prove that it doesn't matter how tough the position is, you can't give up. Agadmator said in the last vídeo "your opponent is not a machine". So to the "BlunderHeads" out there who always look to the engine evaluation and when the players does not play the first option "it is a blunder" without even know why, just stop and try to evaluate the position yourself and maybe you can improve your own games.

Dear agadmator, I suggest you to buy a good bottle of single malt whisky, which unfortunately is a bit expensive, and enjoy it from time to time, besides chess. I assure you that you will soon understand if it's your thing or not. And much congrats for your CM title!

Whiskey tips: Entry level: Jameson Irish whiskey (butterscotch flavor, easy to drink) and affordable (15-20 €/bottle max); Mid level: Monkey shoulder (blended) and Connemara (Irish peated whiskey), Laphroaigh 10 (extremely peated whiskey), ~30 €/bottle; The good good good stuff: Lagavulin 16, Ardbeg (peated) 10 (~50-60€/bottle).
