Playing against the engine really isn't a good idea, because at weaker levels they play weird and strong levels, well, they play like engines! There's no scope for using tactics with them. Play against humans, you'll lose, of course, but you'll learn for sure. And always analyse your games afterwards so that you don't make the same mistakes twice.

@Arguing101
@Arguing101 4 жыл бұрын
@Alex Imagine thinking "imma" is some type of "disgraceful" rapper lingo when in actuality its an extremely common saying amongst a large portion of the demographics. This is some "OK Boomer" shit right here. People really have to stop looking at language through a grammatical supremacy lens. The faster people realize that there is no actual "correct" way of speaking, the better. Unless you are part of that one institute in England completely dedicated to "perfecting" the grammar of the English language--you're really in no place to talk. And even if you were, you would know that virtually NO ONE speaks the way that they deem "correct," and that it would sound absolutely ridiculous to everyone else. Instead, people should approach language from a linguistic perspective. A perspective that believes that language is an incredibly beautiful cultural and human phenomenon that should be admired and documented. Your comment indicates you have a bias against African American lingo. However, although a lot of their dialects use what many would consider "improper" grammar (based on our arbitrary standard of what is correct), a quick study would show that the usage of such "improper" grammar actually has its own rules within that dialect/community. Its not written down and taught in schools, but the usage of that dialect's grammar is completely understood within that community. AGAIN, these dialects are NOT just a hodgepodge of improper usages of standard English. There are actual RULES. So, I ask this. If that dialect follows a set of rules that everyone understands, what makes it any different from our perception of "proper" English?

Morphy plays the Morphy's Defence in the Ruy Lopez. Everyone: "HE DID IT!, HE DID IT!" Poor old Barnes. Again with the unbridled aggressive attitude. All those knights moves allowed him to get a full rook advantage, but at the cost of allowing Morphy full development, and beautifully placed Bishops for an attack on the Kingside. Another game which teaches us the principle of "Try not to move the same piece in the opening".

We need barnes saga with other players also because he is quite an attacking player. It will be great for us to learn about attacking.

The Morphy Defence (3... a6) is actually quite a dynamic move. It was long since known even before Morphy that removing the immediate defence of the e5 pawn cannot win it. The latent black queen protects it as well. So, what's so great about Morphy's defence? The biggest advantage is that it prepares b4 and further refutes the Lopez bishop in its futile sortie of the once removed attack on black's center. Also, the longest analyzed opening lines in chess arise from it. The old Chigorin defense being the most orthodox. It's a clock saving tactic to play the Chigorin as it has a standard line going beyond 15 moves or more!

5:00 Why not Qxf6? Then if pawn takes rook, you can capture with Queen, if pawn takes bishop capture with rook and if pawn recaptures queen then capture b pawn with bishop.

Are you sure that after pawn recaptures queen you still want to capture the b-pawn with the bishop? The g-file has just opened up...

Attacking is way more awesome when you're always 2 moves away from getting checkmated. Morphy always wins because he's 3 moves away from getting mated.
