World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen tops the field for the Airthings Masters, the 2nd stage of the Champions Chess Tour. The 12-player event will be played online on chess24 from December 26th to January 3rd and, as the first Major of the tour, features a $200,000 prize fund with $60,000 for 1st place. The winner also qualifies directly to the Grand Final in September 2021.
The tournament starts with a 3-day preliminary stage where the players play each other once before the top 8 go forward to a knockout. The time control is 15 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second increment from move 1. No draw offers are allowed before move 40. Official website: championschesstour.com

And MVL took his place and is now leading the Candidates as of now. Hence probably the fury is showing in his games as his prediction and recommendation to postpone eventually was heeded on but it was a little too late for him as he withdrew.

@@mylovelyman2 Your stupidity is unreal. Before Radjabov and Nakamura, Kasparov played the KID with great success, using it in WC matches multiple times. Before that, it was Bobby Fischer's favourite reply to d4, and was also used by great players like Taimanov and Tal. Pretty much everyone played the KID from the 1960s to 2000 at least occasionally. Carlsen has used it. Almost every great player for the past few decades has used it at some point. The most notable names are, like I mentioned before, Kasparov, Tal and Fischer, as well as Geller, Taimanov, Polugaevsky, Vlemirovic, Nezhmedtinov and Topalov.

At 9:28 Dubov could have played bishop captures pawn on h6 and now if pawn captures the knight to f6 picks up the rook and Dubov has a rook aganist a knight and bishop
